  • In this video I replace the failed cluster bulbs in my 1989 K1500 with LEDs. I also finally install the new odometer gear.
    The exact LEDs I used are linked below.

    FYI polarity with most LEDs is very important. Halogen bulbs don't care what way they're installed but most LEDs do!

      @MaqsVids  Před 2 lety

      I ordered white ones.

    • @thatrebelboy48
      @thatrebelboy48 Před 2 lety +3

      White ones will make the cluster look like in the video, green LEDs will make the cluster a little brighter, richer green than factory, and blue LEDs will make the cluster blue. The individual gauges has green plastic on the back of them so if you want white, red, orange, or any other color than green and blue, you’ll have to remove the clear lens, gauge bezel, and each individual gauge. The speedometer gauge has four screws holding it in and the other gauges each have two screws holding them in. Remove the screws, pull the speedo first, then pull the other gauges out. They just pull out after removing the screws, but be careful remove on the side gauges…either the top or bottom gauge overlaps the other. Can’t remember which one overlaps though. Once you pull the individual gauges out, you’ll see a green diffuser lens made to the back of them. Remove that green plastic with a dremel but be careful to not over do it. Just remove enough green plastic so that the white of the gauges can be seen. One way to check this is by shining a light behind the gauge and checking to see if the light emits white or green from the front.
