I wouldn't have left the truck except to get some exercise walking to the store for a bathroom break, food and drink. Awesome video of handling a snowstorm. I hate driving during a snowfall, too as it makes my eyes bug out.

With all that snow it’s too bad you can’t take one of those “crates” off the back and have some fun. That’s one of the things I miss no longer living in Minnesota. After your walk around the parking lot I wish I could subscribe again. Safe travels.

Just a non-truck driver's opinion here, Canada NEEDS to do better for truck parking/truck stops/services. The lack of places for you big truck drivers to stop is seriously disappointing. Y'all need more safe places to stop without the fear of a small truck stop being full...there has to be alternatives, especially in the province of Ontario and out west here. I mean the City of Surry here in BC is building a truck parking lot right on highway 17 expressly for trucks. That needs to be expanded!
I was watching a video about this the other day, “The Death Of the Independent Truck Stop”, much like every other industry large corporations are buying up all the truck stops. Quality starts to go down once you have a few thousand locations to worry about, and when all the employees get paid the same amount wether the lot is full or empty they could care less.
If you want socialism I guess this works…
Besides Hy401 and siblings in Ontario and Autoroute 20 and siblings in Quebec there is NO rest area parking along the TransCanada in all provinces. It's a disgrace if you ask me. You have to find a truck stop (or such). In winter the number of parkable places dwindle because of all the snow banks.
Yes I agree. Also they need truck parking in Commiefornia. Especially LA. They must be truck driver haters. Always hard to find parking there. Usually on the side of the road when it’s not blocked.

That’s always a wild ride down hwy 144 in the winter time and seeing you go thru Chemy…( Chelmsford ) there isn’t too many places to park. Thanks for the view of downtown Timmins , haven’t been there in yrs ..that holiday inn express motel on Algonquin is new to me. glad you made it to the Petro Pass that right turn on Lorne and left on Regent is one tight turn , I can’t imagine doing it in a rig on rush hr in Sudbury …safe travels , Trucker Josh 👍

I used to live in mostly northern Ontario as a child. I remember the snow and cold. But now and for quite sometime have lived on Van Isl. Usually mild but lots of wind and rain in winter months. Sometime I miss the snow.

Hi Josh, I'm watching from Austria! You're doing great in the snow. We have a ton of tough and very steep (over 16%!) roads with snow here. Imagine that with a 40ton ^^

About 20 minutes south of the Sudbury PetroPass is a huge Truck Inspection Station where you can park overnight. There is no building there as it is strictly for mobile inspections. Spent many nights there. There is also one on the northbound side directly across the highway.

Your video brings back fond memories of being blocked in during a snow storm in Longlac. I stayed there maybe an hour or two longer than I wanted to in the morning. I don't know if it's still there, but the GM cold weather vehicle testing centre is in Kapuskasing. Kapuskasing has nothing on Steinbeck for cold weather though.

My anxiety levels went sky high watching you drive thru the snow. Just did that down here in the Twin Cities on Tuesday and Wednesday, we ended up getting 14 inches of snow Tuesday and Wednesday. I drive a 28 foot Freightliner and it was nerve wracking, mentally and physically drained at the end of the day from all defensive driving.
