Ranged units will retaliate even against the smallest units if attacked by direct missile attacks such as fireballs. The whole army won’t get triggered and start to shoot the perpetrator, only the unit that was targeted

Have you considered doing an end of month or quarterly review video of all your disaster battles of the last period? It might be fun to hear what some of the petitioners thought about your solutions and outcomes. Plus, it would be useful for highlighting common situations players have been finding themselves in as well as highlighting AI tendencies and satisfying moments from the footage. I'd watch it.

Excellent strategy as always! It's very impressive to pull off such a battle with so few losses!
Something a bit random that does help in battles is If you can use your catapults as a blockade of sorts, If you get them to drop it in front of a blob, Cav charges are massively nerfed when they hit the 4 catapults which minimizes the initial charge damage, it also slows your enemy as they walk through. Idk its not a great tip but it can help.
here's a tip for you, Legend: To get the correct amount of menace below count, don't look at the top tooltip for menace below (the one just under the Winds of Magic) but rather the one listed in the army abilities (in this case, the one next to the warpfire thrower unit card). That gives you the actual total!
I'm loving the disaster battles and scenarios again! So much fun to watch.
Is it me or last couple of videos are kind of choppy from fps standpoint? It seems Legend is playing with no issues, so could it be a problem on my side? Does anyone else see frame drops?

Great video legend, (I know this is common), but idk if this was something for everyone but video was very choppy and had points where u would be giving orders and the screen simply wouldn’t move, can’t wait for the next episodes 🙃

I did not experience this I'm pretty sure, but there were a few times I wasn't paying close attention. I'll watch it again and pay close attention to the framerate
EDIT: Ah, I see what you mean. Yep, there was definitely some choppy slowdown, right around twenty three and a half minutes in. 23:20 or so
i love your videos for a long time and still do, but in the past like 2-3 weeks it feels like every video gets more laggy... i hope you can find a fix soon. Its sad that its hard to enjoy the videos like that
Yeah I've noticed that too, I think the recent slanesh one was OK though from what I remember?
I think it's because the video is still processing on youtube, it's only been up 10 minutes.

Warhammer 3 being unoptimized. I've noticed the games frame rate fluctuate a lot when in different regions/with different corruptions
@@yueqi7499This is likely a recording issue. Legend seems to be playing alright so it was likely Warhammer interfering with his recording software.
@@megaman2000ishwell stutters don't necessarily impact gameplay. And I do agree that when the frontal task stutters, it gets magnified by the recording. But I have similar PC spec as legend and I experience loads of stutters. Warhammer 2 ran much better and the framerates were much more consistent
@@yueqi7499 it’s a CZcams issue. On my end, there was a full 15 seconds of frozen screen while I could hear him continue to issue orders. So clearly the game is still running fine on his end when it is stuttering/freezing on CZcams.
@@Loj84 that's probably the recording software. As I said, small stutters in game can cause bigger stutters in recording because the system will focus hardware on frontal task

Great video legend again. Noticed the video is significantly choppy too. By chance are you using youtube creator studio on a mobile app somewhere in the process? Ive seen other creators report that it causes random video issues with quality and FPS.

On the armor loss base on fatigue comment. I might be wrong about this but if you think about it in a real world practical sense. Someone who is tired is probably gonna remove all the heavy armor they are wearing to try and recover some stamina so it kinda makes sense that as you get tired you “take of your helmet shin guards etc” food for taught. :p
It would be neat if the people who submitted these disaster battles would post their thoughts in the comments after their videos go up. I think it'd be interesting to read their reactions and any ideas or realizations they may have had in regards to the tactics Legend uses to win the battles. Some people do, but its few and far between.
On a completely unrelated note, I remember when the DLC for Blasphemous dropped and Repanses VA became the new VA for Crisanta. She's got a real knack for playing furious religious fanatic women famous for hacking people up with enormous swords.
A lot of them do, I’ve commented on their comments myself a few times, go look. It’s usually a “this was my campaign”, and why they couldn’t do it.😂

Hey legend, love ur vids but for the past weeks every video had some kind of stutter or lag or even just a thing as a freeze. I personally find that a bit annoying and i know im not the only person in your comments who finds this so it would be really nice if you can somehow get it fixed. Keep up the good work!

Its crazy how kuch the AI will ignore your single entities sometimes and instead just rush your main army. Im guessing they coded that to avoid blobbing up and getting destroyed like in wh2. You can be absolutely beating the piss out of their lord with your lord and he will be like" im fine boys just keep marching"
That doesnt work in normal difficulty, they are programmed to be "dumber" wich in fact make them smarter and harder to cheese

I think it's reasonable that fatigue affects the armor negatively. If soldiers are tired they pay less attention, react and move slower and hold for example their shields lower. This should obviously make them more vulnerable. 🤷

Armor gets even weirder when you read CA’s recent post about how damage is calculated. 30 armor can “reduce the Base portion of the attack by a percentage value between 15% and 30% (between 0.5x and 1x the armour value, with rolling above 100% being functionally identical to rolling 100%.)” so armor doesn’t even provide a flat damage reduction
How is it weird? In a lot of tabletop games armor works with a dice. Were you roll the amount of damage you are going to block.
This also means that when you are going above 100 armor your increasing your chance for 100 percent non armour piercing resistance. I think it is a good system.
Makes sense to me. Idk why armor would be a flat damage reduction. There are weak spots and strong spots in armor, and the units have a chance of getting hit in either part.

@@Loj84 but the damage (base+ap) is always the same when not factoring in bonus vs or charge bonus. It also makes it more difficult to calculate how useful armor is when compared to phys resistance which is super easy to calculate
@@scarletcroc3821 I’m not sure what your point is in the first part. As to the second, it’s still pretty easy to calculate most of the time. Average base damage reduction from armor is .75 * armor value. It becomes a little bit more complicated when you have over 100 armor, but it’s still not difficult.

How does he take so little damage with lords, i have 40% ward save on setra on mp tww3 camp, and him on foot/sphynx or chariot he just gets destroyed even agenst low tier units and its not just him, even a friends arenessa gets damaged so hard so im not sure if its some setting or what? If anyone can educate me on what could be up with that

Can someone explain why the guns are programmed to not shoot as the cavalry? For the same reason they don't shoot at small lords sometimes? Seems like they would want to take out the cav. I have never put 2 and 2 together that they do that, never noticed it before, but I am fairly new to VH battle difficulty. Have played 1300 plus hours on Hard in 3, but just started VH recently
Edit: Nevermind I was wrong. Legend was referring to lords and Heros and not units of Cavalry
It was to handle one of Legends most well known cheeses of WH2, running the lord around to waste all the enemies ammo.
It was to stop the ammo cheese. You could take a small, fast unit and run it around inside enemy range, and they'd literally waste ALL their ammo shooting at you. So CA changed it to NOT shoot small units, and that permits you to run in and hit things.
@@planomathandscience Yeah I understand that, but isn't basically all cavalry large size? Plus it's pretty difficult to waste ammo with a unit of cavalry. Seems pretty backwards
@@Locklen but cav is large and its very difficult to waste ammo with a big cav unit. I know about taking a small Lord to waste ammo but who wastes ammo with Brettonia cavalry? Seems difficult
@@DrFeltcher It'll fire on a single entity thats on a monstrous cav, but a pegasus/horse/unicorn is considered too small (when single entity). Its still really easy to waste ammo with a hero/lord on a horse, assuming the difficulty you play on allows for such.

No, they did not. When Ikit is wounded, a much weaker version of the doom rocket automatically explodes at his corpse.
