Ofc I choose freedom.. I used to be a upsc aspirant from the day I even remember me as a little kid😂 it was all about ias. I worked way harder than anyone in school for it I read everything I got only to realize I won't ever be happy at such a place. I kind of quit and did neet and cracked it this year quite okayishly. I am probably getting a govt mbbs seat. Now something in me again telling me to resume reading, you are made to be a beurocrat. And if I am, surely not an ias. IFS seems cool IPS as well (ny father is my inspiration there) I don't know why its funny when you give your whole kind of life to an obsession and youend up realizing it's not really something that I want 😂 preference ias pushed to the back now. 😊 ifs>ips>irs>ias

IFS officers have social lives like anyone else. One is just more cautious about what we say and how we behave since we represent the country but besides that it’s as vibrant as you want it to be

During my 6.5 years stay in US , i had never been to indian embassy , but some of my friends went there when their passport expired. There is a great deal of service provided to the indian expatriates by the consulate and i always thought these are administered by some IFS officer at the top.while she is explaining the workload more as that of an analyst , not sure if she is describing the duties in general terms or in personal terms.

IFS officer need to learn other languages if posted in foreign country.So they do not face any problem of learning another different language.

There aren’t any major restrictions except that you have to be careful about what you say in front of people, especially in front of people from countries which are considered to be less friendly to India

Yes you can it doesn't matter that from which field you belong to even a doctor can try to clear upsc.your 10,12, graduation marks doesn't matter in upsc.

CFL training takes most 2 / 2.5 years depending on the language you choose to learn.
No, 1/3rd of Ur life as an officer will be here at MEA and the remaining in abroad
At the earliest stage, when you complete your training you are sent to the country whose language you learn the first... afterwards, idk.
