Today I will be breaking down the KALKI - 2898 AD Movie Glimpse Good and bad CGI/VFX.
And will recreate the 5 VFX SHOTS from the movie Teaser

Kalki 2898-A.D is an upcoming Indian epic science fiction film written and directed by Nag Ashwin. It is produced by C. Aswani Dutt under Vyjayanthi Movies. The film stars an ensemble cast including Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, Deepika Padukone, Disha Patani and Pasupathy.
The sole purpose of this video is to educate you on how Visual effects Actually works.
Overall I loved this movie trailer and looking forward to watch the full movie in cinema.

Bro I think it's earth 2898 ad therefore the environment and many other things could have changed therefore different air pressure or lightning....
Last shot is practical + vfx, the slide is too good thus giving such good vibe. The good thing about this movie is they are using sets and VFX. Prabhas anna trusting new directors and taking risks and nag anna wont disappoint us for sure.

Glimpse And VFX Top-notch 💥💥 And Director Nag Ashwin Nailed It 🙌🔥
That foot scenes is definitely practical, just that booster thing is added later.
The last Scene is not 100% CG because you can see a soft edge where the buildings(broken) and the base plane meet which shows that it was done practical on green/blue screen and later blended with the background. But the thruster kind of thing(on his leg) and its reaction to soil is CG. Also the reaction of soil with his legs are clearly practical!

as the last shot was combination of cg and real movement of character because the soil of footage looks kinda realistic and if it could be cg then some deflect or imperfection of physics can be seen as we know how they are good in showing there legs

So, let me try to break the leg shot down. Though I'm not very experienced in VFX and CGI, I'll just try. I might me wrong, and if I am, then I apologise for it!! I just want to try once!!
So, what I think is, that shot is a combination of practicality and CGI. The sand is made using some particle system. And the boots are enhanced with CGI. Whoever that person is, he did the sliding using the rigs in the set. And after that, a close enough structure of the boots were made in some sort of 3D creation tool, and by using Rotoscopy, the boots were traced and the 3D structure was animated, and the sand particles were made to interact with it. I, personally, think this is how this shot has been shot.
But whatever, that shot is BEAUTIFUL!
If you wear a motion capture suit and above that wear the actual suit. When you do that practically you get the perfect motion in CG too.

Haa bro...lekin 600 crores budget mei Hollywood mvs waali vibe de rahe hui....dune, star wars, mad max wali vibes hi....lekhin vo weapons ko thoda cardboard jaisa feeling lag raha thai....lekhin koyi bat nahi....sci-fi & hindu puranas ko jod kar mv karna bahut mushikil hi aur jyada risk bhi hi aur audience ko convince krna bhi mushkil hi....lekhil nag ashwin ne sahu tarah se in sab chesonko sahi tarahh se handle kr rahe hi......ee mv indian box office ko rule karthe hi

Bhaiya sorry If my advice seems improper but in scene 2,3 etc. there was no problem with lighting let's take the example of scene 2 the main character and the characters standing behind him was so focused because the huge amount of light is going the upward side and the other characters were no so focused because of the light coming from behind and from a certain distance and the golden lions are having a sharp shadow and well-focused because if the reflective nature of the metal. So, I think they have worked great and there was no problem. Sorry If my advice looks wrong.

Regarding last shot. It's a practical and vfx. Prabhas must have put on wires to make the shot easy and reflex.

the flim VFx done by the company that make brahmastra, fighter & salaar. i think the the shoot was done in green screen with actual sand below his feet.but if carefully notice the sand suddenly drop look little odd due to cg sand. i think bodytrack is extensively use to some shots.

The sliding scene was not cgi 100% because the sand particles are real and that light in the shoes was cgi so it is 50% real and 50% cgi

I put a green screen footage in 3d environment. But like this 12:45 effect we also don't get accurate shadow. It's cast 2d plan's shadow. So my question is.. how to get that accurate shadow without hiding with anything and also not moving parallel to light⁉️ Plz help....!!!

last scene was cg plus real shoot from my view the sand is a made by cg because the texture of sand and land are differ when he drag his foot in the ground sand looks too smooth without any details and you will notice when you compare the ground with his foot's sand
