Mischa Barton’s into it. So is Peter Gallagher. Rachel Bilson wants to do it too. We’re talking about an “O.C.” reboot! Reboots are in the air. With “90210,” “Full House,” Gossip Girl,” and so many more TV show resurrections, it’s inevitable, right? Half the cast is onboard. There are a few who might still need to be convinced. So what has the cast of “The O.C.” been up to since the show ended in 2007? For celebrities like Chris Pratt and Olivia Wilde, it’s been non-stop Hollywood magic. But a few of the castmates haven’t had it so easy. In fact, there has been just as much drama offscreen after the show as there was onscreen.
Mischa Barton struggled very publicly with mental health issues before landing her spot as a castmate on “The Hills” new show “New Beginnings.” Another “O.C.” castmate is going through a divorce. But is hasn’t all been bad. In fact, there are a couple of cast members who met their future spouses on set. There were weddings and babies, and happy endings. So the question is, would the old crew get back together for a modern day reboot? Peter Gallagher is all for it. Rachel Bilson said she’s open to it. And Mischa Barton’s all over it. It just might take a little convincing for a couple of castmates who want to put the past behind them. Why is that? And what exactly has happened to the cast of “The O.C.?”

The thumbnail is really cruel. She was on medication and it has severe side effects. That photo is her on a rough day. She's a human. That thumbnail just builds on top of a stigma that all mental illnesses make you "crazy".

People love to rip down people that have done well, made it careers that have impossible odds. They love to watch stars fall on hard times and gloat. That's why they buy the tabloids and watch the tabloid trash entertainment news shows. It used to be the Paparazzi Camera men would not release unflattering shots as they were protecting the person they were making the living from. That they had part of humane obligation to present them in their best light and image . Not to be that ""photographer"" that makes their living off of other people's misfortune and misery. Back when their was still a divide in journalism about quality and not the attitude of if it bleeds it leads with glee on air media personal face that it is "hard" news day with tragedy and blood guts that sensationalism is good for ratings.... Now they call it "engagements" for websites and the internet.... The more things change the more some of mankind's worst behaviors stay the same.

But that's not cruel, it's the real world, it happened. I'm happy that she got her life back on track but why should they hide anything?
Again don't get me wrong, i love the show and i love all the cast i'm just re-watching the whole thing now.

@@sunnyray4065 are you serious? Trust me I went through worse than a divorce and I struggled with depression for years, but if someone took my picture and I looked like that what was there to do ? And that's what happens when you become a public figure.

@@strayhorserecords Thanks I forgot that part, looking back I have a weird thought on that scene and her death. What if it was where Ryan was being shown, she was going to die young , as if it was her fate.. That he couldn't save her in any reality from a young death, but if he wasn't there at all, she would have died younger and worse off for not having been loved.

None of them seem to be in it for a reboot or reunion....I guess they grew out of the characters they use to play and really don't have any interest.
The kids were horrible to work with back then too. They were not happy with the show after and said it was ruining their career before it started. I love the show though
I rewatched all the seasons recently! honestly, it's wayy too iconic! regardless if they do a reboot or not, it's okay.. like Ben said "it's timeless", we could just rewatch it and bring back those beautiful times

Honestly, it’s probably a healthy thing that they don’t want to revisit their high school characters. It just shows that they have grown up and moved on.
Just discovered this during lockdown on an Italian channel. I love the show, but sometimes I get frustrated at the lack of development of the characters. I don't think a redo would be possible. It will become a classic of an era. So funny to see cell phones but no texting! Thank you all.

Hollywood needs to grow a pair of balls and bring some original scripts to life instead of going back to create sequels or starting reboots that are 20 years late and no one asked for.

I loved this show back then but that's it. It was good memories of the mid 2000's. The show doesn't need a reboot. A cast reunion maybe for EW but not a reboot. Stop pushing for it.

The actors didn’t sound too keen on a reboot. I don’t think there would be enough fans that could careless or not to make that happen .

I think they’ve forgotten the fact that if it wasn’t for the oc, most likely they’d be nobodies. They should be grateful for the show then again it’s no surprise they’ve gotten big headed since the show ended
It is always the case with these big shows from the 2000's. Whether it be OC or OTH . The actors always seem bitter and ungrateful which is so disrespectful to the fans
In this same video, it opens with Ben saying The OC is timeless… that doesn’t sound ungrateful. Also, Ben, Adam, and Peter are still friends to this day, and Rachel said this year that she adores Ben and that they recently hung out…and that she hung out with Adam two years ago. Rachel and Melinda are doing a podcast rewatching the show and giving commentary.
I hate how Chris Pratt always gets mentioned from this show season 4 was the worst.
Season three was the worse. My favourite seasons in order; Season 1,4,2,3 in that exact order. Excellent series. Brilliant timeless and modern original series at the time. Go OC!
The 3 thing that ruined the show was changing the producers, the replacement of the actor who portray the brother of Ryan and the death of Marrisa

Rewatching the show and I’m about to wrap it up. Season 4 is too bittersweet without Mischa in it. Can’t fathom what happen to her and it was a shocking twist to the show.

This would be the best thing to happen. Hands down The O.C was the best Teen age drama show in the early to mid 00's I was 12 when it aired, and never missed an episode. I would like if they made the original charterers who went to Harbor, parents now, and lets do it all over again just like The Hills, got New Beginnings, the time is now to get it going. Even if every one doesn't come back, they could still make it work. Like if Adam didn't come back it would still get ratings. As long as Peter, Kelly, Ben, Melinda and Rachel came back I think with them it would be successful enough to have at least a few seasons. Kelly, and Peter being grandparents now. I can imagine it.

Indeed!! House is where I met her.. even though I saw her briefly in the OC she was a small fry weird chick.. House, she was still weird and had all sorts of problems.. I doubt that woman will get married have 5 kids and a normal life, her choice.. people wonder why their life is so full of toxic stuff but when they stray from norms that make their human animal mind happy then there is no real question as to why..

They could have had a better final season with her character that what it was without her.

You always look for the worst photo you can find of the person to show them now. I’ve seen her now and she looks great. She doesn’t look like that. We’ve all had horrid photos snapped of us at a bad angle or day and went wtf, then the next day we look incredible in the photo.
2:40 dont forget "that 70s show" she made an appearance on one episode. If i partake. And i think in the season 3 of the oc. chris brown made an appearance as well. Also Melinda clark made an appearance too. On gothem. In season 3 or somwhere near 5. So theres alot of things she missed out on when researching this info. I didn't even look it up. I just know bc i watch most of these shows. I started watching the oc when i was 10. Now im 14

Too many people don't remember when The big Three Network Stations(in the USA) would make reunion movies for bringing the cast back together from popular TV Shows later on life with an ongoing story line, that was also a stand alone TV movie. Basically you got your characters as if you were looking on them later in life as if their show had never ended and events kept happening. We don't need another "Dukes of Hazzard"
Reboot/Re-imagined show would not do the same, fans would be hurt and new watchers may not take to it. Not everything can pull of a "Battlestar Galactica" which had so much hate for making Starbuck female......and it went completely opposite from light hearted family show, it was dark look at humanity (post 9-11 with their worlds/12 planets all nuked in blind sided attack, it had light moments and hope but the series show humanity in darkness) that asked a question of "why do we deserve to survive?" Which was put to the test.

How you not mention Peter Gallagher was on Law and Order SVU one of the biggest shows on television. He was on there longer then some of the shows you mentioned. But Mischa went downhill after the O.C.

@@giuliapicchiotti Marissa was already leaving to set off with her father. Her death was unnecessary and I doubt the writers had to let her die to satisfy Mischa Barton's wish to leave. I suppose it was some kind of punishment, to make sure she'll never be able to come back, because her leaving screwed up all the writers plans.

Luke almost looks like 20 years ago now. He is doing amazing and even he was an Idiot at the beginning of the series, he started to get my favourite because he changed alot to positive.
