@@FUNFLL Yup, I hate the feel of certain fabrics without being autistic. Some people have a more emotional connection with different senses. For most people that is smell, but for some it is tactile. I love the feeling of flannel or fresh/new sheets and I've had partners that couldn't understand the appeal or sometimes even notice the difference.

I'm using sheets with a decently sized hole in them because all the new sheets I've tried suck. I have no idea what thread count or material composition my old sheets are.
I took an autism test for giggles and the result was my expected pretty unlikely.
You spend almost a third of your life on your bed sheets. If the feeling of your sheets and clothes don't matter to you, then I think you're the odd one out.

bro it was so bad when i was growing up, if my sheets or blankets were washed it'd feel horrible and id refuse to sleep if it wasn't fixed, my sheets also had to be completely flat with no wrinkles. Im better now but its still a big issue to me

I understand that there's some discomfort in some fresh textiles, but a high thread-count cotton will be itchy until a few washings, then it'll feel great. Dunno if tists can endure some short term discomfort for the long term investment?

Tip for improving the feel of new bed linen. Buy high thread count cotton and wash them a few times with heavy fabrics like a few pairs of jeans before use, it removes sizing and any other excess chemicals that they may have come into contact with during manufacturing and breaks down the initial stiffness of the thread. Only buy silk or satin sheets that are labeled machine washable, and always launder your linens before first use. Enjoy.

I just got new sheets, and they feel very "fibrous" and "hot", like they're made of cotton, and absorbing & re-emitting a lot of body heat. However, no, they're polyester. In fact, it turns out they're the exact same Amazon listing as my previous sheets, just a different color & no pattern.
The only difference is that my previous sheets absorbed a lot of dead skin & body oils & gunk over the 3 years I had them, and I'm used to that.
