  • WashU has offered first-year applicants the opportunity to interview for decades, but that's over now and in the process WashU has lost lost something special and become a colder campus.
Important Correction: I stated in the video that Walt Disney World Floral and Gifts shut down in 2003; however, I meant to say that it shut down in 2023.

They have changed to "no-loan" aid. I think they will have more applicants than ever. Alum interviews don't have much weight to admissions.

My kid found their interviews very stressful. The interviewer from Princeton seemed to be just checking boxes and rushed them off the call, seeming to be a bit annoyed that they had questions. They were convinced they weren’t getting in and were upset for days. I get your point, though.

I have 3 thoughts on this 1. Equity is a great thing... equity and warmth can easily exist in the same space. 2 I. not sure how. much is actually given to interviews in admissions. When my current college junior daughter was applying to colleges she had a great amazing, warn interview with Yale which concluded with the interviewer telling her that he would enthusiastically recommend her for admissions. She was then rejected by Yale -- while receiving likely letters from other Ivy's she didn't interview with. I also have a friend who interviews for Stanford who told me that in his years of condictiing interviws he can recall any candiates that he'e recomemnted being admitted . 3. One of my daighers closests friends currently attendids Wash U and loves it there FWIW.

WashU “ will reap the whirlwind.” Do you not think that is overly dramatic? It is not that serious Mr. Meister. Let us see how this plays out. You might be totally correct. Working in corporate America, you will have a lot of decisions made, you will not agree with and hyperbolic language is not helpful 😊. I can’t wait to see what drama you stir up on your next video.

Some interviewers started thinking that their opinions mattered more than the admissions officer's.

College interview isn't a big deal for Admission. My kid got in rank #9 without interview, while he didn't get in rank #18 one ivy with very good interview.
