    Banger racing is a form of full contact motorsport where there is often awards for both the race winner and best crasher, as well as sometimes other awards including the best wrecked (driver with the most destroyed car) and special awards for unique or well presented cars. While similar in concept to demolition derby's in the USA, banger racing takes place on an oval course where the speeds are typically much higher and therefore the hits are much harder. While there are awards and sometimes small cash prizes on offer, most drivers choose to race for the thrill or to entertain the crowd. Banger Racing is popular in England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland, Ireland, Holland and Belgium.

    When the red flag is waved immediately after a hit, what does that mean?

    • @PFRacingMedia
      @PFRacingMedia  Před 4 lety

      daveywaite25 Usually means the driver has given the thumbs down to signal he needs medical attention or feels unsafe in the wreck

      @@PFRacingMedia OK, thanks. Are there ever any serious injuries. Looks quite brutal.

    • @PFRacingMedia
      @PFRacingMedia  Před 4 lety

      daveywaite25 Yes occasionally but it’s pretty rare, mostly just minor injuries

    This is confusing . you see plenty of UK cars but you also see a lot of US cars( Caprice, etc) are these common there?

    • @PFRacingMedia
      @PFRacingMedia  Před 4 lety

      You don't really see them on the roads much but quite a lot have been imported over the years by collectors, restorers etc

    • @starletbruh114
      @starletbruh114 Před 4 lety

      they are pretty good banger racers so chances are, it will end up racing once it has been taken off the road.

      A few funeral directors bought American hearses and limousines over the years and with the number of American airbases in the UK a lot of serviceman brought their car over then left it here. You could buy virtually any American car new in the UK up until the late 1970s and some such as Chrysler and Buick were even built in the UK.
      That Checker cab is a rarity though.

      CycolacFan Thanks for the insight, thats pretty interesting! I had no idea they were ever built here

    • @CycolacFan
      @CycolacFan Před 4 lety

      Canada used to build right hand drive 'American' cars for export, so did South Africa and Australia, although their's tended to only be sold in Oz.

    STOP RACING MK3 SUPRAS , or at least take the 1jz’s out and sell them

    • @PFRacingMedia
      @PFRacingMedia  Před 4 lety

      The engines are swapped and anything of value from the car is sold on to collectors or restorers

    • @acreativename7999
      @acreativename7999 Před 2 lety

      If they're being used for banger racing, they're beyond reasonable restoration and mostly useless.
      I doubt most people will pass up the money to be made with selling the 1J so these probably have corsa engines or something equally as expendable and cheap
