Considering Asuka standing still where he is, in that case on the ground, all his special force him to stay where he is. Both chant, reload spell and reload mana. HMC grants Sol immunity on projectile so it's a win move for him against Asuka casting spell in neutral.

Definitely a good recommendation. Also think it's a bit curious how the book he's holding is supposedly the 'Tome of Origin'? I'm not sure if it's any good; I can't find a listing for it on Goodreads. If I were him, I'd substitute it for a copy of Freakonomics. That book doubled my mana bar.

One of the squishiest characters (new too) in the game vs big damage gorilla God (arguably the best Sol, if not at least top 5). I think we should let Asuka players cook in the meth lab a bit more before we see him shine (or not). I'd say at least a month before we see people do crazy stuff and maximizing their spell usage/replacement.
Asuka may have all the projectiles, but seems to struggle to open the opponent up.
He wasn't using his mixup defk
i don't think he struggles with that, people just need to learn more rn. he's got an overhead you can combo off of, half screen sweep, overhead and low spells, great setup potential with the rod spells, teleport, and decent zoning even disregarding spells with a really long 5H and sweep to cover grounded approaches, good anti-airs with 6P (at least i think his 6P is at least decent) and 2H, and decent air-to-air game with j.S
If they’re struggling to open the opponent up they need to use his mix deck, it’s actually incredibly strong and virtually unreactable. From S and K you have access to his 6HS and 6K, which are an overhead and low respectively. From there you can either go into another low or overhead spell and they’re both safe on block. The options are pretty endless and your opponent just has to guess correctly
Give the character some time. It took HC a month or so before people started calling him busted.
Asuka's mix is completely busted. His 6H and 6K are already pretty scary, while the rock and low spells are atrocious to react to.........ah also in day 2 people already found instant overhead Yozansen style for him
I love how the 1st set started from Mocchi nearly TOD'ing Asuka and ended in point blank HMC. Sol gaming

it is that fast, although I do believe some of the matches went by extremely quick because of asuka's low health without mana

Against Asuka on ground is something everyone should do. All Asuka's special (Chant, reload both mana and spells) force Asuka to stay where he is. So, in neutral, if he uses special you can easily counter him with HMC and steal a lot of mana from him considering the damage he take. Consider the damage if he is already out of mana and he is recharging mana mid screen. He is dead.
Vortex and mob cemetery can actually work on him sometimes to catch him when he’s putting in bookmarks or refilling mana
@@xyfuzionx That's exactly what I'm saying. Against sol is safer reload spell while at least full screen in neutral or while +on block or after successfull 6K or 2D or Throw, elsewhere Sol with meter is dangerous

Is it me, or is using HP to Mana worse than just using Tension to Mana?
He already has the lowest health in the game, and Hoochoo kept dying with meter to spare....
Using HP for mana grants way more mana than meter. Meter is a very usefull tool to use between his cube sphere (is hella plus on block allowing asuka to reload both mana and spells) and even for Roman Cancels in general. Sacrificing HP is more usefull because you can store meter safely. If you take damage you are pretty dead anyway. But if mana is higher, you have mana armor for longer and damage is reduced.
If you use "meter for mana" you may not have RCs to use, recover less mana and less mana means loosing mana armor faster against opponent and taking anyway A LOT of health. What is better at the end of the day? Lower health but Super-RCs available or a bit more health, no mana and no RCs or Supers?
Asuka is a "All in" character. High risk high reward in a heavy way. The more you sacrifice the more you can do. Play him too safely and sooner or later you will lose mana or health.
HP to mana refills way quicker and with mana shield up he has the highest effective hp in the game. It's situational and there might be some times when you want to use tension instead of hp into mana is def the way to go.
