In this CZcams video, we discuss India's ambitious plans for its railway infrastructure and the transformative impact it could have on the country's future. I explore the significance of projects like the Vande Bharat Express and the Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail (MAHSR) Corridor, highlighting their potential to revolutionize intercity transportation and stimulate economic growth. Additionally, we address the challenges facing India's current railway system, including issues with cleanliness, punctuality, and overcrowding, and how ongoing reforms aim to address these concerns. By drawing parallels with successful railway developments in countries like Japan, Europe, and China, we evaluate the potential benefits of investing in a modern, efficient rail network for India.

People should remember previous generation's politicians also argued against golden quadrilateral saying"why waste money in such projects when most indians can't afford even motorcycle?"
Hope people aren't this stupid in this generation.
Your comparison is wrong. Imagine if golden quadrilateral was made but only the super rich could drive on it, it won't take any freights and there already was a parallel road system (airplane in our example) was running alongside.
Bullet trains are nothing but a vanity project. Our current railway needs this money for up-gradation. Only 8 countries in the world run bullet trains and most of the developed world (read Nordic countries, Canada, Australia etc.) do not have them. Because it's a sheer waste of money, with ticket costs competing with airplanes. All this when your current tracks are in shambles and desperate for investment.
PS: For comparison, when Spain got its high speed train, they already had a vast network of 150+ kmph trains across the country. Went from that to 300Kmph. India still has overcrowded diesel trains where people travel on the top, but sure spend billions of loan money on one high speed line!

For a comparison, Spain, the poorest country among those that have bullet trains is $27000. You do the math and tell me how many years will it take for us to compete with them.
India needs to invest in current train infrastructure rather than spending money on vanity projects.
In the 1970s When Park Chung Hee the president of south korea built a 2 lane highway connecting Seoul to Busan pessimists cried rivers that he is spending aid money on tar and concrete while people are suuffering. There is no doubt under modi infrastructure is going bonkers whether its rail infra or road infra. But main problem is inter city infra is still shit. MCDs are still filled with courrpt people. Hope modi will take some extreme measures.
Our National Highway and Other Infra which are cities are going very good but our cities infrastructre is still shit , full of potholes road , no good managment , no good managment of garbage , corruption , Thw wires are other concern and many more things
it is because we do not care for our local governments. so many of us do not bother to even vote in municipal elections. We need to become better citizens. Modi alone can not fix everything. No one person can do it all.

People who are comparing Indian Bullet train project with Indonesia...
Must Understand...
In Indonesia Chinese workers and Chinese machines are doing the majority of work with Indonesian workers.
**But in India L and T(an Indian company) is doing the construction.**
**Electrical overhead wiring work will also be done by L and T**
Machines are also built and operated by Indian engineers. Only Chief engineer comes once a while from Japan to see progress and modifications.
**So technically India is learning how to make bullet train project**
**Just like we learned how to make world class Metro infrastructure**
And also JAPAN'S bullet trains are safest and best in the world.
"So asking for help again n again in future from Japan is not what India is thinking."
That's why it is taking time.
Additional info -- Indonesia's route length is 142 km with 4 stations.
**India's route length is 508 km (476 km elevated on pillars, including 21 km undersea tunnel) with 12 stations.**
"Also, Undersea tunnel will be made by AFCONS which is also an Indian Company.
So, it will take time.
*Source-Wikipedia.
One reason why it is taking time is we are learning to develop high speed tracks from scratch. While chief engineer come from Japan for inspection our engineer are the one doing all the ground work . Edit : I saw a few mocking government as Indonesia got a bullet faster than us , those fools don't understand the consequences it will have on their economy. It is a debt trap by china yet they argue.
Nope, The real reason for delay are seasonal environmentalists
They're also part of that nexus. Most of these get funded by external forces which very few people knows!
Funniest part is no one in China can do protests over these things😂😂😂@@3_oliXz

I think the 1.5 hours that gets wasted airport security making the minimum time by air at least 4.5 hours+ has a potential disrupt-able market for the rail sector since rail onboarding doesnt waste that much time in security and almost compensates the time advantage in the air route thru its exhaustive stations spread uniformly instead of select airports that mandate change of multiple forms of transport to reach the final destination .
security ring will also come in for high speed trains , its already in temples and high end malls so this will not be an exception.
@@kannantm2731so what's the difference
The only advantage will be the availability of frequent trains if one gets cancelled as opposed to flights
Also, security on trains, is a major issue, needs to be tight...
Short haul flights can't be entirely compensated.. both are required...
The real benefit is decongestion of roads... Which will be a godsend to the rest of ppl
one major issue , in nearly all cities in India , tones of garbage is lying along the tracks which looks so bad , I can confirm it for delhi myself
and who throws it ? not u or me But WE plus the illegal Bangladeshis and Rohingyas who live alongside
We need Vande Bharat for districts in states and bullet trains for travelling from one state to another

3. bullet train runs on electricity, compared to aviation fuel.
4. a lot of tier 2 cities will also use this train in between compared to flights.
We are too late. A country smaller than us indonesia got fully operational high speed rail system.
Better late than never ❤
complain congrss
Lol Indonesia operational high speed rail system is just 120km 😂
a 120km long line with by china or 500km+ long line build by japan(which 0% accident rate) chose wisely
Bruh don't compare ourselves with others. We r building this for "us" not for flexing to the rest of the world.
Nice video, thanks
There are more videos you can do related to Indian railways, please do more videos on this topic
Why is she talking in Miles?
Such great developments are going to push India for better future.
But at the same time I also feel that just like Vande Bharat, we need more specialized general and unreserved trains on Northern corridor to help ease congestion. Instead of increasing the number of these intercity passenger trains, railways has reduced those numbers.
the real problem is it is too late we need all corridors befor 2032
The problem is skilled workers in this field and it we do not even have enough skilled workers for metros😶, this field is still very newborn should've focused on it about 2008-09 and we could have fastracked it more than that 55% of it would even be completed by now

(Brilliant video as always)
One thing 'Why bullet train ?' people dont understand is 'Jet fuel is not going to get cheaper.' Once upon a time Delhi-Mumbai Flights costed 2500 now it cost min 4500 average is 5500. If I can travel from Delhi to Mumbai in 6-8 hours in around 4000-4500 rupees. I would prefer that and as cost of electricity goes down and fuel goes up. that 4000-4500 is not going to change much compared to drastic increase air fare.
Very nicely explsined in detai, and in very simplified way, any one can understand. Thank U Very Much.
Can you make a same video in our national language for our those citizens who are not very familiar with english ! Hope you will do so.
Thanks once again.
Chennai Bangalore separate passenger track is a mandatory one now. Hope the government implements it soon
Liked your excitement for future of India 🫡❤️🇮🇳
Me myself has witnessed the changing infra our station where Amrit Bharat stations are being developed by the railway to give much better to the passengers and make the overall experience better it's the overall vision of our country have as we voted for change and we're getting the change in many aspects not quickly but slowly we're on track to be better in each aspect with passing years❤ hope our opposition be more worry about things that are wrong and not about caste and regional division of our country wishing our 'Bharat' will be 'sone ki chidiya' once again in upcoming century ❤
Also with these projects the technical, engineering knowledge and experienced gained is immense. People often overlook the power of R&D even if a project fails after burning billions of dollars. The best example for it is the US mainly their defense industry.
In India, there's a pressing need for additional tracks, perhaps expanding to 6 to 8 lanes. We require increased frequency and cost-effective solutions, with two of these tracks designated specifically for high-speed trains.
ok then do it... what are you waiting for?
Good positive message Tina.
This video reminded me of the electronic chip in the notes journalism, during the note ban
Instead of bullet train, govt shud have built infra for transport like RRTS or Vande Bharat. Idk on what basis they r saying that 92000 people would use BT each day.
The 2 cities are economic Hubs, with this comes Important business and economic activity between the 2 cities. Vandebharat and all are amazing undertakings but they are still very slow compared to BT. Giving Businessmen/Commuters/Normal people the ability to get to another city, complete their work and come back in the same day seems extremely beneficial. When BT comes to shorter routes like Bangalore to Chennai we can see commuting possibly working out. (it has in Japan, it is very normal to see people commute or Come into Tokyo, Osaka or Nagoya from other cities(Sendai, Nigata, etc) out of the corridor and in for a day and leave in time for dinner. With all of this surely we will get huge traffic Influx. Vande can serve for travellers and people staying for a day or more, making it much cheaper for them while people who can afford it or need it for business can use the BT.
Impressive presentation 🎉

Im not leftist/rightist/centralist. But i give credit where its due.. bullet train does help, i know many say first improve the quality and service of local trains but we should not disregard anything before it is made. Im sure it will help in its own way. Though we need to improve our current trains too
Meanwhile Pappu - Caste caste caste caste, Adani Adani ambani 🤡🤡
We need more local trains and long distance general trains as well. This would reduce the traffic on airlines and roads. And the rules mentioned at the end are very important especially for Bengaluru and Delhi.
Her communication skills especially English was awesome👍👍👍
Well the cleanliness part in the train lies on the passengers as well,
If a passenger is littering anywhere in the train instead of using the dustbin every 15 minutes, then that train can never be clean, the cleaner will come and clean the train for 2 or 3 times max he won't be coming to clean every time.

When most of the traffic is between cities A and B quite far apart, high speed and bullet trains make sense.
And more sense when there are passengers ready to dole money for the services.

People of India need to learn a lot of civic sense and take general cleanliness as their own responsibility. Once this is achieved, we will see huge impact on the branding of India.
❤the max size heart I can but due to youtube constrains😂 for this video really a great one
Why say "miles" instead of "kilometers"? It's confusing. Isn't the primary audience Indians for this video?
I think we need to extend railway tracks lot then introduceing new trains so that many trains can increase their speed and once check average indian railway speed to other countries
bro to increase speed it needs to redo all its tracks thats why government is spending 100 crores i guess
Literally impossible for a lot of reason but most important is tracks dont support high speed and it's more economical to build new bullet trains than to upgrade tracks to 250km/hr as we neither have the rolling stock nor the tracks nor the signaling system
dedicated freight corridors will solve this problem. once freight trains are moved away, regular lines will be free and trains will run efficiently.
Based on the initial estimate of 1.08L Cr, JICA (Japan) agreed to provide 81% funding at an interest rate of 0.1%. While one can argue, why can't they fund to upgrade our existing railway network infra, the reason they ain't interested in these traditional projects where they can't bring their Japanese expertise and export potential. To understand their funding just go through the JICA India funding page, most of the infra's are in the urban space like metro, IUT, DFC etc which has good returns, and highly skilled human resources with an option of exports. They are already investing in large transportation projects such as MTHL or roads in the Northeast, apart from health, education, energy etc. (General trivia: Indonesia rejected JICA- Japan high-speed train proposal because they refuse to transfer technology while the Chinese agreed to share the technology and set the manufacturing capacity in the country)
I'm quite impressed with India's current performance..but talking about everything, I'll consider the nation as the realy developed one when technologies and manufacturing of wonderful things like bullet trains will be indigenous, there's still a long way to go.. R&D is still very neglected here...I hope the government will do positive in that sector too
correction : mthl costs around 2 bil dollars not 15

We shouldn’t only be looking within country. Till now one of the sector Indians are well known for is IT sector. With these efforts on Railways, Indians would also be known for running these advanced railway systems. Considering most of the developed economies demographics are aging, Indians can also build and maintain railways in other countries as we are doing in IT sector.

All the general boogie of all the trains are 10 times more crowded than its capacity. Now they are taking the Second class seats soon they will go to AC.
Today I came in general it's not too equipped
It's India where there is called season of mariage
There is rush too much due to labour person
Government are working to build train seperate for workers professional or non professional
For daimond you have to rush it to blade
That's what happening
Earning by action coach and using in expanding and other stuffs
So it's on you wait for some years or became decade laged
Which country has population like us only one
If you truly examine the situation you will get the reality
Don't became emotional think rationally
In china too there is trains which is so much equipped and even japan have some trains and metro full of rush
Beings cheapest has some problem
They can do one seat for one person but at price at international level for international benefit
More than Bullet Trains and Vande Bharat Trains, govt needs to improve the quality of general and sleeper classes which ferry more people and are always crowded and dirty. Not all can afford those premium trains.
Japan and India have very different weather , environment condition
Delhi to Mumbai route is the most crowded , be it plane ✈ or railway
Good information but the video would have been more interesting if music had been added throughout the video.
No risk no ishq, well the point is you cant play safe forever...growth as they say comes out of comfort zone
Because we want pride more than anything else.
People don’t realise that the bullet train will share load with short flights and save import of aviation oil
tons and tons of coal is burned everyday, to power electric trains...
fuel is wasted anyway, one way or the other...
I am not against development or growth of infrastructure but I don't this this is a good investment.
Our present trains are crowded and at peak capacity because of two major reasons:
1. They are cheap
2.Connectivity at almost all the stations (this makes them slower)
But these bullet trains are neither going to be cheap or stop at every station
Already the vande Bharat are more expensive than current trains and these bullet trains are going to be even more expensive so why wouldn't anyone take the flights instead of these trains? Why spend billions of dollars on new railway?
Do you want Quality and Pay
@@theowleyes07 but if I could get the same quality in a flight with shorter time to destination why would I opt for this?
Distance of 500-600km or lesser is better suitable for high speed rails even better than airplanes.@@justinesajijohn
