They state their noses are the way they are to prevent them from frostbite. But then how do you explain the Tonkin snub nose monkeys who live in a tropical rainforest environment??? They don't live in cold weather and they have those noses.
They live in mountains, which are colder than the rainforests at the base. They also might have evolved a while after the ancestor to all modern snub-nosed monkeys evolved their trademark noses and kept that trait.
