  • Magic Untapped takes a few minutes to look back at 'Nemesis', the second (and arguably most well received) set in Magic: The Gathering's maligned Masques block.

This is really well-made and I look forward to seeing more :)
I think a Nemesis booster might have been the first magic product i've ever bought. That Blastoderm unearthed a lot of memories for me

"Wow I'm growing an extra set of arms. I wonder if this is from that weird radiation chamber I sleep in every night. Oh well."

Ertai is probably the most screwed over character in MTG lore except like...Tamiyo. It's kinda comedic how much things go wrong for him.
He gets abandoned once because of another ship chasing the Weatherlight.
Gets abandoned again because the person who happens to be willing to flip on Phyrexia and his lover is conveinently the Phyrexianized version of Eladamri's daughter and he just cannot bear to look at her alive, even if she is actively helping them.
Gets killed on accident by Squee.
Then comes back to life just to die again due to things that aren't his fault.

Great video. I enjoyed Belbe's story, and was sad. I hope she gets a card one day.

When I was younger I thought it was odd how Nemesis jumped planes from Mercadia to Rath. Looking back now, however, I like the decision.

I remember playing Nemesis back in the day: it was a definite step up from Masques, but nothing to get excited about. Sadly the next set was a huge step down.

And that set will be next month's Magic History video.

I didn’t know that there were comics for this set; I do know about the Fallen Empires, Ice Age, Gerrard’s Quest, Arabian Knights, and Homelands comics but not one for this set. Do you happen to know the name of it or them and where I could find a copy?

It appeared in Top Deck magazine. Issue 4, I believe.
