I did a lot of noobish things in my tibian life, I drank poison fluids, got nervous and died with many bps of uh inside the backpack, got pked, got hacked, but one thing I never did was giving away my gear to someone trying to kill me.

I killed this guy twice in 2008 :D He got trapped in Carlin, second time on Demona (team with 7 ppl) his aim/heal bot was crashed. Complete noob with no skill. He was around 240lvl

Well let's be real, the high level power abusers were the kind of people that had no friends or social life in real life, and were likely bitter people who used Tibia as an outlet to feel better about themselves by bullying people.
I know that's a big assumption to make, but it checks out when you think about it.
I was in school when I played Tibia, and had 2 siblings and 1 computer in our home which my Dad also used. So at best I'd get 1 maybe 2 hours a day playing Tibia and maybe get a 3 hour session in on a Sunday morning or something. It took hundreds and hundreds of hours to get high level and aquire wealth back then, think my highest level was like a 40 paladin in 7.2-7.4 (2003-2005 I think).
A lot of it was probably juvenile envy, but I was never that impressed when I saw a level 100+ back then because I thought "damn, that person has no life".
He was a loser with no rl friends, most likely bullied.

I had great rl and friend's and still tibia brought the worst of me power abusing exactly like this video when we took over the server... Didn't even think on the other's end of the game,, barely saw players as people... I surely kept that mentality in CS and league, until WoW where' being nice was actually a Plus and people were nice back

Pitiful attitude, to take their equipment and still have them killed. Though, this game wouldn't have been so interesting without all those villains. It's a role-playing afterall.

@@Thoxomnot really, while there were good people who'd enact justice on these assholes the reality was if you were just an average player who played Tibia casually you were at the mercy of Power Abusers and PKers.
While I had great experiences playing as a kid this game really showed me the dark side of humanity with how many jerks played it.
@@jonathanbradley4896This is why I played non-pvp. For casual players, PvP was pretty much useless (except that you could skill with summons). Like you said, you were at the mercy of getting randomly PK'd by a team or having the main guild hunt you for no reason. Non-pvp servers had their fair share of morons as well, but in general it was a less toxic environment.
He once tried to PA me aswell, didn't gave him a shit and died with AoL. Never saw him again, until i joined enemy side in war.
I think this dude still lives in his parents basement and playing Minecraft.

Lo peor para esos power abusers es que nunca podrán estar orgullosos de eso, nunca podrán decir "yo estube ahí, yo fui él". Y de hacerlo no tendrán admiración alguna, ni respeto, ni reconocimiento.

I wouldn't give EQ to a PKer but still you gotta understand these guys. If they hadn't listened to Nobz and hadnt given him the EQ etc, he not only would've killed them but also later on he would've said they are hunted, and need to pay way more than the EQ was worth. It's a lose-lose situation. By giving him what he wanted, they were not hunted "at least".
Still, such immature behaviour from Nobz, even as for a PA. Go ahead, go PK, try to steal sth, but clear quest, which you get paid for and then kill a guys/steal things from him is so low

I'm glad I had friends playing aswell and we hunted them down. Masslogs with low lvl pk chars, sd combos you name it. Nobody were safe if they tried to power abuse us.

O tíbia é um jogo de alianças e networking.. A essência do jogo É o PVP .. Ao jogar em um mundo non-pvp vc assina um atestado de jogador/pessoa mediocre e medrosa

I hated these guys. When I started playing I was only 8 years old, imagine you're level 40 just trying to hunt some Ghouls or Cyclops and a random just walks by and kill you... I stopped playing after some of these abuses. Tibia is until now a game where people won't let other people enjoy without taking out all of the fun.

Ppl who never pk'd were the victims. People who from early stage knew how pvp worked never got power abused or killed by one guy.
Thing is, if you don't want to PvP, why not play on a Non PvP server?
Sure they had their drawbacks like hard to log on as a free account and people luring/looting, but at least rampant power abuse and PKing wasn't a problem if you just wanted to play the game.

lmao I remember this dude doing the same thing to me (Feriuma) in orc fortress. Sheepishly gave away all my items, I was sooo afraid of dying, I should've played a non pvp. I had even spoken to Nobztrakt on ventrilo a few times, or idk if it was the same guy, but Erik who owned it for a while was a nice guy.. at least some times. The reason for him taking my gear? Another lvl 8 started randomly insulting me and I talked back lol. Apparently that was his friend. I guess he just wanted a reason

As someone who played Saphira at that time, I'm pretty sure Mar'kos was Polish. Translation websites were definitely already around, and most people were able to learn some phrases in another language if you played with someone from that country for years.
