  • The continuing adventures in the Valheim world we've have been running since Hearth and Home was released. All vanilla, no mods, survivor mode.
Ashlands has officially been released. These sessions were recorded during patch 0.218.16.
More Ashlands mayhem in this batch of days. No deaths... but I'm saving those for the next one...
I start off getting into the central tower of the newly captured Fort Bell. Finding a good amount of gems in the process and upgrading my staff of the wild to max.
I'm glad that I did. This staff is amazing.
I spent the next few days marching across the Ashlands trying out the vines. They work great against the charred, and isn't bad against Morgens either. They tend to move around a lot, so getting a root stun lock is great when it happens.
I was really impressed with how well the vines did against the fallen Valkyries. It not only whacked them for decent damage, but also took the hits of the fireballs and acted like a shield. Not bad at all.
After gathering berries, and using vines against the bros when they invaded, I gathered greydwarf eyes and more portal materials. It was time that I sailed east towards the original Ashlands portal I made ages ago.
Sailing there, I came upon the tiny, wooden portal base I had made, and watched it break apart into the now dangerous ocean. I managed to fight off some voltures, and then pick up most of the wood and other materials from the old base.
Thankfully, there was a nearby rock that remained on the surface, and I could make a quick portal to get back to base.
The next day, I sailed to the old Ashlands to find a surtling and bits of flametal just poking out of the ground. The assets did not load correctly here and nearly wiped all of the old enemies. New enemies were around, but not much else.
I had to run pretty far to the west to encounter some new assets, and made a portal inside a building with a ton of vines. This happened to be right next to another of Fader's alters, so it will be a great spot to revisit from time to time.
As I kept exploring, I found another fortress, and a nearby tower that I built my portal inside.
The tower won't last. There are chaotic moments coming up soon with that tower; escapes, deaths, blasts, and some excellent poor Valheim playing.
    Thanks for watching.
