He's been 14 years in the NFL and an awesome magician but what I love most is his personality.

After watching Jon Dorenbos over and over again, the interaction, reaction and emotion from the judges and the audience, is definitely the best interactive and magical performance to date still!
I think Jon should have won this. I think the reason why ppl didn’t vote for him to win it was bc he was a NFL player. After he played for the Eagles for many years he went to play for my favorite team New Orleans Saints. Not to long ago he found out his heart was bad & he had to have open heart surgery. He was on Ellen today & she told the audience & the viewers at home that he had the open heart surgery just seven weeks ago. I pretty sure he had to retire from the NFL due to his heart problem. Which sucks & that just shows that your dream career can be taking away so fast. but I’m glad he’s still alive & recovering really well from his surgery & till doing magic tricks. I would love if he went on tour bc I would love to go see him in person & see these amazing tricks in person.
yeah, he's retired from football now due to injuries/ the surgery. Unfortunate but he still tours and does magic. He recovered well and lives a fairly normal life now. He got an honorary ring for the Eagles win at the superbowl
Sadly, he never got to play for the Saints. He failed the physical that is required with trades so I think it was voided. I believe that after he retired he helped out the Eagles. The Eagles owner has announced that Jon will be getting a Super Bowl ring. He was very important to the team during training camp and they were all sad to see him leave. Wouldn’t be surprised if he makes it into the Eagles Hall of Fame. Great career and a great teammate.
as far as i'm concerned, he still won. he is a great magician. he didn't give up on his dreams he chased after them. he is and will always be a winner in my book.
Every time I'm feeling down and kinda bummed out I go to this video and watch this amazing man and it brings me back to what is real in life! He came from hurt and pain and is now a super star! Thank you Jon Dorenbos for being you! You have no idea what your story and life means to me!

I just recently started watching AGT and found Jon Dorenbos...Wow so very cool! He should have won the whole thing in my opinion! The magic when the card came out of the drawn deck on the notebook still baffles me! He is a Champion in my book! Amazing man and an amazing story! Thanks Jon for the great laughs and dazzling magic!

The card trick with the drawing is probably one of my favorite magic tricks ever. Like Penn Jillette said in an episode of Fool Us: it’s nice to see a trick that has animation in it, where stuff moves, and you see it, and it’s NOT an iPad.

I think the tricks of the Clairvoyants are much easier to understand than Jons. They just use more technik than he does and they are two, he does it alone. And in my opinion he has much more likeability... I hope his wishes comes true and he can work as what he loves!

That 2nd trick was unique and amazing!
Best magic trick ever: Being traded and a doctor hearing a murmur in his heart during his physical screening and it saved his life. If he had gotten hit in the chest during a game there was a SOLID chance that he would have died on the spot.

Why Didn't the people vote for Jon ? Really messed up
Hungarians got talent (X factor) had a carzy, awesome dancing group. Always on the top. And the winner was a regular man from a village who sang some opera song. It was ok, but nothing special. People are people...
I would have been happy to see Jon win. He certainly deserved to at least finish second, with the Clairvoyants getting third. Jon was very entertaining, and he engaged his audience much more effectively than the couple.
As I see it, the issue was with the build. I think Jon's final illusion, while excellent, heartfelt and uplifting, was not the right note for the big final. It was a step down in WOW! factor from the two that came before it. I believe he would have been better-served if the "2s" illusion had been second or third.
From my viewpoint as an actor, director, and writer, I believe he ought to have built up by going from the great card counting card trick … greater "find ourselves" card trick … fantastic rising 5♣ card trick … seemingly impossible states predictions … spectacular drawings in a bottle illusion.
If that bottle trick had been the finale, I'm sure it would have sent the viewers into a frenzy of voting. It would for sure have put him in 2nd place, and might possibly have boosted him into the win.
Other folks' opinions may not concur with mine. Mostly because they're wrong.
Rules of PC: White single males cant possible have a chance against a couple or a little girl.
Which is why Michael Grimm, Mat Franco, and Paul Zerdin failed to win.

It's 2019 now and he will perform again on America's Got Talent: The Champions
Prayers to Jon as he faces heart surgery for an aortic aneurysm. Eagles medical staff obviously sucks since it wasn't found until he was traded to the Saints and they did a physical and found the issue. He should have won this competition hands down.
Seasonal physicals are not as extensive as one for an incoming player. In addition, they only did a CT of his heart because the doctor thought he heard a heart murmur. Those are pretty tough to catch. The sound that they heard was actually flow noise produced by his heart's strong pumping action. But the CT revealed the unpleasant surprise that he had a large aneurysm on the ascending aorta.
I had exactly the same thing happen to me, except for the NFL trade. Luckily for me, my aneurysm is quite small and is not yet considered operable. So they do a CT or MRI of my heart twice a year. I got my BP down to normal and it hasn't grown by even a millimeter in six years. But the risk that it will grow larger will always exist. I don't think they'll be trading me to the Saints either.
It is a great thing that the doctor heard the murmur. Jon's aneurysm was close to rupturing. His doctor said afterward that the next hard hit or tackle he took, even in practice, could have caused the rupture. He'd have bled ut into his chest before they got him on a stretcher.

GamerX 123 yes it is. It’s very heartbreaking that he lost his mother & dad in one day. The only difference is that he will never get to see his mother ever again unlike he can his father. I don’t see how one spouse can take the other spouse’s life especially when they have kids together. It’s also messed up how his dad only got 13 yrs when there is ppl in prison like my father who got life plus life & 25 yrs wout parole just for breaking in someone’s house & him & few other ppl tied the couple up stole their jewelry, 35,000.00 cash, & the couples brand new truck. I’m not saying what my dad was right but out of all the ppl who was involved & was the main ppl who done most of the work my dad was the only one who got the most charges. The couple even told the judge not to do that to my father bc all he done was tied the man’s arms behind his back & watched the couple to make sure they don’t get loose while the other ppl was taking the stuff out of the house. Once they were done & everybody was out of the house my dad untied them & gave them their cell phone back to them to call for help. They also told the judge he was forced to do what he done to them by the main guy which was a meth drug dealer. He didn’t get charged at all bc he gave the cops a few names of ppl that bought drugs from him. Anyway, his mom’s sister is an amazing woman to fight to get custody of him & his sister from CPS & raised them on her own. It’s a horrifying story that had a great ending bc Jon turned what was the worst thing that happened to him into an amazing magician & a NFL star. After he played for the Eagles for many yrs he went a played for the Saints. The only thing that sucks is bout a day or two he was on Ellen again & she talked bout how he found out that he had heart problems. He had to have an open heart surgery & it happened 7 weeks ago. He’s truly blessed to still be here on this earth w his family, friends, & his fans. Even though his mother is in Heaven she is still being a loving caring mother to her son & looking out for him.

Future. Key word. She is currently not that great of a talent. She couldn't sell 200 tickets at a state fair right now. She will have her day, and the puppies that can bark the alphabet, and the guy that is almost funny with tape on his face. But I laugh along with the rest of the planet thinking "This is the BEST talent in America?".

ive seen that first card trick before where the guy gets all the cards in order, but the crazy thing was he didnt even understand how it worked he just knew if he did this process this would happen
the really crazy part is that jon made it his own by TAKING A CARD OUT OF THE DECK thus changing the entire order or the deck or cards which would then ruin the card trick as i saw it done the first time years ago

Nick was so disappointed Jon didn't win. 😞 I didn't watch another season after this one. No offense to the other 2 acts but Jon became known everywhere after just his first trick. Every week he topped his previous act. Every week he came with it. This is why the voting orders should play a role. Not be the determining factor. Especially when all the votes are within 1% of each other.

@E!.Box ; For ALL of You people who claim they know the method of the trick here or elsewhere:
There is a Highly talented, regarded magician who performed on the Penn & Teller Fool Us show, who invite any magician to perform on their program and stage. If the performer can fool these experts, the magician gets a show on P&T's show in Las Vegas and a FU trophy.
A few have managed to get this FU and even fewer managed it twice. One of them appearing on the show quotes a famous magician like this: "When the masses of people think they figured out 10% of the trick, they will say they figured it out. When a magician knows all but 10% of the trick method, the magician admits not knowing" [which he continues saying to P&T and the audience he is depending upon (not disappointed either, as P&T admit)].
"Take that in Your Pipe and smoke it" or "Roll and Moll it over in Your mind". Then, after You have actually got the method clear, to every detail, still see how experts like P&T behave applauding the performer and performance also when they have figured it out.
Jon Dorenbos has clearly shown how polished a performer he actually is. Whether he would perform in front of P&T and they know how he does it, they will still applaud and appreciate his performance and he as a performer too. They will certainly appreciate his manner, attitude, showmanship, energy and exquisite, talented approach and performance.
