For some context - Mitch was not on the show to be interviewed, he was there to sit in on the news. It was most likely a last second thing to help Mitch sell tickets to a show that week and probaly was something Artie helped happen. It would happen often and what happened here is the usual - talk to the guest a bit, but then go on with the normal show (like taking phone calls about something that came up earlier) mixing the guest in a bit as it goes along. Robin probably had no idea Mitch was going to be on and the only thing she remembered about him (this is only 2nd time on) were drug stories him and Artie told the first time. Not defending her, but Mitch showing up probably threw her off a bit and she might have been mad that he was interrupting her news segment, not sure. Chances are, that day was booked solid, so letting Mitch come on and push his show like this meant that Howard had to like him at least a little, but I don’t think Mitch’s comedy (more joke telling) was a great fit for sitting in like this and while people keep saying Mitch was offended or uncomfortable, I think Mitch was really nervous - even more so than usual

Artie is amazing man lol u can tell he's a big fan of Mitch. Man rip Mitch! And Artie rules! As always
Such an incredible talent gone way too soon and due to something so stupid. We all could use more of his humor these days. Rest in Peace, man.
Mitch should play the blind guy who sits in the bathroom giving restaurant customers paper towels & breath mints. He could give advice with his one liners lol. 🤣
R.I.P. such an awesome talent, a smart guy
that is a genuinely great idea, mitch would’ve been perfect for that.
@@cobussy Thank u 😎
That is really perfect! Good mind on you.
@@morbidmanmusic Oh thank u & its very kind of u to take the time to respond with a positive compliment. The best to u & urs.
Filing my receipt under "D" for donut. 😂
"You can't please all the people all the time and last night all those people were on Howard Stern"
It’s so weird that Mitch Hedberg said in the show, “can I put in my two weeks notice?“ And two weeks later he died.
Man I wish Mitch was still alive. Dude was great on the show. Wouldve been a great reoccuring guest
insecurity is a big part of what kept mitch down. you can sense how out of place he feels anywhere there's someone more famous than him. he was so terrified of bombing and artie did him a solid by getting him over so hard. there's no telling how bombed he was during this.
I think in this particular situation it's just Howard, he alpha's the shit out of a conversation, if you can't keep up he kinda runs ya into the dirt, credit Mitch for hanging in there the best he could, givne the poor shape he was in
Loved this guy!!!!!!
It's crazy he was just gone 2 weeks after this - he seemed so full of life. Hate to see the demons win... :( Rip Mitch! I still listen to your work and quote it from time to time. Loved your comedic mind.
Really? He seemed full of life???!?! At this point he was on That 70's Show and was making great money and he was High as a kite during taping and even in this interview and he only made it on here because his people kept him from doing more drugs leading up to this appearance. He's still CLEARLY high here and his jitteriness shows how much he was jonesing for a hit of whatever he could get his hands on.
He was so bad that his stand up "routine" was just a bunch of the few recycled jokes he could remember. His death was completely inevitable as getting and staying high held the highest priority and he continued to tour just to feed his habits.
Pathetic waste of sheer brilliance if you ask me.

Kind of harsh but he has been popping up in my feed and I had to come find an interview because I feel bad for the guy. Seems he doesn't even want to be on stage. Hides behind his glasses, eyes shut and has his hair covering for extra protection. And everyone keeps praising him for something that seems to be more of a crutch than an aid.
And his jokes were like oddly delivered one-liners dads would tell. Funny observations but so sad to watch a man deteriorate in front of everyone.
Your comment stood out from the people praising him and it might be a more reasonable observation than those mourning his departure.
Are those sunglasses prescription? No actually they’re just pretentious 😂
He was not comfortable in front of the camera or audience.
Ha, ha Classic Mitch!
Love it. Lol
Funny. Gone too early.
0:59 he HAD a drug problem. He still did, but he had one too.
RIP Mitch
He used to, too. RIP
I was waiting for him to say that as a response lol
🤣 He would of love that.
Really sad knowing he would be gone in just 2 short weeks from then. RIP, buddy. Great laughs.
man this is something you download right away before howards team takes it down
You were taken from us too soon. RIP Mitch!🙏
such a mean spirited interview
