there is a mod that allows you to change your sims' height, although some animations like hugging or kissing look weird on sims with a height difference lol but if you don't mind that is a really nice mod that adds more variation to sims :)
i think there is a reason for that, which i kinda get... you see in a lot of these shows there are scenes that include a lot of adult stuff like aclohol sex drugs ect ..ect.. and im talking about shows like euforia .. 13 resons why.. and more.. which its responsable not to use actual teens for those roles. but i also agree with you... some actors look way to old to be playing teens..

When I was 12 I frequently had people think I was 18-20 and half my highschool had full (Santa like) beards so I don't see the issue with movies, games, and shows showing teens that look like adults lol

Because reskinning the adults to be teens means the Sims team didn't have to make a separate skeletal structure, rigging, model, clothes/hair meshes, or animations. Teens look so old in game because they're only really different in terms of coding. I'd much prefer a "preteen" stage to a better baby life stage so we could have that 11-15 age range, and current teens could be 16-19. The way kids age up from like 8 year olds to looking like they just took out a loan is really jarring. I also genuinely wish there were hairstyles, clothing, make up, and accessories that were just for teens, while certain CAS items were unavailable for teens (like balding hairstyles or clothes geared towards the elderly/clubbing aesthetic). I've gotten a couple full on elder looking sims that are teens at my high school...that feels like it shouldn't happen
We all know they ran out of time with the base game because they abandoned online only after Simcity fiasco. There were no pools, toddlers, ghosts, exc. By making teens and adults the same model, they avoiding having to make unique animations, clothing models, exc for them. With high school years they should have fixed this but ....it's Ea.

I use the Height mod, advanced leg slider, hip shape tool, and acne, braces, glasses. It’s possible to make sims look 13 with them all working together.
Good tips, usually when I age up a toddler, child, or teenager, I go into cas and change their appearance there. I play without aging, and I have to age up the children sims manually.
Pre-teen mod will be ur bff!! it adds a trait that shrinks the teens height, gives them the option to go to middle school etc. plus they ‘age out’ of the trait/can be removable at any time

I made ONE video where the ADULT was already slim. This logic is getting ridiculous. All people are equal and one body type isnt better than another - just because I make a non-curvy sim doesn't mean anything more than it literally just being a sim. I'm so tired of people making this about something that it isn't
I've done a very small amount of cas videos and in the one immediately after this (that i filmed at the same time) it features a curvy teen sim, but no comments about bodies on that one.

When I say curves in the video i mean boob and hips size which get more pronounced as you develop *in general* , of course there are exceptions but my video was for *general* advice. Body weight is totally independant to curves. someone can be skinny with curves or plus size and not be curvy. People just use curvy as the same meaning and get mad when they don't understand the difference

I love doing this whenever they age from child to teen, and then essentially undoing it halfway through their teen cycle and then letting their young adult look kind of merge more gracefully I guess?
It kind of hope that they provide swatches and the color wheel so that they can provide some like suggested colors and then you can change the color to anything you want. The color wheel can be a little intimidating if you don’t know exactly what you want. Also a recent colors option and and eye dropper to pick colors from the room would be nice so that it’s easy to reuse colors.
AFAB people age 15+ will usually have some more defined curves, but this is insanely realistic for 12-14 year olds, even better than I could do and I’m a teenager

Do you know morgan fyres and sofia bjergsen? I think the time they were released, maxis heard the "teens look old" complaint and try to make them as slender as possible.
I play sims 3 so most of this is already done by the game but I always like to add some awkwardness to the cloth combos and makeup, maybe give them a haircut that doesn't suit them as well too, I find it's more realistic and fun!

I was lucky two or three times with my custom sims growing up as teens, looking like real teens, and then their baby face still making sense as an adult afterwards.

I understand why we can't really have a height slider in the game, it would make literally every animation in the game take 2x more work to get it to work properly but I still wish we did

Trust me, I'm a massive user of CC 😂However I find it super annoying in videos because obvy no two people have the same cc. These videos are meant to be simple and applicable to everyone, including people who don't use cc

honestly im pretty good making teenagers. my real problem is making adult sims looking adult.
The fact that she makes her teens this skinny makes me look like a wale in comparison 😭
I also lower the eyes and bring up the ears. The face drifts up as u go through puberty so doing the mentioned, will mimic that

Good tips! She does look much younger! I wish the sims game would naturally make the teenage lifestage look different from adulthood though, for me it would get tedious to have to re-edit them every time they age up.

I was lucky two or three times with my custom sims growing up as teens, looking like real teens, and then their baby face still making sense as an adult afterwards.

If you don’t want to change their features you can use CAS cc, which helps a lot with aging and is easy do change however you like :)
this is such a great tip!! i wish there was a mod that did this automatically. sadly i suck at cas and I'd be too afraid of ruining my sim to do this bc i like to keep their genetics intact sjfjskgj i probably wouldn't be able to put them back as they were

How have I played since release and never knew moving the back changed posture. I always wondered why some of my sims just stood weird.
