      O seinnidh mi dàn do eilean mo ghràidh
      Far an d' fhuair mi m' àrach nuair bha mi nam phàist',
      Far am bi mo chridhe gu deireadh mo latha,
      Ann an Eilean Uibhist an eòrna.
      Ged 's fhada bhon dh'fhàg mi eilean mo ghràidh
      'S a thàinig mi Ghlaschu 's a rinn mi ann tàmh,
      Tha machraichean Uibhist nam chuimhne a ghnàth
      A' cumail mo chridhe gach latha rium.
      Ach fàgaidh mi baile na cabhaig 's nan sràid,
      Is cuiridh mi m' aghaidh air monadh is sàil,
      Is gabhaidh mi 'n t-aiseag à Mallaig gun dàil
      Gu Uibhist mo ghràidh is m' eòlais. (2x)
      I'll sing an ode to the isle I love , where I grew up
      I remember it and keep it in my heart even though it's a long time since I left for Glasgow
      But I will leave the busy city and return to the moors, I'll get the ferry from Mallaig without delay

    Hello, Iain! Just by chance, have you got anybody's recording of "Gruagach Loch a Ròg"? Especially Finlay MacNeill, but anybody would be great. I love that song...

      @UISTMAN59  Před 3 lety

      I don't although I thi nk I have heard him singing it. Do you think it would have been on his Croft Recordings cassette tape> It is n't of his Temple Records LP. Possibly Na h-Oganaich sang it but I don't recall that one. www.bbc.co.uk/alba/oran/orain/gruagach_loch_a_rog/

      @@UISTMAN59 Na h-Òganaich did sing it, that’s how I know it at all. But I heard Finlay MacNeil's recording on Na Dùrachdan, and I'd love to find it.
