    Depending on your position onboard you should take few formal clothes. In those ships where staff is allowed on guests areas (again it depends on your position if you are allowed on not) it is required to dress formal to go on a guest restaurant, bar, shows and all sorts of guests areas. As a spa staff I enjoyed guest areas all the time, and you can't be in your uniform (unless you're working).

    Sound advice, right here. Any soldier, worldwide, would say the same. Plus, the more uni's you have, the longer they last, because they are worn less.

    It sounds like similar advice I give to fellow cruisers, lol. My first few cruises I packed all sorts of things that I thought I would wear--but eventually I learned to just pack clothes that are comfortable, and maybe 1 or 2 nice outfits. Thanks Lucy!

    Lovin' your work as always Lucy but... what about the chaps at formal nights, being in guest areas such as eating in the specialty restaurants or playmakers bar or even just being on deck not in uniform ? I will be working for RCCL as Aqua stage crew and my list says bring black stuff lol Keep up the good work and thank you for sharing your knowledge with us newbies :-)

    I find my main goal is to be as comfortable as possible. Some of the cruiselines particularly Cunard require stricter dress code. I just try to get away with trying to satisfy their rules but staying comfortable. On a formal nite I will wear a jacket slip on tie or bolo with an open collar shirt. I will get away with button down shirts as much as they let me and if I need a button on down shirt don't buttunbtop button. I am a comfort freak.

    how would you voluntarily 'attend' formal night? just wal on the deck and take photos? especially if your ranking isn't allowed in passenger areas?

    Do you bring full size toiletries. I am thinking of the liquid limits on planes and just wondering if you bring your toiletries or buy them at the crew shop/ port

    • @CruisingAsCrew
      @CruisingAsCrew  Před 3 lety

      I honestly try and take like 6 months of make up and toiletries with me if I have enough weight allowance, because you may not be able to purchase the specific brands you like in the ports you will be visiting.
