I cannot say for sure (because I don't know for sure) but man it sure sounds like those are NOT junkyard motors in those junkyard cars!!!! And I can only guess that the cockpits have been reenforced for driver safety as I see many direct hits on the driver's doors and seams to cause very little damage

The racing begins with heats (15 laps) and the top few of those heats qualify for the final (usually around 20) and so on. Some driver just prefer a crash to racing.

Yeah you're pretty much right, most are more toward race engine builds now and the drivers area is protected by door bars, H frames and floor plates.

chem trailer haha rulebook says no but of course. Rulebook allows engine guards steel engine mounts etc water tank level with engine etc.
