First fish is Job fish i think .its hard to get those legal size CODS , you can so many but not the legal size lol. Also a tip if you going to go outside especially in summer always leave one live bait floating while you bottom bashing u will be surprised what you could catch!
Yeah we often forget about the floating bait trick in the rod holder. something we will definitely try!

It can be hard to get a legal Maori Cod these days but they are delicious when you do 👌

Burley burley and more burley. Sit on top side of a reef or structures. So current carries burley scent over structure fish will follow it up have a floating bait down deep. Easy way of catching bigger fish

Was there an iodine bream in your catch there ? Caught my eye. Had caught a few on the reefs took them home but very average eating .. did you prep it in any specific way?
