Nice to see Goodyear make a more serious off-road tire. I went on a trip with ten trucks for nine days last year and only one vehicle had a puncture. A new Ford Bronco with the factory Goodyears, but it had two separate punctures.

They came on my truck when I bought it. It's a 13chevy 2500hd 4x4. I put close to 80k on that first set. Just got off a set of the goodyear ultra terrain ats which weren't that bad. Just didn't get the miles like the duratracs. So now I just got a set of the duratrac rts plus a new set of bilstein 5100 shocks on all 4 corners and it drives nicer then when I got it! Best tire for me here in the cascade mtns in Washington state.

I ran a set of the old DuraTracs and was not impressed by their wet snow and ice performance. I tried a set of the new Goodyear Wrangler Ultra-Terrains and fell in love! Amazing grip in all conditions along with incredible wear. I was hoping that the new DuraTrac RTs would upgrade to the Ultra-Terrain rubber compound, but the rep said it was the same old compound. Too bad. I may try the new RTs if I can't get the Ultra-Terrains in a bigger size.

I've been a Duratrac fan for years except for the noise and performance on ice. I recently purchased a set of RTs, and after 1,200 miles, which included very icy conditions, can attest those two issues have been resolved. I'm extremely pleased with the new RTs on my 2013 Jeep 2 door, Rubicon. I also love the 3 ply sidewall and can run them comfortably at 28 psi on the highway.

This video just leaves me with more questions. Assuming the Oz market spec is no different than US spec, where Duratracs have been a huge success. The new RT is available both in LT and non-LT in the US. Both 3PMSF rated in the sizes for my F-150 (275/60-20). Both E load rated, but the LT has a higher service description (123/120 vs 115). Not sure of sidewall ply differences in the RT vs LT-RT.

Lastly a little detail often ignored is how light the original duratrac weighs, the unsprung weight comes with many advantages.
