During this we descend 12 blocks.
So during this 55:39 (3,339 second) long video we go through 477 loops.
Meaning we descend for a total of 5,724 blocks!

I like every singe track, but Creator and Precipice don't fit. Don't get me wrong, they are absolute BANGERS (especially Creator), but they aren't ambiance. They would sound out of place if they just played randomly.
Either they added scripted events/cutscenes of some sort (highly unlikely) or these are music disk tracks (highly likely). There were three music disks teased, and I would bet my money that Creator, Precipice, and Creator (Music Box Version) are the three.

My eyes were closed right at this moment and when I tell you they bolted right open
As lovely as these are, it's always sad to think the only reason we ever got them is Mojang didn't want to pay for C418s Minecraft volume 3 he already made :(
thats actually not it at all, c418 wants to rightfully own the rights to the music even if it is used in minecraft, but microsoft themselves WANTS to own it, so they've never been able to come to an agreement, thats why we've gotten tracks from new artists who are fine with letting microsoft own the music
@@PowCards This is effectively the same, as once the music rights are sold Mojang won't have to pay C418 for the music again, which they'll likely profit multiple sold on because it would earn C418 much more over the course of Minecraft life span than selling it.
Thanks for your opinion though
does he plan to ever release volume 3?
@@EricDoubay probably not, probably would only happen if microsoft actually agrees to his terms because money is definitely not the problem, its just rights and ownership of the music
source: trust me bro
Soo... I'm 42 and I'm listening to this while working on my first Minecraft mod ever. Apparently Minecraft never gets old and you can't get too old for Minecraft either :)
I LOVE Creator, it sounds so whimsical! I'm imagining an all powerful creator building the world but with the toy-like sounds at the beginning it's like this may be an entire world to us, but it's just a toy box for the creator.
That's an aswome perspective on creator, tho in my opinion i see it as the unmatched pride of those who built the trial chambers
It makes me imagine something similar, like a all powerful civilisation rising and then suddenly falling
it makes me feel childlike whimsey
and we are the creator, minecraft world is just a toy for us
I feel like creator is supposed to represent the story of the ancient builders, from starting with nothing (music box pt 1) to building a civilization (when the music actually starts) to when the builders become a destructive empire and starting war with the piglins and telling the villagers that the piglins attack first but really the stole all of the natural resources from them (the electric guitar) to when they ran away to the end and tryed to rebuild (when it slows down) and eventually fading away, all becoming endermen)
I feel like the reason it’s called creator is because it’s the story of the creation and end of the ancient builder empire
47:51 electric guitar in minecraft is unheard of before, but it's awesome.
I'm pretty sure electric guitar in medieval type music is aslo unheard off
It’s not even the kind of thing Lena Raine usually does so I was so flabbergasted. She rocks… literally
@@sagirem Lena Raine is the best composer in videogames rn other than Toby Fox, she's incredible
@@Mjkliop607It’s more Renaissance sounding than medieval. Like I’m picturing an inventor working on a machine to help people across the world for years when I listen to it.
@-Teague- don't forget Christopher Larkin! He made Hollow Knight's (and silksong's unreleased) music. Lena raine also made great music for Celeste
Absolutely love how each artist has a song that references a motif from a previous song they've made! Especially with the 15 year anniversary coming up soon it feels like there's an underlying theme of reflection in this update, seeing that reflected (unintentional pun I swear) in a bit of the soundtrack is a great touch!
this is why they all sound the same
Yeah, I know Minecraft music's tunes very well (most people who've played the game a lot and heard the music would know it well I guess lol) but I definitely noticed a reference/references in each of these songs, and they aren't really hidden either.
Creator sounded unique, I'm so glad that they also made it a music box version. Especially the change at 47:51. I love it! Also I listened to the whole soundtrack while doing my Algebra 1 homework.
I was also doing my algebra homework while listening to this 😅

glad to see I'm not the only one who heard the similarities
Agreed but I'd say it gives me some Pr Layton vibes too in the first half.
It reminds me of Genshin Impact's Fontaine Region, personally.
Yeah, Sommerfågel kind of vibes :D
As someone who has played Minecraft since 2011, I find this update’s soundtrack to be the best since C418’s Alpha. I’ve been listening to it a lot lately. It is very inspiring and relaxing!
U are here
very true, I actively search out these songs which is something I don't do for the 1.18-20 tracks for the most part. Also helps make the music discs feel more rewarding to seek out.
I agree, this soundtrack just feels like a large improvement since the last updates.
Hey, I know you
e
18:06 i absolutely love how they referenced the track Comforting Memories from the caves and cliffs update in Komorebi. I love when musicians reference previous songs they've written in new pieces. It's something I've wanted to try doing myself for a while now.
loved that part too
Don't forget about the Infinite Amethyst reference in Endless :)
I'm just glad I'm not the only one. 😭
@@FlyingLineat what timestamp exactly?
Endless does it too
Creator and Precipice have completely changed my impression on the update.
Before this there was something missing from the trial ruins. They were cool, yes, but I didn't really feel the challenge and adventure that was clearly meant to come with them. But even just listening to what music is supposed to be associated with them completely changed my mind and opened my eyes. The tinkerer's abandoned dungeon springing to life as everything activates around you...
If these tracks were playing as actual background music and not just limited to discs, this would be even more incredible.
Since Precipice is 5 minutes long you can just plop it down in every room you enter
@@CatWithALime Unfortunately, assuming that it's a disc you get from the trial chambers themselves, you'd have to complete one first before getting the cool theme
@@luigraskullheart I mean, it's still rewarding to go into one you completed already, you get a LOT of xp from one and wind charges are always cool
I'll make a resource pack that adds creator, creator music box and precipice as background music, my personal recommendation is to enable the resource pack after you get the disks, so you still face the challenges before enjoying the reward
It already sounds beautiful even though I just listened 1 second of it
Im so excited hearing this while going to the trial chambers

I don't think it's gonna play in the trial chambers. Those, I'd think would have something more akin to battle music, if they had background music.

The ambience of Featherfall, the tinkering aspect of pokopoko, the Victorian/music box vibe of Creator, and the grand feel of Precipice along with the other songs are just 🤌💋chef's kiss! perfect! spot on!!!
FR
I wrote a more in depth review of each song on another channel's upload, but here is a more brief one:
Featherfall: Beautiful, maybe snow biome music? Somehow Aaron manages to make a "softer" piano sound with each new release.
Watcher: Does a lot from what is mostly a piano solo, a very different take on it than C418 but I love it.
Puzzlebox: PLEASE tell me this is new creative music, it fits in seamlessly with the other Volume Beta tracks.
komorebi: "Sunlight Filtering Through the Trees" in Japanese, and yep, that is absolutely what this song evokes.
pokopoko: Rain music? This has to be rain music. It is so perfect!
yakusoku: Another song that I think might be snow music, the bells make me imagine a vast snowy landscape.
Deeper: This sounds like the 1.16 Nether tracks (Plus the name could be a reference to "We Need To Go Deeper"), Warped Forests are the only Nether biome without a Lena Raine track and this especially fits the biome.
Eld Unknown: This is what happens when you combine Stickerbush Symphony with Celeste. I have no idea where it might play but I'm excited.
Endless: Definitely another take on Infinite Amythest, but with elements from 1.19's OST. I think I prefer this.
Creator: Besides being a hugely different from anything else in Minecraft, the instrumentation choices in this are some of the most creative I've ever seen.
Creator (Music Box): I wonder how this will actually be implemented - It is probably the oxidized copper music disc, but how do you oxidize an item?
Precipice: EDM IN MINECRAFT??? The fill at 52:21 is INSANE! I love this so much.
Also, why doesn't the copper trapdoor activate from the pressure plate?
Related, please Mojang fix the copper trapdoor crafting recipe so its the same as iron trapdoors, they are SUCH A SCAM.
Can you tell me the name of the other channel?
@@AldinRamic It was Multiverse Studios, they had it up as soon as the music was available (at the cost of the songs being in the right order)
The reason copper trapdoors and doors are so expensive because you can get absurd amounts of copper from the trial chambers and veins and on top of that copper doesn't have that many uses to begin with
Unfortunately you can only listen to these if you find a trail chamber, which 99.9% of players won't cuz it's rly hard to find :(

As a minecraft player since launch, i can say with certainty that "Creator" breathes so much life into minecraft that it has so sorely missed all these years
All the music tracks have been idle, subtle, and subdued, imbuing a sense of otherworldly tranquility, yet it simultaneously makes it feel as if the world would not live without the player.
The guaitar, an energetic yet calm presence, combined with the nimble and sharp tones or the flute give a sense of variety, and the later addition of the electric guitar only adds to the already delightful track with its brash, unnatural strums, it's not subtle, its not complimenting the song like all past songs have, the electric guitar is actively dominating the audio, and i think that is just so delightful

Aaron cherof actually killing it with his ost in my opinion his have been the closest to capturing that sense of wonder and curiosity that c418 tracks created for me as a kid, and the track puzzlebox is my favorite of these tracks. And his previous work bromeliad is probably my favorite minecraft track.
Seeing this update getting ready to end and release is fascinating, glad it's gone fairly smooth.
Do really hope the copper crafting recipes get changed to the cut copper instead of blocks tho

I see people saying "creator" as like some song when "creators made this world", and in my eyes, we're the creators. we create our own worlds, and this is like a toy for us. like creative mode :)
“Yeah, we’re not C418. We never will be.
But look at what we can DO.”

Precipre is amazing!
I don't know if anyone has noticed, but Endless has the same melody in parts as Infinite Amethyst, which I think is really cool.
