Warning! I forgot to mention in the video but DO NOT change the speed on the override or in the program during or after the machine has cut the part on these older controls. The machine will loose the thread lead if you alter the speed and it WILL scrap your part. BTDT. Only make changes to the spindle speed after you get the part off the machine.

Thanks for the awesome videos. I am trying to make internal threading toolpath for which the tool should retract to X21mm and then come out of the hole. But in actual, it first retracts to a smaller number i.e. X17.3mm and then go to X21 and then come out of the hole. X17.3 will cause my threading bar to smash in to workpiece. Do you have any idea what could be wrong and how it can be avoided? Would appreciate that. Cheers.

Great video. I run a Nexus 350 II. Threading isn't my most fun thing to do. We have added the speed override option which works great for modifying speed during the thread cycle. The only thing I never figured out is the touch off of the tool on the tool eye vs the offsets. They are never theoretically zero on the X axis like a correct turing tool at the finish. They are always way negative on the OD or way positive on the ID from zero when threading only. I use .86603 x pitch for my thread height. I can get good threads but just can't trust to go to size or close off the tool eye. Also do you have any videos of how to chase threads for repairing if loaded back in the machine. Ours has that capability but nothing in the book to truly describe how to do it. Thanks for your videos. Older machine but the concept is the same.

What controller do you have? I only have parameter information regarding the T-2 and T-3 controls.
For the threading parameter, U35 controls the acceleration distance. It is set to a low value from the factory and that causes problems with threading at high RPM speed. The range of the parameter is 0-255, but I have mine set to 100 and it works fine. Other option is to slow down the threading SFM value in the program.
