As soon as we got our hands on a new 2021 Honda CRF450R, we headed out to the track to spin some laps and see how Honda did after making major updates to the bike. For 2021, Honda completely redesigned the CRF450R with a lighter, more narrow frame, reworked engine, and new hydraulic clutch system to name a few. With all these new updated, we were eager to get out on the track and see how these changes translated to the real-world riding experience. In this video, Chase gives his first impressions of the 2021 CRF450R after getting in some seat time on Honda's newly redesigned motocross machine.

Every year is the best year ever.......Gets old hearing that. Still race my 07 and am competitive and place in races.
The way you are describing this, it sounds like Honda is bringing it back to its old ways. That is really exciting to hear!
Honda definitely nailed the air box design!!! Can make a lot of HP with all that much volume. Plus, don't have to worry about dropping dirt down the boot anymore.
Love the honest info on the bike. Missing Fantasy SX with Chase and Christian. Can't wait for 2021 SX.

Those tracks are so good ! Are they in Colorado ? Man that one with the huge lake in the background and the dirt and jumps are so good !

I'm glad that I'm not the only one where who is completed fascinated by the track at the mouth of the canyon - yes, the bike is awesome, and Chase makes amazing videos, and RMMC is the greatest ever, blah, blah, blah... I still want to know whose car I need to wash or shoes I need to shine in order to get a couple laps on that track/course!
Guess I never should hop on a bike with hydro clutch because I have never considered the cables on the CRFs as “too stiff”. I guess it’s just what you are use to. To me they feel “normal”.
I've never considered the cables "too stiff" either but its hard to beat the feel of a hydro. Definitely recommend checking one out!

Chase, that was a great review 👍 thank you. Need your knowledge on this. I'm coming back to the sport after 15 yrs. I'm an low intermediate rider. Fit 185lbs 6'3". 2021 YZ250F or this 2021 CRF450R ? I've always been a Honda guy so I'm torn. The CRF250 is just too weak for my size. But also don't want to be scared to ride (450). Would I be able to enjoy this bike getting back into it OR is it too much?
I just got 2022 Honda crf450r I took a 7 year break from the sport I’ve raced my whole life as well as done freestyle moto I had the same concerns as you but with the different engine mapping’s and the torque control you can really tailor it to your liking but it’s all in how comfortable you feel on the bike and what you intend to use it for that’s why a lot of guys like the Ktm 350’s it’s like a comfortable balance between a 250f and a 450 I’m not gonna lie there’s a huge power difference between a 250f and a 450 but if your an experienced rider I think you’ll be fine on a 450 as a rider you know your limits just be careful
I received my new Honda 450 in October, it has a plug where the cable clutch is located.
If they made 2 strokes again the world would be at peace

What tracks are you riding at? I've got family in Utah and may take my CRF next time I visit.
My Suzuki I did oil changes on them , and ride them, DVX400 , KX250. Oil changes and fill up the gas.
I like all CRF450 starting 2017!✊💨Just feel like at home.😉

I'm just a avg rider who doesn't really pay attention the nitty gritty fork calibration and shock stuff, just go out there and have fun.
plus if you have the $$$ to buy brand new, you must making the big bucks.

For me the coolest CRF so far 👌only the hole in the crankcase seems they have reused the old molds 😬
The new 450 looks better now stronger looking just needs a two stroke motor in it

We sell the Honda tuner that does it for you and got the map from Honda
Couldn't understand what you were saying when you take off were you saying it was bonding or was it bogging what you don't like I couldn't understand
In my opinion the clutch actuator hole is a deal breaker. Not only will it fill up with water it will also fill up with Dirt and sand. I think that would be of great concern. Plus, you pay $10,000 for a bike.
More manageable power sounds like Honda Tuned this year more for the 450rx and not so much for the 450r?

thanks for your review. I have a question. if you had to buy a motorcycle with your money .. would you buy honda or kawasaki? last question i ride a kawasaki 250 2017 which bike would you recommend to make the displacement switch between honda kawasaki and husqvarna?

Man, that is a tough question! Here's the deal. If I had to buy one and I HAD to leave it totally stock (no suspension work, mapping etc.) I would get the Kawi. But I like the ergonomics and cornering of the Honda more. The Honda would be my choice but the stock suspension settings aren't as good and the mapping does need a little work. If you can get those two things dialed in, the Honda is an amazing bike. - Chase

It’s in Mona Ut. not Eagle Mtn. And yes it’s pretty bad ass. The million dollar question is what strings do I have to pull to ride the other track. I know it’s a private track because of its location but who owns it and when can I come try it out. I need to ride it it’s only five minutes from my house. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🤫

I like the cornering, ergonomics, clutch more on the Honda. The Yamaha's frame does absorb more and because of the bog on the Honda, in stock form, the Yamaha is better. I always have my suspension re-valved so I don't get too worried about that. But in stock trim the Yamaha is better. - Chase

@@d4ljosh859 Honestly, I think the Kawi is the best bike completely stock. There is nothing bad about that bike to be honest. It does everything well. I would get a Kawi over a Yamaha no question.

Twins do look better but they gotta shave weight somewhere.

Naw, the 2008 was the best year ever. Last year of carburetor. Yea, it’s heavier, but hooked up better than any bike I ever owned... I have had 5 different 450r’s. If your not pro, stop spending $14k on these new bikes. Pointless! Hydraulic clutch is cool, but like 12 years too late HONDA. Come on LOL
