Famed actor Alec Baldwin was indicted on one charge of involuntary manslaughter in connection to the fatal shooting of “Rust” cinematographer Halyna Hutchins in 2021. Baldwin’s armorer, Hannah Gutierrez, was convicted of involuntary manslaughter after numerous pieces of evidence were presented to a New Mexico jury. Don't be ridiculous! What happened on the set of _Rust_ had *_nothing to do with_* any sort of "payback" orchestrated by the former president, as much as you may want to think it's some _conspiracy_ by him for being made fun of on SNL. Dolt-45 may be _petty, thin-skinned, insecure_ and _childish,_ but that's a big stretch, thinking he had anything to do with the tragic, accidental shooting.
Would it cover the rust set? Asking for a friend..😅

being a narcissistic person is not illegal, however an armorer being drunk and coked up on set, shooting real bullets out of a prop gun the night before the murder, costed someone their life since the lodged fragment from the real bullet hannah shot, came out with the blank baldwin shot. she committed negligence, showed incompitence and ultimately costed someone their life when her duties were to due the exact opposite.

Blanks have been used on other movie sets before. A lot actually. And people were trained as well. Look at the old low budget "Doom" movie. All were trained on set... I was taught as a kid to never point a gun (we had fake ones) at anyone. Then I was taught how to hold a gun w/o my finger on the trigger & safety always on. I was taught gun safety even though we didn't have a gun in our home. There's no excuse.

Baldwin has no excuse for not knowing this because it is written into SAG-AFTRA Safety Bulletin #1 for movie sets, he is not just required to know the rules as a member of the union, he was also an executive producer.

I've reached 2 conclusions on Alec Baldwin:
1. The fact that this was a small movie with no big-name director or producers... he felt he could be the big kid on the playground who does whatever he wants... ignore the director's "cut" and order the crew around.
2. He likes to feel like a big man holding and using a real gun. Notice how giddy he looked when cross-drawing, and I've also seen him use gun metaphors in interviews before.

The point of an armourer is Baldwin isn't required to have _any form of gun experience_ to perform his role. The whole point of an armourer is that in scenes, actors are _required to point guns at people and pull the trigger._ The armourer is there to make sure there's no chance of live rounds being on set. Whether Baldwin actually pulled the trigger or not is really a moot point, the gun should have been cleared as a safe prop before it was ever handed to him. It wouldn't even make sense for him to pull the trigger if he was being given tips by the director on how she wanted him to hold and point the gun.

Girl was under the impression she knew what she was doing and was good at it!! Her father should have known that she was lazy and not detail oriented enough to do this job! The fact that he said there is NO WAY she will be convicted shows that he started to loose it a while ago. Alec and team knew to use her to save money but also to be able to have the guns around the way they wanted them. They knew they could maniputae her with no problems. If they had the expert witness guy he would have been fired after the first gun scene!!

Carpenter wasn't asked to do the job. But the other armorers offered the job declined it due to the split shift. This gun heavy western required 3 full time armorers. Alec chose 1/2 an inexperienced one.

Alec has been handling firearms for work purposes for four decades and he knows to check a firearm that has been handed to him, and to not trust anybody but himself to make sure that it is handled safely while in his possession. I spent ten years in the motion picture industry as a Grip and a Juicer(electrician) and I've worked on at least six big budget films with firearms used as set pieces and props. Alec knows better, and I for one would have gone off on Guitierrez-Reid if I personally witness her obvious carelessness. I know respectable armorers in this business, and they would have never let any of this happen.

Fwiw, I've acted on film/ TV sets for decades - and in roles requiring the use of a gun. NO one expects a live round on a set. Souza was right: it's unheard of.
The protocol is exacting and rigorous. And this goes for low-budget productions, too.
HGR's culpability was real.
Ordinarily, it would not be the fault of the actor, but they may prove Alec's recklessness beyond a reasonable doubt.
And as an EP, he's liable civilly: I'm no lawyer. Leaving it for the trial.

On a film set the actor relies on the armorer and 1st AD to never be put in that position. They both let Alec down, and are arguably more responsible than him for this tragedy. But the laws of New Mexico are separate from the rules of a film set, so his fault will likely be judged from a different standard. One that puts more weight on his personal responsibility, and doesn't take into account the failures of others to keep him in check. I'm not a lawyer either, so we'll see what happens.
I would bet my social security check there's not ONE person reading this who doesn't want to see Alex Baldwin in prison. Hall, Hannah AND Baldwin should ALL serve time.
First AD *Dave Halls,* with a reputation of being _wreckless_ and a _hot-head_ on past film sets, made a *plea bargain* for his testimony - in return he paid a *paltry, $500 fine,* had to *quit alcohol and drugs* (sidebar: maybe _he_ supplied Hannah with cocaine to dole out liberally to coworkers/users) and complete a _community program,_ for his disregard/sloppiness - _not_ the *due diligence* expected of him - in the _key safety role_ for that production.

Alec was executive producer so he was responsible for overall safety on set. If complaints were made to line producers who did not inform Alec, then Alec could not have known about Hannah's poor performance. If complaints were made directly to Alec and he failed to act, he has a problem. The bigger issue is that Alec should have been aware of prudent practices when handling guns on set. He should have been able to identify unsafe practices and corrected them.

Actually you are incorrect. He was Not in charge of safety. The 1st AD was in charge of safety and that was stated during this trial. The armorer is also responsible for gun safety. That’s what she is hired to do. We also can’t see the other angles of this filming to even truly see where people were truly standing while the guns were being shot. We need to be able to see from above the actors to see where everyone was located while Baldwin fired the gun.
He was a producer in name only. Just for the credit. He was not in charge of the crew and who was hired or fired. OSHA determined who was in charge of the set and it wasn’t Baldwin.

He wasn't "in charge of the movie". A different production company owned by Ryan Smith was in charge of production logistics. Alec was given a producer credit because he co-wrote and owned the script.

Negligence is proved when the ‘reasonable person test’ is applied. In this case a reasonable actor would have checked the gun before handling it. Alec is guilty of negligence at the very least.
In this case a reasonable producer (ie Alex Baldwin) would have closed the set down at the first accidental misfire.

I don’t think that’s accurate. There’s also the issue that she wasn’t the one who gave Baldwin the gun. For some reason Baldwin did not want her in the church during the rehearsal. I think it’s because she would’ve objected to what they were doing.
In addition, they had a young woman who had never handled firearms before loading firearms because there was not enough time for the armorer to load them all.
That’s what happened with Brandon Lee. He was supposed to have a rubber knife thrown at him in The Crow but the director went off script. Paramount films fired the armourer on the last day of shooting and the prop master loaded the gun which was switched for the knife. We know what happened next.

The Midwest and Southerners do NOT think its something to take lightly when someone is shot , especially when Hollywood is involved. the armorer girl was showing off to friends that the prop gun could fire a real bullet when they were off set and coked up/drunk. it wasnt a bullet it was a fragment lodged in the gun that came out with the blank baldwin shot from the real bullet hannah had shot, also its the armorers job to clear and check the gun a couple times before handing it to an actor after each reload or next scene. an actor is not at fault here because of all the requirements and procedures that have to legally take place during the operation. the armorer not only put the real bullet in the gun she also was responsible for clearing and searching the barrel for fragments before handing it to an actor. being coked up and drunk during these filmings makes it even worse for her.
What I gathered is they all know Baldwin is acting exactly like Baldwin does on set but when he didn’t listen to the armorer who is apparently high on weed and possibly cocaine she or someone else loaded live rounds almost like a retaliation for his on set behavior. Hopefully the truth comes out.
