    I started out with V10F, than got an MSP. So now I'm looking for suspension. S18 might be a good place to start.

    I following along behind you, got an excellent deal on a V8s after watching a lot of EUC content. For me personally, I’m not super interested in off-roading beyond simple trails, so I’m not as sure about the necessity of suspension. Where the s18 loses me a bit is on range and top end speed. In my mind at least, when I upgrade I see it expanding out how far I ride, so I’d probably want some more range, and I live in a suburban area that has a war on pedestrians, so going far means no sidewalk on some busy and fast roads. I’d want some speed to get off those as quickly as possible. I was eyeing a v12 before the deal on the v8s made me jump in early. I’ll master it and see how I feel. Still, enjoyable video. You’ll probably want to revisit as you try more wheels, as it’s hard to affix numerical scores when you don’t have much to compare to.

      V8s is definitely a nice entry wheel. I agree about the range plus speed. Although the torque is lacking a bit, would need a bit more if riding along traffic.
      In saying that, it is so comfortable to ride. I really cannot complain.

    The S18 is one of the most iconic EUCs of all time. However, the newly released Begode Falcon will likely replace the S18 as the ideal portable suspension EUC.

    I got mine a few weeks ago as my second wheel after learning on a Ninebot S2. I love the S18 so far, just the right combination of performance, comfort and portability. And it obviously looks great. My other option was a Gotway RS but I think it would have been too heavy to carry up the stairs as I live in a second floor flat.

    OK great video, I'm a proud owner of the EX.N and Sherman MAX and am very happy with but... I need a smaller and more nimble EUC for short shopping trips, etc. I like the suspension idea, and you added many points to the list of why I would or will buy the S18 as my third EUC. Thanks for the video and ideas. For the speed, I use EX.N for the long rides Sherman, and S18 will be my urban form of transport. Stay safe, ride fast and have fun.

    I just got one as my first wheel. It's a bit intimidating at first due to it's size, but it has a great and crazy comfortable ride. Very happy with everything but the braking performance. However, being my first wheel, maybe the braking is similar and not amazing on all EUC's.

    Have about 300 miles on my S18 and so very happy with it. Made my own pads and swapped the shock for a super soft ride. The most important aspect of the S18 to me is the suspension because I am a bit older and have weak knees, ankles and feet. My wife has major knee issues and is able to ride the S18 fine. Speed and high torque is low on my list of priorities. I have considered the V11 as a 2nd wheel, but I'd probably go with S18 molicel just because long term maintenance will be easier between the two wheels.

    I love the look of the wheel but the speed and range let it down for me. I find in London traffic I need to be able to cruise at 50kph to stay with the traffic on many roads. I know the top speed of the wheel is 50kph but that's a "top speed" and it would depend on various factors (rider weight, incline, battery level etc). I' not a speed merchant, and prefer to stay at 40kph, but I ride on the road and feel safer if I can keep with the traffic at all times. I'd also find it limiting with the 1100Wh battery. I had a KS16S with an 840Wh battery and I found after a standard commute I'd need to recharge when I got home. With my Nikola Plus 1800Wh I can go for 3 or 4 days. It's certainly a stunning looking wheel and if you don't need to go fast or far then this would be an excellent wheel.

    One issue is that buying a S18 seems to be hit or miss in terms of issues, like the bolts on the suspension being so tight that the suspension won't move and that the bolt heads strip when trying to loosen them up. Another issue is the amount of maintenance, especially on S18's that arrive needing adjustments. One complaint is the suspension is too stiff to make much difference with small bumps, not much improvement in comfort for those small bumps, so it's mostly an advantage for off-road or going off curb's or down stairs. I'm wondering if there are vendors that will do a test setup and ride on an S18 before shipping it so that the buyer doesn't end up with issues on a new S18.

    • @Movelectrics
      @Movelectrics  Před 2 lety +1

      Good points! Oneride sent me the wheel, have it a few weeks before I send it back.
      But what you just mentioned, they actually test the wheel before it is sent out to the customer plus they send a video to you before it is shipped. They did this with my V8s.
      Was very happy with them.
      I agree, that all suppliers should do this. See the issue before the customer receives the product.

    • @Roskellan
      @Roskellan Před 2 lety +1

      I'm about 82Kg, I ride with 29psi tyre pressure, 220/40 in the shock 8 clicks rebound. This allows 13mm sag on the shock when I stand on the wheel. The shock pressures are "with the block"/ "without the block". I regularly wipe the shock and suspension guides in cycle dry-lube. I was going to replace the shock with a coil over, but quite frankly I like it the way it is.
