- Let's talk about what the process of selling the items I consigned with The RealReal was like, and how much money I made đ¤! Today's video will explain in-detail how quickly my items got up on the website, how quickly the items sold, which items did and did not sell, how much commission I made, how TRR made payments to me, and how much money I made overall by selling with TRR. (This video is a follow-up to the first video I did that covered the first part of selling of my designer clothes, shoes, and handbags with The RealReal. That video showed what types of preloved items and brands I consigned, how to get started selling your items with the RealReal, commission percentages that you will earn on various types of items, and more).
Consigning/selling your preloved and vintage items is a great way to declutter your closet, help you get organized, and make some extra cash. And since Iâve been working on decluttering my closet and curating my wardrobe for a while now, I figured why not give it a try? Overall I was really happy with the ease of selling with TRR, and would recommend selling with them in the future.

i am selling with them. they sell your stuff for a good price but take half of the sale. so if something sells for $180 you only get $99 its not worth it. they rob you. i feel so much regret and I'm pissed that they did this. i would never ever recommend selling with them ever
đ Iâm so sorry to hear that dear. Have you ever tried selling on Poshmark? Itâs only a 20% fee! (But you do it yourself). I really like using Poshmark so def recommend!
Iâm so happy to see whatâs selling for other people on TRR. I sent in my first box last month and already had over $1000 in sales and my payout will be over $400 in just the first week of selling. Thereâs still stuff processing though. Canât wait to do a video.

Iâm new to TRR & only making 30% of my designer items. It is very tough to swallow on the turnaround for high end quality designer stuff that Iâm getting back for. Some I even want to cry truthfully. Iâve sold on eBay & the price point would have been higher but it does require some work. I donât think thereâs any win win hereâŚ

Mercari authenticates and only takes 10% of your commission!
I hate selling to TRR I will never sell to them again. They sold a Dolce and Gabbana skirt I sent them for $20 and gave me a $5 commission. I don't know how people make actual money with them. I would rather sell the things myself and make way more money.

Hello, I was the victim of their fraudulent business Edâs practices and took them to NY State Supreme Court. They stole over 200k of luxury clothing from me: sold without a consignment agreement, lost or returned damaged/worn by The Real Real employees during the months they had them at their warehouse, for price quotes only, not resale. We are now considering a class action lawsuit and are seeking other victims to join us. You would not have to do anything but be a party to the lawsuit. The lawyers would do everything for us. I hope you will consider this. THEY NEED TO BE STOPPED & HELD ACCOUNTABLE. I am not active on social media and have no clout but most people are & we should start a movement.

I'm so glad you found it helpful đ! I sold one Kate Spade bag for $51 with TRR, and have sold some Kate Spade jewelry and other bags on Poshmark before (all usually less than $100). I also actually just shipped off a Kate Spade watch to TRR, so will try my best to remember to keep you posted on how much that that sells for!
I should have met with a manager but at 30% under $99 I believe I can sell it better other than high end designer stuff that TRR could sell as they cater to these kind of stuff.
Yess totally agree! If I can sell it myself, then I go the Poshmark route instead so I can get the better commission percentage! đ¤đ But if itâs something harder to sell, then a resale site is prob the better route to go!

Always so good to hear from you, Krista! All of the Henri Bendel bags sold, which I was really happy about! đ And all of them fell somewhere in the $50-$100 price range. The only things that haven't sold yet were a blue Alice & Olivia draped top & some red Marc Jacobs shorts.

Itâs from Wayfair from about 35 ago! I canât remember the brand name, but it was about $1k (pricey for wayfair đ đ !)
I have a few brands that are not in their list, but do come out on search. For example Ermenegildo Zegna. Do you just toss it in the same box with accepted brands? Or how do you pursue with this?thanks.
Hey there! So the reason you see other brands show up in the site/app search is because those are brands they used to accept (so they may still have inventory) but are no longer accepting new pieces. You could always try including them in the box and see if they take them, but itâs more likely that theyâll just send them back to you. Hope this is helpful!!
Will they accept something if it has a small stain?
Unfortunately I donât think they really take things with stains đ But you could always try sending it in and see if they accept it or ship it back to you?

Hey there! I donât actually use an app-I have an iPhone and I do a screen recording (which ends up creating a video file), and then I add that video as an overlay on top of the main video đ¤ itâs really easy to do a screen recording, so just Google âhow to record screen on iPhoneâ and some good articles with instructions will pop up đ!
