    For your next upgrade, you should try to do a shunt bypass mod. It made a big difference with acceleration, on my mx500. And if you can get a controller from a mx500 or mx650. Those controllers can take 50v. One problem I did have, after the shunt bypass mod, was that one of the 30 amp fuses blew. So I replaced it with a 40 amp. I think your mx350 would go 25 maybe 30, with another battery.

    Haven't used drill batteries yet. But I did wire in an extra 12v battery, cut just one motor lead. Have it on a switch, one way normal. The other setting the motor sees 12v with no throttle, throttle gives you the normal 24v.

      I'm trying to do the same thing. I got an identical 12 volt 7 amp battery out of a jumper box. Just added the third battery in series and then I got some quick connect stuff so I can charge the original two batteries with the original charger and use my AC/DC quick charger for the third battery. So after every charge I have to connect those wires back up into series. However after doing all that crap I'm just using stock 350 controller. I don't feel like I'm getting any more speed out of three batteries. It might even be running slower. Thought it might be a charging issue. I am definitely no electrical engineer. Are there any more details you can share with me about getting a stock mx350 to run on 36 volts with a third 12 volt battery. Or do I need to buy some upgraded electronics? Everything I try to do I try to do is cheaply or free as possible so you know... Lol

But i hooked it all up (without a speed controller) and used a switch instead of a normal throttle. Now the bike only last like 10 mins on full charge. Do i need to get a 36v speed controller to get more power longevity out of these batteries?

    Hey was wondering if you could help me out with a couple things on this build. I just finished the same build. Only difference is I’m running two 20v 5ah batteries. The led volt meter always shows 100% and never moves. The volts works, starts off at 40.9v but then only will go down to roughly 32v and the bike is almost dead. The tester right on the batteries shows they still have power. Not sure why I’m not getting full battery use. And not sure why the percentage is not working on volt meter.

    • @JordyBuilds
      @JordyBuilds  Před rokem

      The bolt meter comes with a manual you have to set it up for what batteries you are using. As far as the power just make sure both batteries are fully charged. If it wants to stop and go still it’s possible the motor is going out

    • @DescartesRenegade
      @DescartesRenegade Před 9 měsíci

      The discharge curve from a lith-ion battery is very different than the lead-acid ones. The meters have to be compatible with battery type. You may be getting inaccurate readings. Also, lith-ion drops off very quickly in voltage. It could be reading 40v one minute and quickly dip to 30V, and by this time, the battery needs charging.

    • @JordyBuilds
      @JordyBuilds  Před 9 měsíci

      Your 5ah batteries are not dropping 10v in a minute. 30v is also below the voltage cut off when you’d need to pull batteries. Make sure to not spread misinformation.

    • @DescartesRenegade
      @DescartesRenegade Před 9 měsíci

    the stock battery is 24v 7 amp hours
    the new battery setup would be 36v (two 18v in series) and 5 amp hour
    you should see a small decrease in range from stock, but this is completely determined by the amp hour of the batteries you plug in. Just make sure they are the same, or the smaller battery will do more work and wear itself out
