I would like to see Taurus come out with a 6" or 7" model in the TH10 for hunters and maybe make it optics ready
And feed heavier rounds
@@LWRoad yes definitely feed heavier rounds
Cool a 10mm taurus I didn't know they even made one .
Yep
I was anxiously waiting for your video. 🤩
Thank you my friend, it’s been a long time coming!
The first time you fired it in double action you let the hammer down by pulling thr trigger and holding the hammer spur, which at the time suggested you did not know it has a decocker? Pushing the 'safety' all the way down decocks the hammer. Due to the way the decocker works (engaging a block for the hammer before releasing the sear) means that if you ride the safety when shooting, you are technically manipulating the hammer block, and/or preventing the block from moving out of the way. Obviously that could cause an 'issue' where the hammer falls but does not go forward far enough to strike the firing pin. You can tell that was exactly what happen by examining the position of the hammer after pulling the trigger at (8:01) where the hammer clearly did not go forward - striking the block instead of the firing pin. It is not an operational issue, it is a grip issue.
Not going to start an internet flame on whether there is a right way to hold a handgun - but if you put your right thumb down under the controls (right hand shooter), then your left thumb over the right, or perhaps inline along the frame in front, there would not be an operational issue (along with 'fixing' 95% of all 'function' issues people have when shooting handguns..)
As for the 220gr loads, it simply look like the bullets are seated too long for the ogive. May not be an issue with other brand 10mm handguns, but just like some ammo doesn't shoot accurately in some handguns, others may not feed reliably. They look stout, so could be grip pressure also.
What started out as a promising firearm went south with that heavy ammo. I want to like this gun but, not at this time.
While I have fired many rounds of these Buffalo Bore through my M&P 2.0, it does cycle them cleanly. I’ve fired lots of 180 & 200 grain Buffalo bore through it. No issues.
Thank you for your videos
Appreciate it sir, I hope they can resolve this with a next gen, everything else about the firearm I love.
Many stock 10 mm pistols must have the spring replaced with a heavier one when using hard cast heavy loads. For example, Tanfoglio 6” 10mm Hunter pistols come with heavier springs. This is the cause of the jams in this video.
Have u tried this then ?
Where and how do u replace the springs ??

Cool thank you for the info and test I like the idea of a hammer de Cocker safety 👍
Thanks @michaelbrooks, same, wish that was the standard for polymer 10's instead of striker fired honestly.
It's similar to the HK USP. Good system.
My dear, I have a humble request.
Taurus launched the 3-inch 327 Defender Toro on the American market.
But here in Brazil we won't have this revolver.
Could you please test it?
I didn't find any test of it on CZcams
@PabloSniper, unfortunately I probably will not be testing that one
LWRoad, do another video with this Taurus TH 10mm. Shoot various ammo with it 😊
I hope they do a 5in barrel version and do away with the decocker or make one that is SAO.
Yeah haven't heard anything further about expanding the line, I imagine if it is popular enough they would expand.
@@LWRoad yep I'm getting one as is so hopefully we buy more they make more.
Taurus used to make an OSS model in 9mm and 40 and 45 acp with a 5.25 inch barrel. Wish they would bring it back.
Why? Just get a double stack 10mm 1911 from RIA. The 10mm gets more than enough energy out of a 4.25" barrel.
The TH series are basically updated PT809,PT840and PT845 models with new slide cut and better stippled frames. They have been around a while and seem to be good quality and value. I have owned a few but did not keep them. Magazines were hard to come by and are very expensive for a budget gun. I have the Sig X Ten and S&W M&P 2.0 10mm. I prefer them. I have had good and bad experiences with Taurus but the only one I kept is the PT99.
Ah nose up ftf with 10mm Buffalo Bore. Quite familiar. Finally went back to my Glock 20 oem spring and I have it working. What weight recoil spring does that Taurus use? My 20 would not run on a glockstore 20# tungsten spring. Especially the BB Heavy
When Chuck shot it he also had trouble with it feeding hard cast Underwood. But it ran regular fmj fine. Hopefully they can resolve the hardcast feeding issues.
Too bad CZ has not kept the P-09 & P-07 current - have not seen an update in years. This TH10 has got me wishing for a P-09 /07 in 10mm with a factory optics cut!! Truth told it’s gonna take many many rounds, trouble free, for me to put Taurus up on the top shelf. Great weather!! Love shooting in the snow like that!!
I had the same thought. A 10mm p07 would be awesome!
@@matthewellis2673 p07 is a dead nutz reliable EDC- hard to come by a new copy these days did it ever come in .40?
@@miketaylorID1yes
Taurus th10-c sounds real good! Leave the slide and barrel the same size. Drop the grip to the th40c size. Offer the full size magazines and the sleeve with the compact just like the 9 and .40. Or just put that slide on the th40c. That would be a nice carry gun. I know it aint for bears but that .45acp. Tauras is giving people more than any other firearms manufacturer. From small, compact to full size. X versions xl versions. 9,.40,10,.45. They're just lacking on the .380 .
Pushing against the top of the barrel aka barrel hood
I had a TH40 but sold it because I needed money at that time. Never had an issue with it.
That's what I hear universally about the TH40 and TH9. 10mm is always a different animal to get to run reliably though
Oh hey Dave, you got Daniel J O'Neil's name twice in your outro, just letting you know! Great show, even funny with Chuke's shenanigans! :D
Haha so good I had to mention him twice lol
My experience so far with Taurus magazines has been that they dont like to be full of my carry ammo. My G2c .40 s&w will run 10+1 180 grain fmj, no problem. The Hornaday critical defense 165 gran ftx has ran no problem 10+1. If the gun loads them all. If i rack the slide back on the Hornaday with a full magazine it usually does exactly what was happening with that 10mm. Sounds far stretched but, I wonder if the tolerances are too tight with a new magazine spring and certain ammo.
I'm at about 750 rounds with my S&W Performance Center M&P 10mm, and it's feeding everything, including the Buffalo Bore hard cast. I was cautiously optimistic about this Taurus, but I'd have to be confident it could handle heavy loads. Too bad.
Great gun
Fn frame feels great ..
I love the FN510, however I did test something else coming up that would as of now be my first choice for summer woods 10 carry
Dude, this new SIG would be my go to if I wanted to run 10, so so so impressed with how this shot
Cool video
Thank you sir
I never seen the hellcat gun on your page yet
Chuke got you! LOL!
Yep lol
I need this sights cut ready TH10 “TORO”
Taurus needs to redesign the safety/decocker away from the shooters grip so when firing the pistol, the recoil doesn’t allow the shooter to accidentally decock the pistol to double action like @8:01 and after.
Good insight
You guys got Chuked!
Haha totally!
I have a TH9 and I accidently decock it by riding ontop the safety. Looks like that was happening here as well.
That could have been actually
My thoughts exactly!
Demonstration of why an external hammer is advantageous.
True, very.
About the 230 gr Double Tap..., wondering if a RIA 1911 10mm could handle that.
Looks cool but ftf with the heavy BB rounds would be a deal breaker for me.
Agreed, it is for me as well.
I must be lucky I have not had a bad torus yet. 😅
Great video. Time load some hard cast to the gun and do some range time. 220 quite heavy try 200gr hardcast
It's Chuke's pistol so he'll have to do that if he wants to
I bet it'll run 200gr just fine, or maybe not 🤔
Is the 45 version more reliable?
No idea I haven't shot it
I really like this addition to the line. If/when it comes with an optic plate, I will really consider it. Just curious...does it reliability feed/fire .40 s&w?
I didn't test that so I couldn't speak to it. Perhaps Chuke would do that.
I really have zero clue why anyone makes a pistol that’s not read dot ready anymore
Am I missing something? What were all of the click no fire requiring a second trigger pull. Light primer strikes? Click is not bang.
Yes light primer strikes. From a case lot of S&B 180 gr. Recock the hammer and second strike on the primer was igniting.
@@LWRoad So this gun can’t handle S&B? Something wrong with the gun. At least it has second strike capability. I will wait for gen 2.
So it doesn't take Sig mags.
Any word about a compact version?
I haven't heard anything
Why was he doing the pull the trigger drop the hammer?
TH9c has a spring loaded decocker. Kind of seems like beard guy doesn’t realize this isn’t 1988. There’s spring loaded decocker a now.
Good review but man,it bums me out that it can’t handle the big loads. 😔
I like the look , but jams and I'm not feeling the carry part with that pistol.
Jamming little thing
Unfortunately
Yup, company's continue to release pistols, especially 10mm which I love that are not ready for market. Keep up the good work.
Thank you sir @@Jimbowiejr
now I feel like it's a challenge to buy a bad torus 🤔😂
The Springfield shot the 220gr didn’t it, if I remember
Yes it did
Good evening Brother
Good evening my friend good to hear from you
I will say I like this gun, Maby the gun needs a break in period, or Maby its failures with the platform. It’s cheap enough to take a chance. It doesn’t come optics ready which kinda bumbs me out, cause…why?
It feels great in hand , but inevitably would be in the safe because there’s other stuff that does its job better, but I still like the gun despite its failures, it’s a new gun many they can turn it around and make it more reliable and optics ready and it will be a contender,
or I’m just a sucker for hammer fired pistols.
Maybe's just me, but every time Taurus knocks it out of the park, I get all warm and fuzzy inside.
It's just u.
@@johndoee3850 HA!
Doesn't BB have a 200gr? That little change may work.
I think Chuke played a trick on you.
Haha makes me wonder
TGIGG! Thank God I Got Glock! :P
With the exception of the Gen 5 20 yes that has been my experience so far with Glock
@@LWRoad I’m loving my 20.5 MOS!
Taurus ♉ 🐂 against a bear 🐻? Thats the question. ♠️🎩🎯🎱🇺🇸🏁🇮🇱🇺🇦🔱🌻🌸🏵️🌼🏴☠️🏹
Hard nope for me, if it doesn't run 220 gr then I'm out.
@@LWRoad agreed 💯
Same, but this new SIG is going to be HOT, it blew me away In testing.
I enjoyed shooting this a lot, but not being able to cycle everything is a show stopper for me, like another dude mentioned, no optics mount, why?
I don't see much point in a 10mm pistol that can't handle the heavy stuff.
Me neither
Too bad it isn’t reliable with the hard cast…or the s&b
Yep, moving on
Hard Pass, I already have one S&W paper weight.
Unfortunately I had the same conclusion. Not running 230 gr would be one thing but not even running 220 gr is another. Not the outcome I wanted but it is what it is
@@LWRoad Smith has got my 10mm now, I sure hope it comes back working. Will not hold my breath
Wait until the he drops the SIG video next! That’s one to look out for bud
Springer precision HD mag springs fixed my S&W m&p10mm. It went back to them and they didn’t do anything that I could see. I also polished the feed ramp which seemed to help. Since changing mag springs it has gone 500’ish rounds without a stove pipe or misfeed.
Feed ramp and first half of chamber is what I usually polish!!! That way the round doesn't catch on the roof of the chamber@@robertneal4112
Those weren't light strikes. He was hitting the decocker 🤦♂️
Good job Taurus? If a 10mm pistol won't reliably shoot full power rounds, then it is nothing more than a 40s&w. Bad job Taurus.
Yep, need a Gen 2 or back to the drawing board
It probably has more to do with the length of 220gr bullets than power levels. It should run 140-180gr full power loads just fine.
@joshklaver47 should is the correct word. It should run all commercially available ammunition reliability. Especially dangerous game ammo. Otherwise, it is junk that might get someone eaten alive.
Glock 20 Gen 4 is still the only 10mm on the market that's 100% proven.
100% agreee just suck that they not civilian friendly in Massachusetts 😪
No Glock isn't, at least with heavier real 10mm loads. I've yet to see an reliable hi cap 10mm out there.
@aaronwilcox6417 Well, I'm basing it on LWRoad's videos testing 230gr Doubletap ammo. He tested almost all the new 10mms and his old Gen 4 Glock 20. The Gen 4 ate em up. Every other gun choked. Smith, Sig and Springfield.
Gen 4 Glock 40 10mm is proven.
Looking like a BIG Hell NO on this Taurus 10mm way too many problems. I was having high hopes for this pistol.
Yep pass for now.
Still a Taurus…😢😢😢
Was he being funny 🤔
How can you "love, love, this gun" when it misfired at an obscene failure rate ? Everyone knows that 10mm is of no interest except for fanboys following ChukesOutdoors who want to carry 10mm for bear defense because they are too limp wristed to handle .454 casull or .44 magnum. I handled Taurus TH10 and I agree it has wonderful, fantastic features -- but it is worthless as protection against bears if it cannot feed heavy hardcast rounds and misfires due to light primer strikes. At this particular point, I would rate the gun, based on your video as a complete failure. The gun is about $450 which proves the age old adage, you get what you pay for -- in this case junk. Nevertheless, I sincerely hope that Taurus will work out the quirks and offer the gun with 5" - 6" barrels so as to maximize the energy of the round. In the meanwhile, I am more inclined to carry a .44 mag wheel gun that can reliable sling hardcast bullets in the vicinity of 1,000 Ft Lbs ME
SAMMI spec 10mm is 1.260 what do those BB measure?
CHUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUKE!!!!
HA!
not long get a Glock haters that's whom the 10mm was made for
Did I miss it, where did you find Frontier Man? 😂
FN is 😂😂.. That is still a taurus. I am not shocked it is having problems. There's no way on Earth I would be hiking in bear country with a taurus anything on my hip.. That gun had all kind of problems. And here this dude is talking about He loves the gun without being Sarcastic? sound so disingenuous.. I'd rather carry a Glock 27 while hiking than that Taurus
It also needs a break in period of 500 rounds then all the problem would probably be knocked out It's all about experiences glocks have alot of issues as well like jams, double feed, stove pipe, the recoil ring breaking
Glocks quality control has been going down hill and since Taurus moved to Georgia the quality of their new G series and TH guns have been amazing
