STUCK? The 2 things that cause 80% of swing issues

- I've got swing issues, you've got swing issues. Jay-Z wasn't rapping about 99 golf swing problems but he might as well have been. After years (sadly) of problems and fixes and more problems and more swearing I mean fixes, I finally figured out that the root cause of most problems is MUCH EARLIER in the swing, specifically in the setup and the backswing.
In this video I share four key parts of the setup and three key parts of the backswing that I have found to be the place to fix most swing issues (up to 80% according to some experts*).

Personally learning these two things changed my (golf, and therefore whole) life and I'm looking forward to hearing how it works for you! Please leave me a comment with what you thought and whether it worked!

THIS BOOK IS AMAZING. Teaches you all the stuff you would have to spend years figuring out on the course, has tons of pictures and clear explanations, and stands the test of time (I've had my copy over 20 years).

WHO AM I:
I'm Manu, a full-time desk-jobber and part-time golfer living in the San Francisco Bay Area. After 23 YEARS of hacking at the ball, I finally got my act together and dropped my handicap from ~15 to ~1 in two years. I make videos to share what I've learned and help you make the journey WAY faster (and with less frustration). Hope this is helpful!

Hey Manu:
Great to meet you and golf with you at Moffet today.
I enjoyed your video. I’m all
subscribed.
All the best,
John Blenio
Great playing with you too John! See you again soon!
I always have a couple of things but trying to simplify so I can just be athletic and just swing
100%, athletic was a key swing thought for me! Unfortunately for me, my mind thinks "athletic" means "kill the ball", so I needed some checkpoints to harness all that athleticism 😅
Great video mate! 🙌🏼👏🏼
Thanks Tom! Glad you liked it, and thanks for telling me (seriously - it's great to know there are real people on the other side)!
Hey. Thanks for the vids. Nice to hear a real student of the game. I am a North Bayer and enjoy your approach. Alignment stick? Maybe not...
Haha I understand totally about the alignment stick 😅
And thanks - glad you like the videos! Do you play mostly in the North Bay or do you get all around the area?
Enjoying all your videos. Well researched and presented. Wondering if you could do one on all the factors to take into account for finding the right club / distance. I have a tough time picking the right club, especially in bad conditions. Rain, cold, wind (think you did won’t already), altitude, elevation, etc. Thanks
Thanks Nic - glad you like them!
Great call on deciding which club to hit - I can definitely do that one. Any other details you can provide on what you're looking for? Is it only with tough weather conditions or even on regular shots where you're wondering between say a soft 7i or a hard 8i?
@@upbeatgolfer basically I live in the PNW and we can play almost year round but we get varying conditions. Lots of rain, wind, cold. Then summer is warm, dry, fast. So wondering if there are more accurate ways to determine distance loss in rain, cold, etc
Got it. Thanks for the extra info - I'll put it on the list!
Just remember as far as your head movement for at least up and down. Think of your chest. If your chest rises, your head will rise
That's a REALLY great point! I hadn't thought of it like that, thanks for mentioning it. (Seriously, this was really helpful for me personally, much appreciated!)
@@upbeatgolfer I believe I heard that tip from Martin Hall if I remember correctly
