  • Pomegranate is one of the easiest to grow from seeds. In fact , it can even grown in pot. Make sure to remove the pulp from the seeds and dry in paper towel. It may take 2-3 years to bear fruits, bu once it reach 6 months old, is basically grow by itself. Just do the regular fertilizing and pruning occasionally. Give it a try , happy gardening

Btw, pomegranates are deciduous in subtropical and temperate climates. Make sure you protect them in temperate climates, they don't like to be in freezing temparatures for too long. Make sure that they stay in a cool place in winter.
Edit 17/03/2023: My pomegranates succesfully survived a southern Germany winter! They are currently starting to pump energy into their buds. The buds are turning reddish green and are getting bigger.
Edit 15/12/2023: We had -14°C two weeks ago and the shoots and buds look fine right now, I am keeping them in an unheated greenhouse. I hope we won't get frosts below -20°C this winter. It's very rare but not impossible to have temperatures like these where I live. We had a similar frost like this last winter, so I believe they will be completely fine.

In general, soil mixture during germination is not very critical, the temperature is. All you need is to maintain the medium moisture and top up water when the top starts to dry up. It can be completely dark , but once germinated , you need to expose it to light or artificial light
