Whitewater Kayaking the Main Salmon River, Frank Church - River of No Return Wilderness, Idaho 7-24

Fun 6 day 5 night raft-supported whitewater paddling trip (I paddled a kayak), with Wet Planet outfitters, on the Main Salmon River, Frank Church - River of No Return Wilderness, Idaho, July 2024.
We paddled the Main Salmon at approximately 5,000 cfs, when rapid difficulties ranged from approximately Class II to Class III+ .
Idaho Senator Frank Church was the U.S. Senator who sponsored both the Wilderness Act of 1964, and the 1968 Wild and Scenic Rivers Act, which both protect the Main Salmon today.
Early non-Native American settlers nicknamed the Main Salmon "The River of No Return" because the river's numerous rapids and fast currents only let them descend down the river (frequently with casualties and tragedies), but not back up.
