    Hello Alex!
    Thank you for your awesome videos as always.
    This was me some years back...we were practically doing all the data cleaning/prep/EDA and simply called it QA. I had no idea until very recently that this is one of the most crucial stages in the DA /DS process!
    The only thing back then was that I would ask over and over again what all the data we captured through all those expensive sensors would be used for and EVERYONE said they had no idea, only that they knew it would be in a database, end of story!
    Now that I know about data science and its sub-fields, it's all making sense to me now.

      I thought that I would never meet statistics again after my last exams while I was in school some years back.
      We were never told its real-life applications, so we all disliked it with such passion!
      Self-learning is what is currently making me gain an appreciation for it.
      The very best of luck to you; and what an auspicious time to be majoring in it in school!

    For someone who’s is interested in BI/BA how much stats would you say to learn ?

    • @rebeccabender5714
      @rebeccabender5714 Před 2 lety +4

      Personally, I would say just the very basics. At least to start. Stuff that you would learn in something like an "Intro to Statistics" class/course. Anything beyond that will depend on who you work for, the data your analyzing, etc. You definitely don't have to memorize the formulas or anything that deep (there are plenty of free cheat sheets out there anyway) as the actual formulas are built into functions that you can call and apply to your data. The big thing is understanding what the concepts are, what they mean, and the different real-world situations in which each of those concepts would be useful or--equally important--not useful.
      Analytics is about telling a story with data. Unfortunately, organizations and individuals will skew analytical results to further their own agendas. Knowing how numerical figures and analyses are calculated, and what those analyses mean, can go a long way towards data literacy. Possessing a high level of data literacy and avoiding statistical biases, I think, are incredibly important in analytics.

Either for Python, C#, Java, Javascript, Data Analysis, Excel and such. So from my personal point of view udemy really needs youtuber to promote them, because it's youtuber who are the biggest threat to their business modell. You can actually find whole university lectures on youtube for free and if that's not helpfull i don't know what is. Also in combination with a couple of more practical videos like the ones you are providing i can't find real use in paying udemy for something that i can have 1:1 for free on youtube and often from people who know better than the guys on udemy.
