I got $1.00 a week, lol. I had to do many chores to get that. If I skipped one, the money went down. We got an extra $.50 when we made good grades but that only happened when report cards went out. This was back in the early 70's when a bag of chips & a coke costed $.50. You could go roller skating for $.75. I saved my money mostly on that, lol. Awww, it was so much more simpler back then.

Mom is at fault. Own up to it. Tough love is good parenting. Try it. Giving her a $1,000 is not love. You're giving her a disadvantage in life.

she's an amazing mother. i don't condone what she did to her daughter but i can tell she's capable of being a great mother because she still cares & she wants to do better for herself & most importantly of all, her teen. she now understands that what she did is not out of love, it's out of pain. unhealed pain can cause more pain. it's abusive of her to do that but i wouldn't say that she's a bad person. she seems like an amazing lady & i think she just needs support to do better for both her and that girl she's given birth to. maybe if she would use more compassion for herself and build up her self-confidence while she has the support she needs to have, so that she can support and care for her more better. in that way, i think that child would feel more confident and capable in a way that her happiness isn't limited & she can do anything she sets her mind to. i think this is what the video is about.
At 13-14, I got $15/month. It was a nice little income at the time, I was grateful. But I figured I had to pull the plug and let myself earn my own around 14-15.

When I was her age I got £5 a week and it went to £10 a week after 16 years old. And I HAD to help out with the house and chores and do well in school and the only reason it went to £10 was bc I had to pay for public transport to get to school and my parent was kind enough to assist with paying for the trips.
