This show brought back a lot of good memories. I now live in America and Ms. Keith is truly a Lady, and I did not know that Mr. Briers is no longer with us. He was truly a Gentleman.
Over here in the 'colony' it was known as "Good Neighbors". I loved this little show and have it in my collection.
Tom and Barbara, Margot and Jerry. It ended too soon.
I love Penelope Keith. What a well spoken lady.
She's a brilliant actress. She's really a pearly queen cockney you know. "All right, me duck?" That's what she'd say if you bumped into her down the Old Kent Road where she moonlighted as a flower girl right up until the 1980s.

Richard Briers was fabulous as Lord Emsworths younger brother Galahad. And as the Laird of Glenbogle in Monarch of the Glen. Fantastic actor. Fitted the roles perfectly. Penelope Keith is also fantastic in To the Manor Born.
As an American, I can't think of anything more British than Penelope Keith standing in front of that house.

He was brilliant in Ever Decreasing Circles. We've all come across a "Martin" at some point, and he absolutely nailed it.
Indeed. In an interview he once said that Tom Goode basically was like him, but Martin Bryce definitely wasn't however, as you say he nailed Martin's highly strung character marvellously
@crazyclive Indeed, although Martin could be smug sometimes when he thought he was getting the better of Paul, e.g. in the episode where they go to the holiday cottage and Paul doesn't know how to operate the water pump etc.

Wonderfully funny man those were the days when it was a real treat and a cosy feeling sitting watching a great sitcom that was funny with a great cast and brilliant writing innuendo that was so much more funny than the so called comedies of today

He was a welled loved actor representing the best in people and actors, he had that whispering type voice, excellent for narration too.
