Completed!!! Last in the 69 Sport Satellite trunk install series.
All the pieces are welded in, primed, seam sealer in place and wheel well and quarter panel patch work completed.
I have welded in lower gas tank support panel, coated the welds and installed the tank straps and gas tank.
I go over some of the chemical products I used and some of the considerations in using them.
I would also like to add that there are other safety concerns that should have been mentioned in the beginning that I take for granted but others may not so they are worth mentioning.
Wear Eye protection. You will be grinding; drilling and using volatile chemicals so keep them on.
Wear hearing protection. During grinding especially it will get load.
A breathing mask is essential while grinding, removing old seam sealer, and during clean up to avoid some of the solids that get into our lungs and nose that cause short term discomfort and possibly avoid some of the long term issues that some of my dear friends have experienced who were in the business of auto restoration.
If you are going to do the welding, make sure you have the proper eye protection, and clothing to avoid burning yourself. Make sure that your home circuits can support the welder properly and make sure that you have proper ventilation so you are not breathing things you should avoid.
Make sure that you take in consideration your work space, keep it clean and free of trip and fire hazards. Grinding metal and welding can cause fires if you are not careful.
Also don’t forget to HAVE FUN!!!
Thanks for watching and I hope this was a helpful series.
