    KingSong S18 review after 2000 km. We tested electric unicycle KingSong S18 in different conditions: casual rides, alfalt and terrain surfeces, euc races and now could tell our full oppinion about this device. Also we will compare KingSong S18 with Inmotion V11, Begode Hero and KingSong S20. Suspesion electic unicycles become new and better type of old classical version of electric unicycles.
    EKOLKA is a team of enthusiasts, building strong community of EUC and other electric vehicle riders. We are offcial distributor of KingSong, Gotway, Veteran, Ninebot and Inmotion brands. EKOLKA has its own warranty and after warranty service. Also we could provide spare parts for any electric unicycle the same as replace your old battery for totally new.

    I just switch from a inmotion V8 (I rode it for 2 years) for a S18 and the experience is dramatic ! Dramatic for a few reason. First I find it to heavy even if it's a light wheel compare to bigger wheel like the Sherman or the Begod Master. I feel like a ballet dancer on the V8 and it's nicer for small trip (very small trip). Because it's big and heavy it's harder to carry it in supermarket like the V8.
    But the V8 lacksome punch and the S18 delivers it. Also its way more stable on bad surfacees even if I rode half of the time ofroad with my dog (great way to make your dog running). With the S18 I don't care anymore for the bumps in the road, roots or even stairs ar a joke now and I'm not affraid of bending my wheel or puncturing a tire with the S18.
    To be fair I won't go back to a non suspended wheel but I wich they would make smaller suspended wheel in the futur for many reasons.
    The first reasn is speed, I Europe many country limits the speed of EUC, electric scooter and other segway to 25 km/h witch is not a lot but I feel that 50km/h is to much on a small device like that. Mine is set to beep hard a 38 km/h and I feel it's enough (maybe I will find it to slow in a month but I doudb that).
    A lighter suspended wheel would keep the benefice of the S18 with the lightness of a v10 for exemple. Not a lot of people need more then 70 km of range anyway. Only if you want to travel with it and even then you can still travel far with that range.
    Anyway, to conclud I would say I love the S18 but it's way more physicaly demending then lighter wheels (I can imagine what it's like to ride the Begod Master and its 50kg !!!)
    Cool video tho.
    PEACE

    • @ekolkacz
      @ekolkacz  Před 2 lety

      “The best” shock absorber does not exist. Each track is special and you need to setup up your suspension due to it. But if we will compare original dnm and Rockshox the second one will be better for sure.

    • @ekolkacz
      @ekolkacz  Před 2 lety

      There is no sense try coil shock if your weigh is in range we said in video. Air works perfectly and could be adjusted. Coil usually has much smaller range to set up, but theoretically it could work with higher weight

    • @ocmiente
      @ocmiente Před 2 lety +1

      @@ekolkacz thanks for the reply. I did try a DNM damping 2 system 200x57 750# coil spring shock because it's only $55, and it's very stiff as you would expect. I like it better than the DNM air shock that came with the s18, and it's what I ride with today. Having experienced what a difference the shock can make, I'm just looking for more info about what shocks people like best with their s18 before spending hundreds of dollars on another shock. I like the lower maintenance of a coil spring setup and don't mind the weight. If I could just slap on a lighter coil, I'd do that, but the cheap DNM coil isn't the best diameter to allow for easy coil changes.

    • @ekolkacz
      @ekolkacz  Před 2 lety

      I was answering for that question already you could search below, but in short there is no ideal setting, for different terrain, riding style and weight you need to tweak your setting. From cheaper one Rockshox Monarch from more extreme there are Fox and Cane Creek.

I have a ks 16s, and I’d like to upgrade to the s18, but the dealer is pushing me to the v11, not only for better performance due to the battery, but also for reliability. What is your opinion? I think the high position on the inmotion will not be very confortable for me, and the sexy look of the ks…. is just sooo nice. (I’m not an expert rider, 65kg, will use the wheel for city commuting on bad asphalt conditions, maybe occasionally offroad, and for a range of 30km total trip). Thank you very much.

    • @ekolkacz
      @ekolkacz  Před 2 lety

      For your needs V11 is not bad choice either, it is good urban commuter for non aggressive riders. The only issue is reliability, V11 has problems with motor bearings, but if the local dealer provide warranty support then you are good. S18 is reliable EUC with best suspension in the market, but for calm riding it is not a must have thing

    • @thefoss721
      @thefoss721 Před 2 lety

      @@chigzypatel155 dang starting off with a wheel that beefy would be a lot to handle, because of the added weight it will take you longer to figure out balance and understanding , but it’s also lighter than a lot of high performance wheels like a sherman or commander so for the weight you can’t beat the specs literally.
      Learning on the S-18 was challenging but it eventually clicked, if you buy the S20 I don’t think you’ll ever feel like you need to upgrade for at least 5-7 years easily, so that’s a plus, but when you fall you will have to understand the weight will make the fall harder on the wheel… dang man that’s a hard question, you could do it though if you have good balance and have patience at first to learn and get good before you push the wheel , just don’t get cocky and set some speed limits till you truly feel comfortable on that which should take you at least a few months or 250+ miles
      Hope that helps but I’ve never been so excited for a wheel to be released, the suspension goes such a long way especially if you like riding in the mtns, off roading, bike trails, jumps, etc, and city riding will also be so smooth and buttery at the same time
      All in all I’d recommend the wheel, it will just take a few more months till it releases but if you pre order now you might get the first or second batch later the next month or so, and it’s only $100 and you can cancel later and get a refund but I’d pre order it ASAP if you do want it, it will be a massively popular wheel

      @@thefoss721 Thanks for the response bruva. Im set on getting the KS s18 and plan to upgrade to S20 in the future. The idea of just getting the S20 is good, but I know what im like, I love the rush/adrenaline and will probs hurt myself baddd too soon, lol Obvs Ill be padded up n helmet on, but at those speeds, shit still hurts. Ive got a feeling Im going to love this as I love the Onewheel purely for the fact of not using a remote, it just lacks that power/speed for me. Eskate does that though, just have to react to the board , rather than the board/wheel reacting to you, if that makes sense. What wheels do you ride.

    • @thefoss721
      @thefoss721 Před 2 lety

      @@chigzypatel155 if you compare it to a one wheel, in the same sense it’s much more intuitive and able , it’s not even fair to compare a one wheel to a S-18 or beyond, I think you’ll love that wheel, and you can beat it up a bit and it should be fine just pad up the sides of the wheel a lil and you won’t have to worry about it falling at first, mine has fallen Many times, put 1k miles on my S18 and it runs like new, king song has very good wheels with good customization, and it won’t go faster than your able to push it so having a cutout won’t happen unless your going uphill at a rapid torque speed, but it still can handle a lot, don’t worry about those talking about how it isn’t capable. It was a perfect wheel and I’m glad I got that one cause I love adrenaline as well, it’s the perfect mix of speed but not a jet pack
      Enjoy man! I love speed and this thing does fine unless you wanna push 30 on the road in traffic, then I think having a wheel that is faster serves a good purpose but 20 will feel fast at first so there’s room to move up even on that wheel
      .. and you’ll get that wheel in the next few weeks probably compared to having to wait, just slowly push the wheel and get a feel of how it reacts when you speed up fast, the wheel will rotate when leaning forward too much on it, that’s the buffer you’ll figure out in time, but it will also beep if you push it too hard so you’ll be fine!
      Enjoy your first ride mate and stay away from cars at first lol, I went on the road a month after I had it and almost had a heart attack, but you’ll know when your ready for that
