Johns story is amazing, and what an experience to share with his dad
Truly... shook us to the core! Took a while to get over really...
And absolutely, a cherished experience for them 🙏
K x
He gave him life and saved his life ...
Hi from Tasmania
My mum and dad were newly married and had just built a new home the first new house my mum had ever lived in and dad got a promotion to be the forestry ranger on Bruny island and mum didn’t want to leave her new home so dad declined his promotion and on the day that dad would have gone to have a look at the new job the panel van had an accident and a lawnmower went through the front set where dad would have been sitting and I would never had known my dad as I wasn’t yet born by 2 months and I am 63 now.
Fate is a wonderful thing
@@johnevans4015 hey, just came across your comment. Truly glad things worked out the way they did and you're with us today. FATE!!! 👍 Cheers and best regards!
YAY KRISTINA POSTED
Haha! Yes, are you enjoying the episode? 😁
John, lighten up on code dates. I work for a dairy company & I have eaten sour cream 6 months past code, cottage cheese 5 months past code & milk 3 weeks past code. If it smells good, it is good. It's simple science, if it smells good, it's good!
So true smell is the best indicator.
Agree!
Totally agree. Here in The USA m the date code is only for the store and is called a " sell by" date. 👍🏻💪🏻
Not sure about Europe, however, here in The USA, the date code is only for the store and is called a " sell by" date. Keeps much longer if kept refrigerated, or frozen (if possible). 😊
.
Fab episode guys ‼️ 🎉 And good to see a bit more of Kelly. She seems nice. What an amazing looking island place. Yet the best was dinner with pasta, muscles, large shrimp, and sauce. OMG, my bride and I could have eaten that for sure ‼️ 👍🏻 See you next time. ✨ 🌊 💨 ⛵️ 🏝️ 👙 🌞 ✨
As they say a good blue cheese is a cheese that can walk by it self.
Glad your dad pulled u off that flight to close for comfort great episode
🙏 John's Dad was telling me yesterday the attendant was being very pushy.... so grateful he stuck to his guns! 🥹
Hey everyone!! Damn... how crazy was John's story about his close call?... 😳 Life can be so crazy sometimes...!
And what are you feelings on Use by Dates?! 🤣 Hope you enjoyed visiting the Kingdom and the so-called Royal Family.

I'm falling more in love with that boat every ep , dont know why but a mono on heel is always prettier!
Great ep & what a beautiful spot.
All sailing boats heel, sailing catamarans however do not, different kind of sailing vessel. That said, sailing boats are also much prettier and more pleasing to the eye.
Truly ❤️ A couple of those angles make us look like little ants on board! She’s an absolute beauty! A sail to remember this one ☝️🙏 Cheers Simon ✨

We don't only use fenders as floaties-when at sea, we also drag them behind the boat while going less than 2 knots (and one person on the boat at all times). It's so much fun!
That issss good!!!! 😅😅 I’m so trying this next time! Hopefully sharks don’t see us like a fish on a hook 🙈😅 I guess being from Australia this is my first thought 😝
beautiful boat
Truly! 😍😍
Great episode guys!🙂
Thank you Pauline for watching! 🙂 Hope you enjoyed the island - France next. Cant wait for the next chapter! 🇫🇷 and all the bakery’s! Haha
Excellent video as always living the dream 👍👍👍🇦🇺
Loved all parts! 😊
Thanks Doug!! Too kind ❤️✨ Hope you’re having a great weekend!
I've been watching you guys from the beginning and you're the best channel on CZcams. Keep up the great work!
Wow, thanks Russ, that's so kind of you to say 🥹
Comments like yours, give me inspo to keep sharing the journey, so thank you for joining us for the ride!

I remember that crash story. I think it was Mentour did a piece on it. You were so lucky to have the experience to know the load out didn't look right. As far as the use by dates, for cheese especially, as the good stuff has been aged for months or years what is an extra few days. For most products, the date is set by regulation, or by test results, (it was still good after x days so we can date it at least that far out) or by when tasters can detect is isn't absolutely perfect. Not fit to eat is almost always a fair bit past the use by date except for things like raw meat cuts and fresh prepared things like salads. Watch, but be chill. My motto, if in doubt chuck it out.
150k followers well done!!
YAY!!!! Thanks so much Peter! 🎉🥳
I liked John's story. I've heard about things like that.
The little hairs stand up on my skin every time 🥹😌
5:02 au what a wonderful beach! Sand, the water's color...!!
Thanks for taking me along. Love the food clips!
I thoroughly enjoy you three. So down to earth adventure. Been watching for a long time.
Beautiful episode and stunning place, Sardinia is truly a paradise! Love your channel (and what a great sailboat!), keep it up!! :)
Such a beautiful part of the world.. truly stunning! Do you have a favourite spot?
Thank you so much for your kind words -- really appreciate it!! Next chapter - France!! The winds up there can be pretty brutal, but gosh -- another stunning location, can't wait to share more :) K x
I remember that crash. Just wow. That is scary.
Yeh… pretty wild hey. Goosebumps every time Rick
Wow, what an adventure. Love the episode and anxiously awaiting the next one. Thank you for sharing your journey.
Cheers Tom working on it now 😍😅👏🏽 Can’t wait to take you onboard for the sail to France!
Another fantastic vlog guys! John you are one lucky traveler mate! Enjoy and safe sailing 👏👏👏👏
Kristina & John good to see you again. This was an awesome video and John's survival story , this island kingdom and you lifestyle you are living now is unreal excellento as the Italians would say lol. Looking forward to your next video stay safe.
Love watching your adventures! Excellent vlog!
Thank you Bryan ☺️☺️ Next ep we’re taking you northhhh! Woohooo! 🇫🇷
Amazing footage as always. Love your videos. Always the best!!! Cheers.
Another great video guys! Loved John's story - certainly does put things in perspective!
I used to be a high end gourmet cheese marketer and salesman. You can eat that stuff till it's either, liquid, riddled with mould inside and out, or simply has become too aged for your palate. Good quality cheeses are basically active culture. Good until the culture is dead. That happens quickly in highly processed, low quality supermarket style packaged stuff.
What a great episode! So glad John is with us today! Yikes!😮 The course you're taking is a perfect West Med tour. Thanks for sharing! ❤❤❤
I’m really really enjoying following this adventure!! Definitely my one of my favourites ❤
So beautiful and nice
Truly!!! ❤️
You are a total goofball, girl! Hilarious! That was the most elegant play by play of dumping the trash I’ve ever seen!!! 😂😂😂 hugs 🤗
Hahahaha 🤣😂💃💁♀️
Love that island, thanks for sharing.
It’s a wonderful place! A truely unique place ✨
Cheers Paul 🤙🏽
Thanks!
Thank you so much Nick! We're saving up to buy a new microphone set (to get better audio quality) so cheers for your contribution!! 🥹❤️🥰
Cool story! Thanks for sharing!!
It's been wonderful following you on this journey. Such a nice break from my desk job escaping with you guys for a little while. John's story was incredible, the Island and meeting the "Royal family" was so cool, but I think watching you try to balance on that fender might have been my favorite part. .. too funny. (very jealous of all the food ... looks incredible).
Another great episode, very polished!
We are sitting in a rolly anchorage getting very jealous of your trip!
All the best
Dave and Talia
Love love love this channel
This one has so many great elements guys. That is an amazing story of Grace John, and yes, you are exactly correct, we haven't any idea how close we might have come, or how close we might be to our last breath, so we praise God with His Son, in Jesus Christ for every single one. Hallelujah...
Actually, the best part of this vlog is hearing Kristina say "bottle bottle" (chuckle).
God Bless Guys with Hugs&Love all🙏🏻⛵🐬...
Hello Sailer's ❤ Love all your episodes, liked John's story so touching ❤ Delicious cheese board. Thanks for showing a wonderful Island, It's really beauty of nature. Keep Sailing, wishing you Good luck for your France trip ❤
Wow great episode! Those were epic drone shots of the boat healing, well done John. Glad john listen to his Dad's Gut instinct not to go, other wise you would not be on this adventure in life together. One thing I have learned in life, if you have a gut feeling something is off, listen to it! Thank you for introducing us to the king. Your Story telling skills Kristina are captivating, another Well done Episode!
I know I've said this before in a comment but it's worth mentioning over and over. Your sailing channel is by far the best because of your editing and storytelling. You are a master. And I thank you for your hard work and professionalism.
Feeling all the feels with your very kind words, James, thank you so much! Have an epic weekend, and please don't be shy, I'm a words of affirmation gal, so keep the love coming! (you may have seen this in an earlier episode) hahaha
None of the above...it's you. Beautiful Yacht by the way and yes love the the Island. Thank you
All of it. Great effort!
Cheers Michael! 🥹 Hope you have a great weekend! Until next time... (FRANNNNNCCEEE!)

I had an experience somewhat similar to John. In my early days in the RAAF I was due to be posted from one base to another in a different state. Often in those days ground crew like me would be rewarded with a flight in one of the Squadron’s aircraft. So the pilot’s organised a flight and came to tell me the time and date. Unfortunately I was already busy that day doing my removal from my home. They only had this one available flight so I had to decline the offer. One of my workmates who had only recently been posted in having just joined the Air Force asked if he could take my place. The pilot agreed to this. So the following week on the day of my removal I was at home organising the removalists, we were listening to the local radio when a news break announced there’d been an aircraft crash out at the base. So I rang work to find out what happened. My boss told me that both guys on board the aircraft were killed, including my workmate and the pilot that I also knew. I was devastated, especially as that should’ve been me aboard the aircraft. I understand how John must’ve felt at the time of his episode. Fate can be so unpredictable.
Hey Terry, wow that’s a crazy story, sorry to hear about your colleagues. Fate certainly works in strange ways. Surreal feeling, but I can imagine it would have made it much harder having known the guys that died. Glad you were busy that day! Thanks for sharing, JT
@@KristinasTravels Thanks John. I love your boat travels, you guys, La Vagabonde, and Sailing Doodles are the channels I like most because the sailing world is in my blood and your adventures make me want to get out and experience that all again now I’m retired. Maybe I’ll see you on the water somewhere one day. Best wishes to you and Kristina, fair winds. 👍🇦🇺
As always it was a great video! I'm amazed by the drone shots, when we're sailing in croatia i always tried it, but i wasn't comfortable to fly the drone in 15+ knots, now i have a Dji air 3, we'll see what she can do in the summer. I'm wondering how you release and catch the drone in these conditions!
Hey mate, John here, we just catch it by hand, but if we were more organised we’d buy one of the catch handles off of eBay and a pair of fishing gloves or similar so you can grab it without putting your hands near the rotors. We haven’t lost a drone yet but that’s usually because we avoid filming while underway 😆 enjoy the sailing this summer and good luck with the drone-ing! JT
@@KristinasTravels Thanks John for the quick response! I was looking these handles but i don't know how effects the drone stability etc...I started to work as a videographer/photographer in Hungary and a professional said to me: "you need to take the risk for the shot". Have a nice day! And if you guys ever need help with anything be about video, photo. Around Hungary (or close to hungary) Hit me up!
Crazy island is the best. I have been to Capri and fell in love with the place. Your island has a lot of intrigue. Happy Sails
Beutiful bot!🤙
Fantastic episode, so many serendipitous moments in life.
Dates on most things are best before not use by, blue cheese and Camembert have mould on them already.
Keep up the awesome work
What a wonderful story and adventure. Thank you Queen.
Hahaha - love it! 👸😆 Cheers Jim! K x
What a place. Well done.
An incredible island 🏝️ Thank you for watching Alley! 🤩🤩🤩🤩
Cheese is good if it's not mouldy. You can even cut the mould off 3-5mm and the cheese inside is tasty and safe to eat. Liquids that have gone off taste fizzy, so taste carefully and spit out! Fish doesn't smell if it's fresh!
Great video. Enjoy.
Simply wonderful.
🥹 Thank you for watching Pemberwick!

Super interesting episode. Sardinia and the surrounding islands are fabulous.
🥰🤩🏝️ an incredible archipelago! ❤️✨😍 Cheers Mark! Thanks for watching and your support this episode x K
Good call on not getting on the plane especially with all that cargo on board. As a pilot trust your gut! Excellent video as always!
Groovy episode. Exciting island, super dinner.
Dinner was damn delicious!! Can't go past-a (pun intended) spaghetti marinara!
Super great episode from a very beautiful part of the world.
love this episode. great quality of life in this kingdom

Thanks so much! I give each one my all 🥹✨ Really appreciate your encouragement and kind words 🙂 xx K
what a beautiful island. safe travels
Thank you!!! Can’t wait to show you the French coast 🥐🥐🥐
I think John knew that the plane was overloaded. It most likely stalled and crashed as soon as it cleared ground effect.
Love and Respect your adventure has been classic..........
Merci beaucoup 😊. A bientôt
Cheers Tom! Merci 🙂
Wonderful filming and editing . much praise and love from England xxxxxx
Thank you, thank you! All worth it with compliments like yours, much appreciated. Must be getting a little warmer there! 😁

Cheers Andy, appreciate it the love 🙂
Omg, Omg you met the King of the island . How cool.
One of the most random adventures of our lives!! 🤣😅
Great video. Beautiful island . Nice cheese platter.
Another great video. I envy your guys lifestyle.
Spectacular video. Your location choices are fantastic. I knew very little of the area you’re visiting now, so I find your videos riveting. Also, very nicely produced.
Ohhh that’s SO great! Likewise, I literally had no idea about all these places and islands, so I’m learning with you, and it’s been a pleasure! 😀🤩✨ K x
This boat is a beauty. Love the adventures and you do a great job storytelling. John, that is one hell of a near miss.
It really is, isn't it! Thanks so much Thomas.. yeh.. he got lucky. I swear he has 9 lives.. we have a few other interesting stories we might have to tell ...
Love your videos. Always the best!!! 😜

Thanks so much for your support!! ☺️ Cheers for leaving us some love here in the comments - big hugs to you! K xx
Kristina - Thank you for another excellent story covering your world travels. I hope that your fans back home in Australia are watching your videos. You should host a television travelogue, your commentary is that good. Well, you already knew that, being the pro that you are. Cheers from Sandy Eggo!
John’s story was great. 👍
🥹✨🙏
All of the above, but especially the local history part. Have a good passage.
Oh that’s awesome. So glad we were able to share the history, so unique hey!? 😍🙂
@@KristinasTravels Thank you mate!
That plane story was crazy. Reminds me of the Spanair Flight 5022 crash, which the electronic music artist Deadmau5 was supposed to be on but he got to the gate 1 minute too late and they wouldn't let him on, That was a lucky escape for him too.
A near miss with that flight story. Now your living your dream.
🥹❤️ forever grateful!! Xxxx
Did you guys also anchor at Corse? Stunning small bays at the West side.
If you're gonna be a king I think that is the place. All the best.
100%! How incredible is the size of that mountain on the island - unreal! 😍 It seems so much more grand in real life, the camera never does it justice .. the camera also never captures rolly swell well either! Dont know why 😂😅
👍⛵
All your videos are good but this was really. Best wishes from Jomtien beach, Thailand - an old USA ex-lawyer (75) living the last (best) part out here.Robert
amazing
☺️ an incredible island! 🏝️
I have a similar story in Nepal.
I believe I met my recently passed Dad on the Mid station stop on the Mardi Hymal trek in the form of an Indian lady....spun me out.
Hey, that was one very interesting story from John, so much so that I decided to do some sleuthing! Turns out the Nepalese government were asked by the UN to separate the Civil Aviation Authority, but they failed to do so for many years to the point where the EU placed bans on them! And as far as the sell-by dates, those are guides, not hard fast rules. I would eat, so long as it was palatable. Some cheeses rely on them being stored for some time to acquire a certain taste.
That is a beautiful boat you are on now, watching from Melbourne Vic, remember that place ??
Haha!!! Yes, we feel very lucky!
Oh my gosh!!! Feels like yesterday we were there. Must be crazy there this weekend with the F1 in town?!?! Are you surviving? 🤣
55 ft is a yacht ? Love the thumnail !!!
Yes 🙂 it’s called the Jeanneau Yschts 55
And thank youuuuu! 🙌☺️❤️
Which weather app are you using at 2:05?
Thanks for the wonderful episode!
It's called, Windy.app
Thank you so much!! 🙂
hey guys , how are you finding the jeanneau 57 ?, i had a Beneteau 57 which sold i am looking at 2022 jeanneau 57 how are finding yours?
Hey Brett! She’s the new J55 🙂 The boat was released just last year, I think a 57 may be a little different. This one has a bit of a different layout. Have you had a chance to check out the boat tour? I can link it here if you want? 🙂
lovin your videos. You should have flown the drone over the military area, poke the bear 🤣
29:50 i thing you just cut to much from the shoots. Keep more/show more i want to see.🙂💗
Is it harder to cruise the med on a catamaran?
I don’t think so . They are everywhere I look.
