    Boeing build very good quality planes. Until the one on top becomes greedy and decided to take short cuts on the quality control

    This bird had just landed at MIA from a 16 h flight from DXB and was getting repositioned for the return flight 5h later. Still a young 777-31HER, first flew on 2011-07-27.

    Absolute eye-candy. Could not take my eyes off of the video. I may have to moonlight as an aviation tech. The 777 was the last great commercial aircraft Boeing ever made. And before that, the 747-800, 737-400, and 707. I'm all Airbus now.

    The screen interfaces still look modern for a plane that first flew over 30 years ago. Unless the ER has newer graphics but that's 20 years old now too

      The AIMS system of the B777 has had some upgrades during the last 30 years. Newer versions definitely have upgraded versions, so suspect the graphics have been improved since then.

    This is a really well done video Dennis. You certainly capture all the key points of the system. It certainly looks a lot easier to work on than the B747 body gear steering systems.

    I think that the DC8 and late model 707 had a similar set up on the rear bogies also to help stop tire scrubbing on turns also

    • @dennisvijverbergbrakesrele6098
      @dennisvijverbergbrakesrele6098  Před 4 měsíci +5

      Never worked with or on DC8 or B747, but never saw any steering on their landing gears.
      The steering makes it easier for the aircraft to make tighter turns, but you still see tire scrubbing but you see less wear of the sides of the running surface of the tire than for example the A350-1000 which doesn’t have steering on the landing bogey.

      Some of the early DC8 series aircraft had main landing gears where the back end would unlock and caster when the aircraft was making a tight turn. I remember on occasions, DC8 would be pushing back and one of the main landing gears aft end would unlock and wheels would go into caster. Tow crews would have to pull the aircraft forward and try to get the system to lock. I do not recall this system on the B707, but I did not work latter year aircraft.

    this is so awesome! the stress this gear has to withstand (not gentle landings lol -for full bore front nose gear hits occasionally, or cross wind loading? I have personally inspected gear made by Liebherr, Cessna X10 (made by Textron group) - all are amazing for the shear weight savings and ability to withstand the enormous loading that occurs!

    Could you do a walk around of the main gear similar to the recent NLG video?! I had an incident many years ago, where a B777-300ER lost a bunch of parts on a runway during a severe winter storm. We were next to take-off and we struck many of these parts, resulting in a high-speed RTO. I have always been curious to have a look around the main gear to try and piece together where all these parts/wire harnesses were located on the aircraft, and how they could have been ripped off during their takeoff. Thank you

    The rear like plus axle like a steering is what sterilized the flight upon landind in other words on final retardation to the ground ones it stargers then the front starionary tire on the same line immediately regulate its control why the flight is still on landing motion not to make the plane lost its stability... by klems 😢

    how "old" is the hydraulic-fluid ? ...and the changing intervall of the endlagendämpfung (kolbenstange / kreisring) at this stearing-zylinder ?

    • @dennisvijverbergbrakesrele6098
      @dennisvijverbergbrakesrele6098  Před 4 měsíci +1

      The hydraulic fluid is test by a set interval, overall hydraulic fluid isn’t changed so far it doesn’t get contaminated. We just keep the fluid levels up.
      The actuator will be changed on condition ( do not think this is a system that is replaced on time, like the landing gear itself will be ).
      The actuator attachment points have inspection items according the maintenance manual, do not know where in the maintenance program this is checked.

    Sir you can not stear the aircraft we have a by pass pin in place . Your not telling the full story to the
    Viewers --- WHY ??? 😂 by pass pin means the nose gear is locked you can not do anything with the
    Stick the only thing steering the aircraft is the tow truck and the tow
    Bar connected to the nose gear .

    • @dennisvijverbergbrakesrele6098

      @@RayhanAhmed-qr3vz indeed, but main gear steering follows nose gear steering angle not the input made in the cockpit. So when to tow truck changes the angle of the nose gear the main gear steering will follow.
