What you do is heartfelt, genuine and, just amazing! If you only really, really knew the ripple effect of your little chats with us total strangers but who are in roughly the same boat as yourself you would sit down and cry tears of joy and happiness just like we do! It’s a total privilege to have someone like you in our hearing loss world. A humble thank you from a proud Widex Evoke 440 owner x
Thank you for a great channel April. I only started wearing hearing aids around four weeks ago since being diagnosed with low-frequency hearing loss. Just starting out on the journey of discovery. So many things resonate with what you’re sharing... I’m using Oticon Engage to begin and will see how I get on. So far, so good but early days....
I’m just starting my journey with hearing aids. I’m so new I don’t have them yet. I know I failed the hearing test to enter kindergarten several times but then my parents put me in a private school instead so nothing was followed up on. Fast forward to age 46 and after a conversation with my therapist she suggested I get checked because of the difficulty and frustrations i have in group settings. Initial screening showed problems with high frequencies. The big booth testing showed more detail and confirmed the screening results. My left ear is almost moderate hearing loss and the right ear is mild but that is the ear I have near constant tinnitus. Next step is the person who can write the prescription and help me make the decision on what type and brand.
You're very inspiring, April. Thank you for these videos. I wear Phonak Audeo, which I purchased in 2015, so probably time for an upgrade. I also have a pair of Starkey Picasso CIC, which I purchased in 2018. However, I very rarely wear the Starkey's as they have a very short battery life and I don't think they were properly adjusted to my hearing loss. I took them back a few times, but the salesperson couldn't seem to adjust them properly.
Am just starting out on my hearing aid journey. My children tell me that I am as deaf as a post, and I think they might be right! I had an episode of labyrinthitis which lasted 3 months. It was horrendous, and left me with tinnitus and hearing loss. I didn’t realise how much I had been relying on lip reading until it was the norm for people to be wearing masks. Time to grasp the nettle.
Widex since age of 4 here. It is said ppl who grew up with widex are the hardest patients to fit with other hearing aids. It is something with it having more low/mid frequencies than other makers.
Hi April, Thanks for sharing your story. I was recommended by my audiologist to try Oticon Real 1’s for my high frequency hearing loss. My question to you is why you chose Starkey for your aids, were they recommended to you by your audiologist as well? Gerard
My first hearing aid was a Phonak (recommended by my audiologist at the time) and then when I needed a second hearing aid my new audiologist suggested Starkey
Gotcha. After doing research, I went into my audiologist with the idea that Phonak would be good for me after my own research but she suggested that the AI in Oticon is better. I was just curious how much of it is brand loyalty and what you become used to using or wearing…
Hello I hope everything is good with you. I looked into your CZcams channel and discovered that it has certain issues. To improve views, subscribers, and even revenue, you could customize your channel. Your channel will rank quickly and gain popularity if it is slightly optimized and the videos are search engine optimized. You have a very low (0/100) channel SEO score. Would you like to make changes? I'm awaiting your answer. I hope you have a pleasant day. Regards and gratitude Yousub Ali

I have Widex and they are the best for musicians
I love that you have added your own closed captioning! I like it better than the CZcams captions. Thanks!
I wear Jabra Enhanced 300. I really like them and their telemedicine availability.
Thanks for sharing, April! I love your channel and your products! I wear Oticon Ruby hearing aids 😊👍 They are pretty great!
Just lost 50% of the hearing in my right ear is somewhat devastating because it was acute trying to figure out a way to deal with us😢
I wear starkey hearing aids to power plus . I love them too but I need adjustments soon
