Once again a great video! Thank you! Where do you go for sail this summer??
I would suggest you move away from the fixation of always talking about expensive yachts, marinas and real estate. Sailing is for everyone and talking about how the 1% live might be good for click bait, however from your subscribers that have been here from the beginning its a shame that this is a focul point for the channel. You guys are awesome as you are and purely telling your story is more than enough to keep us all happy and enjoying for years to come. I hope you see this as constructive feedback and one you look into :)
@@scottlarsson It's a natural curiosity and certainly doesn't seem like a "fixation"...I wouldn't want them to change anything.
Italy is just stunning!🤩
Happy sailing Kristina and John!⛵️
It really is!!!! Such a beautiful location. The food, the people, the beaches, the sailing... it just is truly WONDERFUL. A little crowded at times during the high season.. and the winds weren't always on our side for a comfortable anchor experience in the evenings (but hey.. when you're in paradise, NO COMPLAINTS! HAHA)
For some reason, your videos and commentary I could watch for an eternity. Maybe because I'm in AUS but it just looks sooooo nice! I know I need to be on land more but just wanted to say, what an epic trip you've had/you're doing! Living your best life with John and friends. Now you need a doggo!
Thank you both for being you :-D
Fred and E!! Appreciate the support guys! How's Tassie!?!? x
@@KristinasTravels We had 10 days, sailed just under 600nm and got to Lady Barron and back. Some amazing island hopping along the way and we are definitely going back do explore more. Next time it will be a month and we'll actually make it to Tassie. Hopefully all the way around😀 Come join us
Great episode, beautiful scenery. Love your content.
Thanks so much Bos! Such a magic part of the world! x
Looks great. Enjoy.
Love your channel! Thanks for adding the thanks!
LEGEND! Thank you so much Rick ❤️
Groovy episode. Thanks for taking me along.
Our pleasure! Cheers matey!!!! ☺️
Keep up the fabulous work guys🫡💙
Thank you so much B 😁 So grateful for your generous Super Thanks! I absolutely love making these videos, and this truly helps me make the best videos I can, so thank you! So nice to know you're enjoying the journey so far 😍 Hugs Kristina x
We spent a week (on land) in Porto Cervo back in 2019. The whole Costa Smeralda is stunning, but eye wateringly expensive. I remember especially a mortadella sandwich in the Porto Cervo marina, €28, and barely edible.
You all are just too cute together. Great video you are truly living a dream. The editing is spectacular.
Here is a little story behind your little wireless remote from Raymarine.
Dame Ellan MacArthur was solo around the world (c2005) and in fluky winds while at the top of the mast repairing something the boat (Trimaran B&Q/Castorama - Built in Sydney (central coast) Australia)) continued to gybe and gybe in hard mid ocean conditions, so, and on return to England, after the bruises had healed, she insisted B&G develop a wireless remote for the auto pilot.
They did, originally it came out in B&G and also then in Simrad Yachting (B&G's parent) brands as a Bluetooth connected device, providing greater range than RF, hence Dame Ellen could easily climb the mast and control the boat in all directions and conditions, she could also take a mobile call while there if needed if running the Simrad unit!
Great video. I'm not ever paying $800 AUD for a spot in the water!
Great episode.
Hi and happy sailing. Porto cervo is expensive, what do you expect? In other marinas in Sardegna or Corsica for your boat in high season you will pay at least 200 Euro/night; however there are plenty of protected anchorages for free.
It is better to go on anchor outside south of porto cervo and then enter only with the dinghy. Actually on the right side near the entrance there is a spot that once was available for anchoring. For sure the private marinas will tell you it is not allowed. Always ask the coast guard first. Bye the way, if you come in friday after 17 then I usually send an email to the coast guard asking for permission to stay on anchor if I or my crew is too tired to stay outside. if it is after 17 on fridays then the coast guard office is closed and will reopen only on monday morning.
Don't miss La Maddalena , Bonfaccio and Porto Vecchio
Thanks!
Stayed in a place there called Calla di Volpe there some years ago. Had to buy a T shirt from the store which cost $92.00 USD. The way you differentiated between the "small" yachts in the bay and the "large" ones, were that the "small" ones didn't have the helicopters onboard while the "large" ones all had at least one. It was however, a hell of a lot of fun....
Fantastic episode as usual, just shows that money makes money.
Enjoy the sail to France, looking forward to following your journey
Cheers Sean.. haha, that's so true!!! Us too, can't wait to share the next chapter :)
@KristinasTravels thanks for your fast response, loving what you both do
Looks amazing there - but pricey! Have fun all!
Sooo pricey! 😲😲😲 You’d have to be a millionaire to afford that! Have a great weekend Mr W ✌️🙂
beautiful!
Thanks for watching Bob!! 😊✌️ How insane are the pricesss!!!!
i have worked on super yachts as an engineer, you will find that the marinas do deals with super yachts to get them in. I comparison ,as per foot it is cheaper for a 150ft+ super yacht than a 57ft sailing boat.
So interestinggg! Thanks for sharing this inside knowledge with the sailing community Brett :)
Can’t wait for the upcoming videos in France!!
Yes!!!! Honestly.. totally not what we were expecting, can't wait to share more Kyle!
You have to visit Cyprus Limassol Marina.
if you want to visit a nice little town in france with a marina and shop visit saint-vallery-sur-somme its a nice town with even a steam train
Next time, if you happen to be in Sardegna, you should know that not all marinas are that expensive, just a few km from there prices start to be affordable and with equally beautiful and pristine beaches. Also you could have gone to the Cote d'Azur (I prefer calling it like this instead of French riviera, because Nice, or Nizza, and the small towns close to it were Italian historically, France acquired them later) sailing the Eastern coast of Corsica, yes the route is a little bit longer but the sightseeing is incredible, and to spend some time in Italy you could have stopped in Tuscany, Liguria or Corsica (which despite being part of France, like Nice, it's more related to the neighbouring Italian regions in terms of culture and history and in this case even linguistically)
Kristina another awesome video of Paradise. Actually paradise is where ever the boat goes to. You guys are so fortunate to have this sail boat given to you to use I guess test out.
That Marina in Porto Cervo holly Sh** expensive or what wow. Could you have just anchored or did I hear on the video they charged for that also. Will be interesting to know how much Monaco charges as I know they can give Porto Cervo a run for the money and super yacht Marina's.
Anyhow enjoyed this video like I already said and looking forward to next video Cheers be safe
Hey there Jonathan, haha, that made me laugh, holy sh** expensive is the perfect way to describe it! I wish I could make the title of this video say that hahaha! Yeh.. you're not allowed to anchor in the bay.. police fine people. You have to somehow get on a mooring... which is probably almost impossible to get! ChatGPT just ran this out for me:
Here's a list of some of the most expensive marinas in the world:
1. Marina Grande - Capri, Italy
2. Porto Cervo Marina - Sardinia, Italy
3. Marina di Portofino - Portofino, Italy
4. Marina Ibiza - Ibiza, Spain
5. Port Hercules - Monaco
6. Marina di St. Tropez - St. Tropez, France
7. Marina di Porto Rotondo - Sardinia, Italy
8. Marina di Porto Cervo - Sardinia, Italy
9. Yacht Haven Grande - St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands
10. OneOcean Port Vell - Barcelona, Spain
These marinas are known for their luxurious amenities, prime locations, and high demand, contributing to their reputation as some of the most expensive places to dock a yacht in the world.
@@KristinasTravels Thanks Kristina😁
Wow
I hope you enjoy Monaco and the two casinos there. Please show us!
Hey. Beautiful vlog! Yes, I too think the prices are steep, but you also do get what you pay for. They say its luxurious etc, etc, all the excuses to get you to pay more, haha. Enjoy guys!
Haha, it's a lot of money! I think the most we've paid so far is 200 euros for a night.. and we stayed... ONE NIGHT.. that was in Palma, and I think about 190 in Bonifacio. I guess you'll get to network and rub shoulders with the rich and famous on the dock LOL!
For that mariner price they should fill your tanks up too - wow. great video as always
Haha! Actually.. then it would be worth that price!!!! 😅
It's pretty much the exact same price as filling the 400l fuel tank which would make the marina free so I wouldn't say no to that...
Wow thats a lot of dollars. I guess if I win the lottery I will be spendin a lot of time there😂 Great episode Peace
A lot of dollars!! Haha.. what a fun 15 minutes to look around the place... and yes.. if you win the lottery, please please invite us!! hehe x
As we Europeans do not get the US it is clearly visible that you do not understand Europe.
It is not about numbers it is about the beauty and the feeling.
That is insane, next time you have to visit IBIZA AND FORMENTERA with the insane tourquoise water
That would be an absolute dream!!! 💭 Can’t wait to head back to Spain again 😲😍👌 Cheers Javier
Loved the Uber eats ice cream 😂❤…. Perfect
Haha! So cool right!!!!!! We just HAD to! Best 5 euro yet LOL x
Bedankt
Hartelijk dank voor uw bijdrage en voor uw hulp bij het ontwikkelen van de best mogelijke video's. Ik ben zo dankbaar voor je steun! K x
Hope this made sense, I used Google translate 🥰
Kristina you are sailing on hull 1 of a 2024 yacht and there is no water maker installed, as you go into a marina to fill the water tanks.
Hey George, we were thrown the keys before it was installed so we could get going on the trip asap (as it was hull #1 as you mentioned and straight out of the factory)! But one is installed when we get back to France before given to the new owner 🙂 Great question! Cheers for watching ✌️ Have a great week x
Hello from Baku.
For the next time I suggest Cannigione. 😊
Thank you Matt! Will have to check it out! 😍
I want that sailboat
She's a beauty hey... 😍
Invest in a water-making machine. Saves you money in the long run .. ;-)
😀😀👍👍👍❤
Cheers Thomas!! ❤️
I do not think has any similarity to California...
I think Kel may have been referring to the cliffs and the flora as we were approaching, it was a lot greener than the rest of the island. Or maybe Kel was just missing home haha x
Was that the most expensive ice cream ever?😊
I think so.. hahaha! I think they were 5 euros each! But... I mean.. look at the location... and talk about service! 🤣
A fool and his money are easily parted... Sail Safe Guys, Ant & Cid.
💭😅 That’s a good saying!!
Cheers for your support Ant and Cid 🙂 Straight back at you 🙌 Fair winds
K x
You got a $1.5m boat for free, hopefully you enjoy it!
For 2 months.. then we have to give it back! But absolutely, made the most of every second!!!! 🙌🥰❤️
Vuoi parcheggiare la barca in Sardegna?? Pagareeee!!!!
Used for bunga bunga parties 😂
They should have let you staying at the marina even without paying because you are famous youtube stars! 😂
Awww, that's so nice of you to say!! Maybe we should have tried to pull some strings haha 🤣 but they'd most likely have no idea who we are 😂 xx
Just a 55ft boat you say lol
😄😂 it’s big, but amongst the behemoths in Europe we sometimes feel small 🙃❗️Haha! To be honest though, I’m not behind the helm.. John is steering us into the marina.. otherwise yes.. I definitely wouldn’t be calling her JUST a 55ft… lol… 😂
A bit disappointed, not what I was expecting.
I do hope you didn’t pay that silly money just to moor up at that overpriced place .! 😮😮😮😮❤
Nope! We didn't. There was going to be no way! haha Thanks PM :P
World need to get rid of money!
Wouldn't that be an interesting place...! haha
Thanks!
