- Hey loves! Today I'm comparing some of the NARS Natural Radiant Foundation shades. I've been on a mission to find my perfect match. For so long I thought I was in the shade Tahoe but recently I've been feeling like it was coming off too ashy on my skin tone. I've had a couple of subscribers request a comparison video. I don't have a color in NARS and usually mix Tahoe and Syracuse in my case. NARS needs golden shades for tan, deep and dark people. In my case, something between the shades I use.
I have Tahoe and Cadiz as well and I reach for Cadiz more. Tahoe was a little too light but Cadiz I find a tad too dark lol. You are right Nars definitely needs to add a medium/dark with a true golden undertone.

Honestly NARS shades drive me crazy lol. They’re always close but not close enough. I keep bouncing between Tahoe and Cadiz as if something will change lol. Literal insanity.
But I keep trying because of the formulas 😩

They all are like that MAC NC 45 had me looking ashy and I felt people were starring! And, we know when they are starring cause you look good! But couldn’t do anything with that. Sometimes the way some explain The undertones is ambiguous and I don’t themselves! If have a green vein you’re warm, and I do, but warm make is too orange on me! Lately I hear a lot about neutral 😩

I need a shade between Cadiz and Caracas. This is why I don’t own Nars. They need more colors. The days of mixing are over.
Girl I knew u would like Cadiz! Even if u did a pump of Tahoe for the undertone and a pump of Cadiz for the depth it’ll be good. I hate to mix but we gotta do it sometimes. Thank u for the tutorial ❤️

You & I wear the same or similar shades. I had to give up on Nars. Tahoe has good undertone but is too light. Cadiz I thought was good, but it’s too pink. Moorea looked weirdly neon yellow on me. Huahine is just off. So, had to throw in the towel, too many other brands that match well.
Sorry to comment so late but did you find another good brand and shade? I have these same issues with the Nars Foundation
@@BeautyNGlamour I use simpler ingredient make up now to help prevent acne. Alima Pure mineral powder in shade Warm 7 mixed with a tad of Warm 8 is my everyday choice. Also Au Naturale Mumbai is an excellent match as well. You can mix either of these powders w a drop of water to turn them into a liquid (with each use) if you prefer a liquid. Mumbai also comes in a stick foundation (it has coconut oil in it, so I can only use it for special occasions which sucks cause I like it a lot). If you try them out let me know what you think.
But to answer your question, my perfect color match in a more standard formula is Prescriptives Antelope (can only be ordered online). HTH
Wow just saw that Prescriptives is going out of business. Another great color match is Flesh Toffee ( I think) and Lancôme had a good match 465 (I think).
@@Vfd270 oh no!! I hate when they discontinue the good stuff. I’ve been wanting to try more clean, simple brands of foundation but hadn’t found a good one. I’ll look into the Alima Pure and for general mainstream the Lancôme one. Thanks so much for replying!

You could use Tahoe in the centre of your face and Cadiz around the periphery
I think Tahoe is a good match for you maybe if you mix them since you already have both Tahoe and Cadiz now 🤷🏽♀️
Thank you so much for making this video! It’s so hard finding the right shade for us “in betweeners.” I have to blend my Revlon foundations. Thank you for comparing these shades specifically.
foundation matching is so interesting bc i have always been Cadiz in the All day luminous (soooo bummed about it being discontinued!) i got lucky as it was one of my first foundations and matched me perfectly- and the finish was too good :/ i’m about a shade darker than you and used to match perfectly. i’m curious to know what Cadiz is like in the other formulas!
This is my frustration as well. I am so happy I am not alone. I def go back and forth between those 2 shades. My goodness, it is a challenge. People assume there are shades for us but I would love to have an exact one
Tahoe is your match
I wanted to find a shade for me in Nars so badly I got Tahoe cuz I'm olive neutral but it's way to orange on me. I got Syracuse too but it's a tad too pink on my olive skin. I wished they had neutral olive shades cuz the formula is really nice
thank you for this!!! ive been so confused lol.. the nars shades are just funny.. or maybe its me.. i always seem to be either too light or too dark for the foundations and theres no shade inbetween.
Yes they need Golden not orange
So glad I found your video. I just found out I'm a peachy undertone and I've being lasting after sheer glow after I bought Macao online (too dark and toooooo neutral).
I haven't found a perfect match in NARS foundations. I got a bit frustrated and just stopped. I still have a tinted moisturizer from them, but it's WAY too dark. I bought it for vacation one summer thinking I'd be more tan than I ever turned out to be. It was in Seychelles. I was delusional thinking I'd be that bronzed and gorgeous. Maybe I'll try Tahoe or Cadiz again. I think part of the problem is the shades seem to be different with different formulas. Maybe. I'm not sure. Something about NARS foundation just annoyed me.
T Hynson lol I totally understand! So frustrating! I hope they add in some new shades. It’s so annoying that the shades are different for each of their foundations. They don’t match up 🙄 Their foundations are sooo good...so I just keep trying smh lol

Cadiz actually has a peach undertone while Tahoe has a golden undertone. That's why they look different. I find that I can wear as light as Syracuse in the winter. I mix Syracuse and Huahine in the spring. Now that I've moved to TX though, I think I'll mix Cadiz and Syracuse for the summer... though I can wear Cadiz alone if I tan enough.
I have the same issue with Tahoe. It’s a good match but a touch too yellow. I find using Laura mercier medium deep translucent powder with a big fully brush helps (a puff or smaller brush makes it too dark). I use the regular translucent in the center of my face and under eye and the medium deep everywhere else and the warm tone of it helps tone down the yellow.
nannypans Ooo thanks for sharing that! I ended up giving my cousin my med deep powder since it was too deep. But now I think I’ll get a mini one to have for foundations like Tahoe lol Xo

I love Tahoe on myself at this point in time and we all go through the same thing. Use a blush that’s what I ended up doing

Hi There! I find it really hard to pick up foundation nuances through the videos. I thought Tahoe was perfect on you. I was shade matched for NARS at Sephora. I asked them to pick out some shades that were in line with my Beautiful Skin - 10W; Fenty 370: Eaze Drops -14.
They prepared a palette with Tahoe Moorea and Cadiz, I think. Tahoe was the absolute best match for me. Turns out I prefer a lighter shade with golden undertones. You actually look “lighter” than I am so I surprised you’re not thrilled with Tahoe. I wore it for the first time today and the finish was absolutely radiant. I felt it had melted off by the end of a long day, though. I think I get longer wear with the Charlotte Tilbury (it actually goes on matte with me). I will play with different primers - plus I didn’t powder midday. So now I have two new foundations and I actually love them both

Tahoe is leans beige, Moorea orange and Cadiz pink. I’m probably Tahoe.
