Well worth it to go all out improving every aspect of this Raptor 700R. They are outstanding quads in every respect. Been named best sport quad of all time.. also best selling! Has excellent Yamaha engineering /design. Exceeds Hondas best sport quads in performance & features..in my opinion. Reliability is outstanding as well (if maintained properly like any machine. Think the F150 of quads! Just best all around).

When you put it back together. Put the transmission into the case side that the crank stayed with. Then just slide the clutch side case over the shafts. Don’t forget the dowel pin and oring between the 2 inner case halves either. If you do you’ll have no oil pressure.

Pro tip from a non pro…
You should put a Jack under the engine when removing the engine mount bolts to relieve the weight/tension on the bolts… make the bolts punch out easier and less likely to muck up the threads.

Be careful with the chemicals on the plastics, I have found that a very fine steel wool (#0000) won't scratch, a green Scotch Brite pad (which you used) or a Mr Clean Magic Eraser work great, then I follow it with a plastic polish to bring back some of the shine

I highly doubt the reason for the cracked cases was due to water damage. There would have been some water damage within the bottom end especially if it froze. Also how would the water have gotten in bc I doubt it would come in from the crank breather hidden under the seat. I think someone smacked it while riding.

At 18:50.... use an old adjustable wrench or equivalent to brace against the bolt head. Then use the hammer between your hand and the bolt and hit/hammer the wrench. That'll give you better leverage to get the bolt out, and it won't muck up the bolt head.

The one thing I know about the 700 raptor is the high compression .if you allow it to chug and stall or kick it over and it back kicks meaning a compression kick back the bottom end breaks and ya end up getting a whole lower case and repairs it happened to my friend and he still has a lower end and case .but I'm go see him and if he still has it I'm see if I can grab it and hit ya all up and see if ya want it .but I know you know all about wheelers excetra it's just the experience that I've seen happen .but ya goodluck godbless and stay safe
