Imagine Ash going back in time, looking at all the pokémon he's seen throughout his journey and then just going "wHaO, wHO's ThAT pOKémON?" over and over again.

It'd be disappointing, but Ash serves as the audience gateway for children as well as their viewpoint. I guess we could have another young companion instead, though they're usually not written the best.
Remember when they actually cared about the continuity from indigo league all the way to sinnoh
He's actually been pretty on point with Pokemon memory. The only ones he really questions are Galar's Pokemon.....of which he's never seen before.
Maybe they'll finally use the GS ball to have Celebi send them back, they seem to be rapping up the Lilly finding her dad eventually so they could bring some other things full circle.

Honestly, I'd be down for a spinoff anime. Don't get me wrong, I love me some Ash shenanigans, but I think it's about time we get some kind of full length series not surrounding him. Y'know for the people who always wanted more from the Pokemon anime. Not saying we get rid of the main anime entirely, we'd just have 2 now. Double the Pokemon fun.

@@percyknight9816 Those were more of a compilation of epilogues to characters and side stories. Plus Ash's journey was still in the single digits. People showed a lot of intrest in Generations and Twighlight Wings so I don't think it would do bad.

I think Time travel will happen and Ash and Go will ended up in Hisui because of it. My only question however is if Dawn will join them and ultimately meet her ancester personally or not, because that would be great.

If I’m being honest, I would rather have them not touch legends & rather have a side series like twilight wings or generations.
I love the main anime don’t get me wrong, it’s just that legends seems to be trying to make itself separate from other previous titles & they are apparently going down the more ambitious route with these titles (especially with the more ‘serious’ approach) so having a side series that’s like a few episodes like generations would really do it well
On that note we’re getting a special sometime this winter relating to dialga and palkia so who knows
I would love for Hisui to happen in the anime. I think an arc would be nice, but I don’t know how that would impact the rest of the anime. A movie would be also good, but I do want Gou to be included in the movie. I’ve actually thought about this a lot, and I hope they do something with Legends Arceus in the anime.
