Rip Rapping New Pond Inlet - Why Won’t the Straw Blower work?

- This did not go as expected. But the end result was worth the work! Working with our awesome neighbor on our split pond build project and trying to get the dam secured before winter. Used Dirt Perfects tandem axle dump truck to haul in two loads of rip rap to repair an eroding drainage ditch. Then we borrowed his new to him straw blower to get all the seed and straw spread. Broke down on us at first, but we got it fixed and got the job done! hope you enjoy.

Great job Mike. The finished job looks great. Glad you got the “straw blower”fixed.🥰🥰🥰🥰
I love your neighbor, when that big clump of straw covered him up he just stood there and smiled. I'd have about 4 sinus infections if that were me. Stay safe brother.
Lucky to have such a great neighbor!
yeah, I was watching him and expected some reaction, but the big grin on his face was not what I had anticipated. That put a big grin on my face too. 👍
The pond looks great. It's good to have friends to help when needed. Mike you have a good looking family. Family is what makes life exciting. God Bless.
Love your spider web stick
Thank you, awesome,great job 👍👍👍👍
💪
27:38 Wait for it! 27:43 😂😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣😭😭😭😭 My eyes are blood shot and my abs hurt from laughing so damn hard!!!!
The pond turned out amazing. Can't wait to see it full and useable for everyone!
Seems like your next door neighbor is really awesome and that amazing that this awesome pond will be shared by many great job ya'll thumbs up my friends lucky kids with amazing parents thanks for that
Lots of great memories to come!
Thanks for sharing your video. That’s still one nice looking pond. Nice to see the kids having fun. Stay safe, wishing you and your family the best.
Thank you sir, wish the same for you and yours!
great ide for the spider web stick! I am doing that now...
Capt, the pond is coming along very nice, can't wait until the finished project when the neighbor and you sit down for a little fishing... 👍
I agree! Cant wait.
thats gonna be a deep pond
Yes sir!
Good to see the progress on the project. Keep plugging along.
Thank you sir!
Cap’n that pond is looking most spectacular... can’t wait to get there and pull out some lunkers!
Gary, glad to meet you. Thanx for partnering to bring this little piece of heaven to earth.
Cap’n I enjoyed all the camera work that you did... my favorite shot was popping that tire into the loader bucket. I have n old rear tire off my neighbors lawn mower. I’m going out this afternoon to try it with my baby Kubota loader. Thanks for giving me a new trick to add to my stunt resume!
You’ll impress all the neighbors for sure. It’s a show stopper.
Very nice pond y'all will enjoy for years 🇺🇸🏊
Looking good Kleenman. God bless
Thank you sir!
Time lapse towboater...something new to watch! The pond is looking A+ !
Thank you!
Can you hear 👂 me lol 😂. Poor Gary got nice and covered.
Nice job guys. The blower works nice. I love those things 👍🏻
Going to be a nice addition to mikes equipment list
Pond looks good. Cool chicken and OMG all I could see was her doing a face plant right in that mud. Guess the young lady has good balance.
Nice video covering a little bit of everything
That pond looks great, a couple of adjustments and the blower worked great!!
Think it’s going to be a great asset for mike!
Great video. The pond banks looked much steeper today. It will be nice to see everything green again.
Next spring will be a fun time with all the finishing touches!
good video.Great job on the pond
Hey thanks for watching!
pond looks awesome
Thanks!
Great video Captain.
Dumpster diving at its finest!
The pond is coming along nicely,
With the help of family and friends!
Glad you added the bonus footage I just love the property you have
Really looking good. Take care and have a blessed week
You as well!
Really taking shape now looks awesome
Thanks and thanks for watching!
It always seems to take forever to get going some days. Getting fuel, topping off oil and fluids, starting problems, low air tires, to many pop cups to count, connecting hydraulic lines issues, the list goes on. Good job.
You’re right about that. Then customers want to know why there is a three hour min for small jobs. They just don’t get to see this part of it.
Good job Captain and Gary
Thanks! Nice to have good neighbors
Always check the oil and water before starting.
Yup
Just watching that straw is making me itch!
It’s definitely not the most fun to work with. Blower helps though!
Thanks Gary for all the support in getting this job finished, I know you will enjoy the benefits of this project just as much as the Kleeman family.
We had a lot of fun working together on this one!
Great job, a man that can back a trailer! Excellent indeed! Sunday morning with the good Cap'n! Another fine video from the LT!
Hey appreciate you watching!
IF you want a pond that doesn't look like creamed coffee. Try covering where the water sits with river stone. We did that with ours and after it filled up and settled. It cleared up nicely.
Love your spider stick
Heck of a day’s work.... looking good
Thank you!
Wow that pond sure has turned out nice. It is going to be deep !!
Yes it is! Fish should love it
Looks like your neighbor was having fun with that straw blower.
I think so too!
Good times!
Indeed!
Cool tool!
The pond looks great, you and your neighbor work very well together. The pond is something that will be used for generations with family and friends. Thanks for sharing. The straw machine looks like you have to be aware of what you’re doing or it will take you out! Kevin
Gary is a great guy and we’ve had a lot of fun working on this. Excited to see what we come up with next spring.
Good to see you living the dream
Lucky man!
Wow that turned out Great it looks AWESOME
Thanks!
woks pretty good, as long as you keep the bailing wire out of it.
Don't forget to watch those mirrors this supposed to stay attached LOL
🤷♂️😂
Jerry the dozer GOD did a nice job on the pond dam! It's good to have friends with skillz.
Absolutely!
Nice video thank you
I like the spider web stick, definitely handy.
Simple solutions are the best solutions
Kleeman when something doesn't go right.. "ooohh yeah?"... hahaha
🤷♂️😂
Learn something new everyday watching this 💯💪👍
You go above and beyond to do a great job
Spiderweb stick is a brilliant idea. I wish I had something like that when I was riding the mountain bike trails after working the midnight shift. 🕸 🕷
It’s the simple solutions that make the biggest differences
@@CaptainKleeman ... but i hope you took it down on Halloween to preserve the day's spirit.
@@silentepsilon888 😂😂 absolutely!
You do great
Gary gets covered in straw and then I notice Captain Kleeman was thinking ahead and had moved his pop bottle out of harms way.
Makes you wonder 🤔 if Captain Kleeman knew what was about to happen to Neighbor Gary.
🤣😂🤣😂
😂😂 just not to that level. My bad
@@CaptainKleeman
🤣😂🤣😂
Gary is apparently a good sport.
Perhaps he believes revenge is a dish best served cold. 😉
Side boards look great , how about a little black rustoleum on the dump body and it would really help the looks too ?
Dump bed is going on for some work this winter as well. Mike has plans!
@@CaptainKleeman
When does he not have plans???
Another Great Video Captain Kleeman.
Thanks for watching!
Always enjoy watching your videos. Was going through some of your older ones and watched this one....imagine my surprise when I seen the bale chopper. I worked for Goosen Industries from 1998 to 2001. I can't count how many of those things I've built, PTO driven and gas engine powered.
Oh that’s cool!
Looking good so far, keep it up you'll get there soon.
Thank you!
being from Florida, I know that "spiderweb" stick is pure genius.
Simple solutions!
Simon Says: "Nice trick with the tire Capt." 😎😎
🤷♂️😂
Love these Videos..... Can someone give a Ball Park Cost on a Pond Build Project like this... Thanks In Advance.🙂
Looks good Mikey! For future reference the bale chopper is designed to take an entire bale at a time. If the knives inside are sharp, you dont even need to cut the twine on the bale, but if they get dull then the twine will jamb up the knives. More rpm's means great chopping power and better throwing distance. but I am sure you figured that part out.
Thanks for the heads up! We will get it figured out eventually!
Get it for Christmas kids, a Gary & Kleeman Spiderweb Stick!!!
😂😂
LOL spider web stick. I use those as well.
Simple solution!
Great video as always Capt, I want a pond dug even more now. Also, thats an awesome looking hat you have on near the end of the video.😁 Thank you so much for the shout out.
Love the hat Jeff! Hope all is well on your end
Trailer ramps...Using the Camarata method...noice
Believe it or not, people have been using that method long before camarata had a trailer. We call it the “common sense” method 🤷♂️
Like the Dump Truck
GMC C8500. Has been a great rig!
I suggest, extend the pipe down the pond, and bury it to avoid the slope get eroded.
Looks awesome keep up the good work
Thank you sir!
When I started operating 45 years ago hearing protection consisted of cotton balls stuck in your ears. That techhas come a long way and If you could hear the ringing in my ears today, you would avail yourself to it.
Call that tree up and tell him you want your drone back.
Won’t answer my dang calls. Would have loved to have it for this project
I am a little behind on watching, so I jumped to the top of the video list and I have to say, that pond looks great. No wonder the kids want to jump in. Too bad it isn't summer right now. Imagine the water slide you could do down that dam right now.
A temporary slip and slide would have been fun!
I keep finding vids I haven't watched. How will I ever learn to be a Capt K trained worker???
Tell Mr. DP that he needs to change the plugs wires cap and rotor on the loader. That’s probably why it’s going dead and burning so much diesel😳😳😳
Ha ha blown it all over ur helper. I laughed so hard and new it was going to happen. Great video and thanks for sharing.
Hey thanks for watching!
Another great video 👍
Thank you sir!
Love jerry but man he cuts some steep slopes to maintain. The project looks great! Congrats on the progress! Love it.
That’s what we had to do with the area we had. Thanks for watching
Great pond job it looking fresh smooth you did a awesome job I would hire you if I needed any work
Thank you and thanks for watching!
Good morning captain 😎 looks nice 😃
Thank you sir and appreciate you watching!
do a overflow with a riser that comes up flush with the water level as close to the middle as you can. the surface draining action really does a good job off keeping off the leaves and junk floating on the surface
Doesn’t make financial sense in this scenario. Thanks for watching!
@@CaptainKleeman yea it is a little late to be doing to overflow when the dam is done it really limits your options
Sunday AM coffee with Kleeman! Yesterday was Saturday AM coffee with SOT. it doesn't get much better than that!
Hey glad you tuned in! Appreciate the support
@@itsallgooddan Look who's talkin buddy! hahaha.
@@itsallgooddan hijack away!!
me and my question on the gibbled upload ;)
oddly, I saw the video that YT broke before they broke it.
I think the hay/straw blower could have the hose length shortened but it's still set for a 4 person crew. 1 driver, 1 loader, 1 hose handler and 1 runner to keep getting more straw.
I agree, seems two can make it work, three would be pretty smooth operation.
and it ain't falling leaves here yet. :p
check here on YT for False Creek Fuel, local fuel dock that has a weather cam showing part of their operation and the activities as well as the weather. Just remember, it's Pacific Time here.
during daylight you can easily see the greenery on the north side of the water.
@@jaquigreenlees hey I’ll do that!! Thanks for the suggestion.
I would love 2 videos a week
Awww man I was waiting for a splash from ya. I'm still hopeful you will dive in that pond to break it in. Hey that straw blower sure makes short work out of spreading hay and straw !!!! Great vid Cpt and keep em coming my friend.
Hahaha. It’s cold !!!
Back at Lake Kleeman, rip rap will settle into its new home, you were quick to chuck those stones around Mike 😂
Banks will look smashing in spring, pleased Gary assisted you with the straw blowing, wonder how many aircraft tried to home in on the blower while it was spinning??? 🤔🤦♂️
I'm sure Chelsea and the girls were not pleased at being cut off in their prime either 🤦♂️🤣
It all went well and definitely lucky to have such great family and neighbors.
Looking closely at that piece of wire, it looks more like a hardened steel tine from some sort of farm machine, might have already been in the blower or in the very first bit of the straw bale, Anyway you got it working okay in the end
The pond is looking really good and once the seed gets going it will be awesome......
I think you might be right about that. Hey thanks for watching.
Straw blowers are great but they need to be self powered and more flexible
This setup works great for us. Still need something to love a self powered unit though.
Hay is ok, you could have hydroseeded also.
Seed that lats it in year may not come up.
Pond turned out slick captain 👌 a shame little piece of wire cause so much headache. Neighbor seems like a good fellow, just like the rest you Indianians. Stay blessed
Always seems that way, something simple. It all worked out though!
Poor Mr Klein man, this looks like a Mrs DP video, always cleaning up after MrDP LMAO!!!!
GOOD JOB CAPPON LOL
😂😂
You need to get true 2" oak from a saw mill should be cheaper than pressure treated.
Everyone needs a rip rap savings account😀
Good rates!
You should bevel the back corner of them boards so it won't tear holes in your tarp
👍
Man, that pond looks great 👍🏻 It's going to look really nice in spring when the trees come alive again. On my way to check out the Time Lapse Towboater channel!
We are excited to do all the fun landscaping and finishing touches next spring. I see some weeping willows in the future!
@@CaptainKleeman Very cool, keep us updated in spring. I know you will 👍🏻
It is not fair. You answer my questions before I asked.
So all I have left to ask - How are you?))))
Thx for video!
😂😂 well, we are well! And you?
My eyes are itching watching the straw blower.
Can't wait to see this next spring when the grass has come up. That was the craziest looking chicken I've seen in quite some time. Was it wearing a Halloween costume? Lol. Have a blessed and safe week, and please stay healthy.
Us as well! Will be a lot of fun
I would take the hose off. I dont think theres enough hp to force the straw thru all that tubing! I was wrong, i think you figured it out
Took us a little bit but we got it going. All in the learning curve I suppose.
you can put a whole bale in there at one time
I think we will in the future. We were just seeing how it worked. First time user here lol. Thanks for the heads up!
