Just finished NM VR for the first time yesterday (63rd day I think?), I also used Baron, but also Valeryia. Couldn't use Valeryia that way as she was 4/5 skillup on her ult only (funnily enough with the 2 leg crystals I snagged today, I finally got her ult maxed). So she doesn't have enough time to get the ult up (unless you use a decoy unit like Atrox, right after you spawn her).
