    I've been wearing the Suunto X-Lander Military for almost 8 years now and i can tell you it's a beast, my brother had a Suunto Core Military and that one too was a helluva watch, but the X-Lander imo is a little bit sturdier.. now he changed to an Apple Watch an I changed to a Garmin Instinct Solar Tactical and i can easily say that this little fella is as resistant as the X-Lander but with waaaay more functionalities (first of all the GPS). So in my little knowledge I have on this topic (since I only had these two and my brother's experience) I can say that even if the X-Lander and the Core are awesome watches there's a better one that wasn't even mentioned in this list. Hope I've been helpful to someone.

    I'm sure any foe would love you to have a GPS watch 🙄 Something that beeps loudly, would be a bonus 👍 Mobile phone, even better 💥

  • @SiCrewe
    @SiCrewe Před rokem

    I'd seen the Suunto Core worn by several people who should know how to pick a rugged watch so I decided to buy one.
    The paint chips off the bezel VERY easily which, at first, just creates a patina of wear but after a year or so all the paint will be gone and, at the same time, the bezel starts to feel really "loose".
    The real show-stopper, however, is that the buttons start to get clogged with dust and debris and jam.
    After about 6 months I noticed the buttons becoming "sticky" and after 18 months it'd got to to the point where I have to tap the case to get the buttons to operate.
    Worst case; if the button that operates the light jams then the light will remain on constantly and the battery will go flat within a couple of days... which is not great if you take the watch off for a couple of days, go to wear it again and realise the battery is flat.
    Honestly, I've bought watches in petrol stations that were more rugged and reliable than the Suunto Core.
    The Core has lots of nice features and if you're the sort of person who wants a watch for when you go hiking at the weekend it might be for you but I bet very few soldiers replace the Core with another one.
