  • I head west from Yulara, Northern Territory to check out Lasseter's cave & tell the story of Lasseter's lost gold reef. Riding past Uluru - Ayers Rock and Kata tjuta - The Olgas on my Honda Supercub Postie bike.

I've always got time for a Super Cub video. Thanks for sharing.
I have traveled most of the US, and I hope to see the world next; this looks very interesting.
If you ever make it to the US, get some bike path maps / books from ebay and a "Trail Closed" sign to hang on your bike.
The bike paths and national road 40 can help get you around the country and avoid fast highways. 40 has multiple lanes and was replaced by interstate 70.
The sign will allow you to pass through any area that has people using the path; it's rare to see others on the trail, and you're gone before anyone has time for a second look.
Most of the system is paved and easy to ride.
Northern New Mexico and Utah are beautiful.
Any place along the Colorado River is beautiful. Yellowstone is pretty but very remote.
The roads in Wyoming east of Yellowstone are very long, fast (80 mph) with nothing in-between. Would not be fun on a Super Cub.
The cross-country trail system goes east through missouri and follows the Ohio River through the midwest. Avoid the cities; the rural people along the countryside will let you camp in their barn yards and use the well water pump.
Nobody will harass, harm, or rob you. They will help as much as they can.
Almost nobody knows what a Super Cub is, but they are not threatened by them compared to other motorcycles. The smaller cities will have Honda motorcycle/ atv dealers to get parts from. Not likely to have stock, but they will likely sell you a critical part from a new motorcycle model on display and replace it later since you're traveling through.
They usually have some mini-moto in stock. The CT series has always been the most common of the Honda mini moto's.
I have a rebuilt red / white 1964 C102 Super Cub with Lifan 125cc electric / kick start, 4 speed semi auto, knobby tires and a 2022 red CT125.
I rebuilt the 64, painted it red, and added baskets like ED's old bike.
Last I heard, ed's red bike disappeared going through customs in France.
I saw Rachel's old bike in the background of a video after that. So I think he still has it, but it's in England, and Ed had been staying in the Moab Utah area when not working.
Don't know where he is at now, hope for another video.

Good one Jeff, just made comment on FB as I have a personal connection with this story through my uncle, who was the pilot on the doomed 1930 expedition. I was hoping you;d find the reef!

Glad to see you back in 2024 with a great video. Planning to head out to the desert on my postie and looking at wet weather gear. I have seen you with some different jackets. Do you have any recommendations?

    • @Jeff4fun
      @Jeff4fun  Před 3 dny +1

Hi Anna, all I use for wet weather is plastic jacket & pants that fit over my riding gear. Works ok. If you're doing your trip in Winter it should be dry. Have fun. Cheers Jeff
